Saga in six parts describing the lives of two gay men surviving the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl Era of the 1930s-40s. Research, along with the comments from an oral history project were the inspirations for this tale spanning several decades in the US.
Part one of six describes a seventeen-year-old David McCann leaving for the West Coast, separated from his family and the life he's known on the land. An accompanying cousin causes problems along the way. David McCann rids himself of problems to find himself with an inexperienced companion for their journey to the Pacific. The things people choose to take and to leave along their travels defines their futures.
