Stray Figures
A collection of short stories.
“It began for him almost always with the vision of some person or persons, who hovered before him, soliciting him, as the active or passive figure, interesting him and appealing to him just as they were and by what they were.” -Henry James, Jr., Preface to The Portrait of a Lady
This is how an idea for writing begins for me “with the vision of some person”. Sadly, for me it often ends with that vision. Too often I let these visions get away without a single written word. Rather than that, I’ll capture what I can of them in these disjointed chapters.
