The story of an abusive relationship from the inside. A person always has the ability to make choices, but what we have inside us can make us make the wrong ones—until the time is right to make the right ones.
I wrote this to get myself to examine some things in my life more closely in an attempt to understand the “why” of some things.<br /><br /><br />There is no “moral” to this story, not really. But if it serves a purpose beyond my own “self-therapy,” perhaps it will give someone some understanding of the dynamics of abuse, from the perspective of the abused. People are often quick to judge the victim of abuse, often more quickly than they judge the abuser. A person always has the ability to make choices, but what we have inside us can make us make the wrong ones—until the time is right to make the right ones.
