Why Pride?

   (5 reviews)
Genres: General Fiction
Sub-genres: Drama

Myles and Jace are roommates, and Myles doesn't understand why Jace feels so strongly about Pride.

A bet is made; a lesson is learned, and Jace gets to see Myles's true colors.

This story is in response to a call for "Pride Shorts", between 100-1,000 words. I hope you enjoy it.

Pleasant story with the old adage "walking a mile in another person's shoes". Some truths are best experienced rather than heard about. It's simple and good take.

Response from the author:

Thanks!

We just don't know what someone is going through, what trials exist for others, until we try on those shoes ourselves. Well, enter Jace and Myles to show us what that might actually look like. 🙂

Two points of view. One little challenge. One very valuable lesson learned. Nicely done Wayne!

Response from the author:

Thanks for reading. I don't think I can reply much more without giving something away, but I appreciate that you'd spend time reading and reviewing the short. 🙂

Well, anything by Mr. Gray is a delight and so is this inspired piece of writing. Wayne's work never fails to influence and provoke (in the best of ways). A wonderful story from a talented man.

An awesome tale, that shows why we have Pride. Thanks for writing.

Response from the author:

Thanks, Chris.

I do think it makes an argument for Pride, doesn't it? 🙂

Great short story!  Excellent example of one of the many ways we still have a long way to go.

Response from the author:

Thank you for reading and reviewing the work!

You're absolutely right - we've such a long way to go. But with allies, maybe we'll get there.
