Embers 4. Running With The Pack

   (12 reviews)
Story Cover 2.jpg

When asked for help by his alpha, Brandon Holstrom stepped forward to heed the call. Even though it would mean leaving behind everyone he knew and walk into the unknown of a foreign country, he still agreed. Part of a rare breed who run towards a fire instead of away. Based on the media reports he'd seen, Brandon could only guess what awaits him on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

I would like to thank Carlos Hazday for lighting the spark to this as well as his wonderful editing. And to my husband for fanning the flames to make sure I completed this story. Finally, Backwoods Boy for giving this the final edit and polish. Without the three of you, this never would have come to fruition.

This is the 4th story in The Running with The Pack series.

In this story we meet Brandon, a firefighter who has not made peace with his wolf.

When Australia put out the call for firefighters, we see Brandon volunteer to go down under. He is assigned to the lycan pack of firefighters called the Mutts. In his time in Australia, Brandon learns alot about himself and his wolf.

We meet some familiar faces on our visit to Australia and we are treated to a fantastic tour guide. As with all stories in this series there is psychological tension, steamy sex, but overall a fantastic story that is full of action from the very first chapter.

Highly recommended as a great read, as are the other stories in the series.

This is an exciting, fast paced character study/adventure story.  The author is equally adept at writing action, steamy sex, psychological tension, fantasy, and tourism guides!  A great read for anyone who enjoys stories featuring realistic adult characters (yes, even though they are shifters).  No angsty teenager warnings!

Having edited the story, I may be biased, but I truly enjoyed it.

It tells us of a young man's growth while allowing us to experience the world of wildfire fighters in an exotic location. Brandon's growth and acceptance of his 'wolf' serve as a great representation of the acceptance any of us considered different must find. Once we learn to love ourselves, we'll be able to love others much better. Australia, as seen through the yes of an American firefighter is captivating. My hat's off to those men and women who risk their lives to protect ours and our property.

Embers also showcases the author's growth. Wolf's stories are always popular, but each shows improvement over its predecessors. I look forward to his next offering and highly encourage you to read this one.

This is a true workmanship of writing that is beyond spectacular! There are no words to describe how good this story is. Well, maybe there is! It is VERY OUTSTANDING! And entertaining! A story of how firefighters do their jobs under duress and how shifters can not only be themselves but they can take care of themselves too. They can also get hurt badly! The god thing in the story is that there are old friends that we all love to read about that also help take care of a firefighter that gets hurt. I recommend this story to all here on GA to read!

@WolfMonce again hit it out of the park with the forth installment of the series. A new character to the series, a wolf who hates what he is and tries to suppress that part of himself, but from his profession tries to help others. Old friends make a return and add to the fun and drama. We're taken to exotic locations, face fearsome fires and some smolderingly hot scenes. The book stands well enough on it's own, but compliments the first three.

Embers by WolfM is a great story written by a great author.  Brandon is a complex young man who has overcome many roadblocks in his life.  Fate has left him at odds with his wolf, lonely for his husband, a marine stationed in Iraq, and a dangerous job as a firefighter.  When his alpha asks for volunteers to go to Australia to fight fires he jumps at the chance.  His wicked sense of humour, protective nature and sense of duty are just a few things that will endear him to you as he faces the adventure ahead.  Excellently written this story will make you laugh a lot as Brandon and his mate flirt, then cringe in fear with the descriptions of fighting the fires.  This is the latest of four great stories in the Run With the Pack series. It stands alone, but also fits so well in the series.  It is just one great reading experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish.  For those that have followed this series, we got to met some new and interesting characters and a visit from some old favorites.

Lots of action with both fighting fires and and interaction between different characters; both are hot and heavy at times.  Interesting character development and very well done throughout; the writing and pacing were both first rate as well.

The story does leave a few unanswered questions; but of course that only leaves the possibility for another book open.

The fourth installment in my favorite series on GA did not hold anything back.

Embers follows Brandon and his passionate decision to assist Australia in extinguishing their wildfires. Along the way, he meets a group of Aussies, learns their language, and rediscovers his inner wolf. This story is filled with heart-stopping cliffhangers, steamy moments, and flirtatious dialogue that can make manly doms blush.

This was a treat to read. Excellent work, Wolf!

As an Australian it gave me such joy to read a story set not only in my own country, but also my state and city. Most stories are set in the USA and in places that I have not visited or seen,  so to know that my backyard was faithfully recreated is fantastic.  The story is as one would expect from such a master craftsman, well paced, humorous and adds another step in the "Running with Pack" saga. Each story adds another layer and depth to the world created. A magical read
