A Holiday Adventure - 12. The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year pt. 2
It was the twenty-sixth of December. Everyone enjoyed some much-needed downtime from the chaos of Christmas.
"C'mon, babe, we gotta do it."
"I swear, you're as bad as Dad, Ry."
Nicky and Reilly were in bed discussing picking up the fairy's parents with the delivery sleigh, dressed in full Santa regalia.
"I still can't believe you, Dad, and Lee pinned me down, tickling me until I agreed to wear the Santa suit last night."
"And, got pictures of the most adorable Santa Claus in history," Reilly said, giggling.
Nicky smirked as he lightly tickled his mate's wings with his fingertips.
"Arrgh, that's cheating."
Peals of high-pitched, squealing, boyish giggles bounced off the bedroom walls, his body rocked side to side, and his legs kicked.
The sparkly-eyed elf stopped the tickle attack, wrapped his arms around his lover, and kissed the male's shimmering nose.
"So, what do I get if I agree to the Santa garb when we pick up Mama and Papa?"
"Well, how about a husband for New Year's?"
Reilly's cackling laughter filled the room when he saw the shocked expression on his lover's face.
"Why wait? We're in love, and the people who matter the most to us will be here."
"We don't have rings yet, Babe."
"Are they really that necessary, Nicky? We're each other's soul mate, and that's enough for me."
The elf giggled and squirmed when his ears were lightly tickled.
"Don't make me tickle your wings again, my giggle fairy."
"You gotta catch me first."
Reilly squealed and giggled as he flapped his wings, hovering over the bed. However, before he could get out of reach, his mate grabbed his ankle and tickled his symbol. Instantly, shrieking laughter filled the room as he lost altitude and landed in his grinning elf's lap.
"Umm, hi."
Nicky lowered his head and made his future husband writhe and squeal because of the raspberries he planted on the fairy's taut, bare stomach and neck.
"Getting married on New Year's Eve," Stella reiterated.
The engaged couple sat in the living room with Stella, Kris, and Reilly's parents, who were on the laptop screen via Skype to discuss the new plan.
"It makes sense," Kris offered. "You two will be here, and we've already been planning our usual huge celebration, and a wedding will give this year's party even more of a loving atmosphere."
After a few more minutes of discussion, it was agreed that this was ultimately Nicky's and Reilly's choice, and everyone was looking forward to the celebration.
"I've been thinking about rings and wanted to ask, what do you think about creating our own, magically?"
Reilly's ears twitched, and he jumped up in excitement.
"I love that idea, babe."
The couple went outside, where Nicky created a slender rope of snow that he formed into two circles, the size of his and Reilly's ring fingers, and suspended them in midair. Reilly created little sparkly ivy leaves and snowflakes, encrusted them into the rings, and together, he and Nicky solidified the creations into two shimmering white gold pieces of jewelry.
When they arrived at the North Pole, Reilly's parents were speechless at how magical and beautiful everything was. They were as giddy as school kids when they embraced Stella and Kris, met the Frosts, and Eugene and Sable.
"It means the world to my wife and I that our son has been embraced by so much love and acceptance," Thomas D'Angelo said over drinks at the house.
"We always knew our boy was special. However, we never fathomed anything this spectacular and magical," Reilly's mother added.
Nicky chuckled when Reilly blushed and buried his face in his chest.
The four parents spent the time getting to know one another. The older D'Angelo pair also enjoyed skiing the slopes at the ski resort and going to the carnival.
On New Year's Eve, Nicky and Reilly were married at their special place under the stars.
