Ben Carleson, an established gay lawyer, deftly juggles a pair of complicated trials.  His client:  a very nice guy.  His opponents:  a pair of as-bright lawyers, one a bit more skilled and slicker than the other.  The object:  justice, as usual.

Courtroom drama, how boring I can hear you say. Well lets put it this way, I started to read intending to read a couple of chapters  day but no it didn't go that way. It was so interesting it drew me in and I had to binge read it till I finished it in one day, even being late going to bed! It's a brilliant courtroom drama and very different, in the best way, to other stories on GA and a very gripping story in that grips your interest. I definitely recommend this story, it's one of the best reads I've had in a long time. Well done @RichEisbrouch and thank you for a great read.

Response from the author:

Wow.  Thank you for this.  That's really great.

As mentioned, this is possibly my strongest book.  That's because it's a collaboration with my brother, but he didn't like the way it came out.  He wanted more Grisham, and I don't have his strengths.

The partner to this book is 12 Hours, another courtroom novel with the same central lawyer, though he's twenty-five years younger.  That book is far more challenging because it asks the readers to do a lot more work -- it puts them on the jury -- and it's not as compellingly paced.  It also lacks Cowboy.

Again, thanks.

A courtroom drama that involves drinking and driving, challenging perceptions of various groups (police and bikers), and wonderful characters.  A definite worthwhile read!!

Response from the author:

I just discovered this review, though it was written almost two-and-a-half years ago.  So thank you for it.  I certainly didn't mean to seem ungrateful.

Rich Eisbrouch has written an excellent courtroom drama! There was an horrific accident, and the trial is about who was driving. Rich keeps the reader engaged from the accident, through the investigation, and on to two trials: criminal and civil. I was never certain who was driving until the very end. The lawyers are the main characters, and we see the trial through their eyes. I enjoyed this behind the scenes look at our legal system. The two accident victims and the lawyer's were believable in thought, word, and deed. There were many interesting supporting  characters. Two of my favorites were the Hell's Angels member and the jury foreperson. If courtroom drama is something you like, this story is a must read!

Response from the author:

As with the review just before this one, I just discovered yours, so I don't want you to think I've been ignoring it for four years.  What mainly surprises me is that the book's been posted for four years.  It both doesn't seem that long and seems far longer.

But thank you for your generosity, and I wish I could write other books as compelling.
