Challenges of Farming

   (2 reviews)
Genres: General Fiction
Sub-genres: Drama

Forced to leave home at the age of seventeen, soon after my parents learnt that I was gay, I worked part time while studying at university, until I received a brief text message from my older brother, informing that our parents were killed. I didn't bother to attend the funeral, since I had been rejected by the whole family.

A few years later, I was informed that our grandfather had passed away, and that I was the only one to inherit the family farm, that I had visited many times during the holidays, and where I was the happiest when growing up.

I've just re-read The story & enjoyed it as much the 2nd time around!! I've just posted a comment on chapter 10 asking 4 questions the answers of which if they'd been in the story would have made It a 5* review.

In my mind Quokka is one of the best "modern day situation" writers with predominantly  Australian  based stories but also those that cover other countries such as the UK (& the EU to a lesser level) South Africa, The Falkland Islands  & The Indian  Ocean Territories  to name some but not all locations used.

His research & attention to location detail & accuracy are unparalleled!!!

One of my all time top 5 Gay Story Authors !!

The Chapters 1 - 9 are very good and entertaining; but Chapter 10 is a letdown and show that you lost interest in this story. Chapter 10 nearly destroyed the whole story.
