Scene: An Abandoned Alleyway Leading to a Doorway

   (1 review)
Genres: Mystery
Sub-genres: Noir/Hard-Boiled

My entry for the Sub-Genre Rewrite the Prompt Challenge.  Mystery Noir/Hard-Boiled.  A hardened and weary detective sees a lady in over her head and the only spark of good left in his soul compels him to intervene.

Language, mentions of uncomfortable topics.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, what do you get when you have 947 words written as part of a challenge?

A picture so vivid, a setting exquisitely depicted that leaves you hoping for more.

Superb wordsmithing, reminiscent of Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Earl Stanley Gardner, and even Agatha Christie!!Reminding me of the old detective novels of the 1940-50's!
