  2. This story topic is for AC Benus' historical Christmas Holiday Novella about Saint Louis' most prominent department store Famous-Barr. The first story is being posted: Katie's Sketchbook - Christmas at Famous-Barr 1976 and you can learn more about Famous-Barr and enjoy pictures in AC's blog and gallery. I would never have thought reading about the history of a department store could be so interesting. As one of the comments said: "Now You are being a Living Encyclopedia." But I guess it's not the first time AC has awed his readers by the depth of his research and attention to historical facts and details. If you're ready to get into a holiday mood or want to follow one of AC's amazing love stories, check out Katie's Sketchbook. I promise you won't be disappointed. And join us here to discuss themes and topics of the Novella.
  3. This post contains some very minor spoilers regarding romance options in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series of games, if that wasn't already clear. I've been playing these games a lot. And I mean a lot. I've played through the entire Mass Effect series three times. I am now on my fourth play through. Since last October. I did say. I've played Dragon Age even more, even though I only got Origins last Christmas. I obsess about things. It's part of my charm. These are extremely versatile games. Things can be vastly different from play through to play through, as your choices affect the world around you in bigger and bigger ways. Part of the reason I keep going back to these games, though, even as I get bored with a lot of others, is the romance options. There are so many of them I want to try! While lesbian romance options have been part of the Mass Effect series since the beginning, thanks to Liara (and I've mostly played as FemShep cause she has a better voice I think), there were no gay romance options for a male Shepard until Mass Effect 3, when Kaidan inexplicably became bisexual (not that I mind) and gay shuttle pilot Steve Cortez showed up. I'm a bit in love with Cortez. He's such a sweetheart! Dragon Age is an entirely different beast, however. Same-sex romance has been a part of those games from the start, with Leliana and Zevran both being bisexual romantic interests in Origins. In Dragon Age II, all the base game romance options are bisexual (though if you romance Anders as a male Hawke, you'll find that he appears to be canonically gay). Dragon Age II is a terrible game, of course, released before it was finished and chock full of bugs, but I've had to play it several times for the sake of the romances. Cause the characters and the plot are awesome. In Dragon Age: Inquisition the romance options once again have gender preferences, and some even race preferences. But since there are so many romance options in the first place, it kind of evens out. Sera and Dorian are gay, Josephine and Iron Bull are bisexual (pretty sure Iron Bull would shag just about anyone or anything that seemed able to give consent), Blackwall and Cassandra are straight, as are Solas and Cullen, with the added restriction that Solas can only be romanced by an elf, and Cullen only by an elf or human. The added coolness is that you can flirt with any of these people (except Solas and Blackwall) regardless of their gender or race preference. I like playing a male Inquisitor and flirting shamelessly with Cullen to watch him blush. So, do you play these games? Which characters do you prefer to romance? And why?
  4. Looking for a beta and/or editor for a summer anthology piece, which is due on 26 May 2016. It covers a gay man who makes a game out of dating straight men or convincing them to one-night stands, but one of them ends up being more open to a homosexual relationship and pursues him. They are, coincidentally, working for the same office in the same building. The new guy pursues the player. So yes, I need help writing this and would appreciate suggestions on how to go about it and judge what I have right now. Like many artists, I have a good idea and don't know how to press it further. Also, I want to bring out my characters' personalities more. For editing, I feel working with a Google docs file would be as much a possibility as passing an attachment back and forth would. The former might be more ideal. Comments are more ideal but in-line edits are welcome. Snippet:
  5. Okay have finally decided to release some sneak peaks! This is very exciting for me. My first story after two years of writers block so I am glad to present these to you and hope that you enjoy! <3 "That you're neurotic." He laughed, following after her. "Though on a more serious note...I could say your schizophrenic....you show like no emotion." He paused and looked around. "I'm going to seem really random for a minute...this house was probably last lived in during like the thirties and...aside from the lack of Asian eyes, you look just like a china doll." Her eyebrows lifted. "Here's a facial expression, it shows interest." And then the smallest of grins appeared. "And while I look like a china doll...Bryana looks like a barbie. Which one do you prefer?" She pulled the door open and it was only half hanging onto the hinges. "I would prefer a collection of non generic looking Ken dolls." Lyte said, following her inside, seeing the place had furniture. "Is this stuff...was it left or is it yours?" "Awesome...I don't have to worry about you hitting on me, Jake did it once and I couldn't tell if he was serious or not, he should thank God that Bryana was not there and that I never said anything." She looked around. "Already furnished...even thrift shopping for furniture would be expensive, at least in my position on the economic chain." Lyte stared at her for a moment and then he shrugged. "Guy was probably just being a passive aggressive jerk." "He's lucky that I'm not Lex, she would have given him three black eyes." She held up three fingers. "Yeah...his mind's eye." "I sure would." She looked at Lyte and Nikita as the two turned towards her. "You know what is so annoying?" Lex walked inside. "I miss school, probably miss something good, sit in a court-house all day and that dumb bitch neighbor of mine lies from the A of her testimony all the way to the Z and gets away with her bullshit." Nikita slowly nodded. "I see...well I could try to cast a spell on her...not that actual magic has ever worked for me before but with wicca I believe in being able to channel certain energies and vibes towards people." "I don't believe in that mess." She crossed her arms. "I'll give Cynthia some bad vibes. That fucking bipolar bitch, there is not going to be anymore of me going nice just because she has a nice swing." Lyte raised his eyebrows. "Wow...one day and I'm already getting the dirt. What exactly did Cynthia do?" "Said she was going to hire a hit on me...so I figured I'd get her thrown in jail so a woman could get a hit on her...if you get my flow." She shook her head. "But naturally it turned into a classic word against word and since she's an adult...it's likely that the teenager is the lying bitch, the second part of that is right but not the first." "Can she really do that?" He asked. "No...she was mocking me, I knew it too...but I did it anyway. I guess I wasn't convincing emotionally or something." She slowly grinned. "Should of sliced my wrists and went in there being all emo. Mr. Judge...I was going to kill myself because I am to scared to exist with her! So this is what I did! And...I don't think I did it good enough." Nikita shook her head. "You are a trip." "And yet I still can't get you to laugh." Lex grinned and she looked at Lyte. "Any kind of reaction you get out of her means you hit her mental G-spot. Just imagine her brain oozing with mental cum and feel accomplished!" "Gross!" Nikita walked over to the couch and sat down. "I don't think he would feel accomplished or anything else for that matter...he's really into the Y chromosome." "Oh...too bad." Lex shook her head. "Anyway so Caleb caught me up on the assignment and since the class has an odd number and I was out...I was told to volunteer as a second patient and so naturally I thought of you Niki." "Before we start...apologies if I am way off base but being new here..." He looked between them. "You guys seem like the type to maybe...be into the drug scene? I need a new dealer and in this small no where town...I'll be lucky to find one." "I know a guy in Minneapolis, he gets his stuff from Canada...however that traffic system works but everything I get is premium." Lex nodded. "I can vouch that you're trust worthy, actually it would be better if I came with you on the first buy." "I dabble in some LSD...but for spiritual purposes, if I want anything recreational usually weed does it for me or sometimes prescription pills." Nikita flipped through the pages in her notebook and found a blank page. "Okay..." "Weak bitch..." Lex laughed and shook her head. "Jail house hoe...lucky Cynthia didn't get you charged with something." Nikita grinned and she shook her head. "We should get started...Lyte is the doctor." "Why does the guy get to be the doctor? What about women's rights?!" Lex questioned, though it was heavily sarcastic in nature. Nikita shook her head. "Because he's the new guy and I don't want to be the doctor...but feel free to take it if you want." "I got it." Lyte said and then he looked over at Lex. "And that sounds good." He offered over his phone. "Just add yourself and I'll text you." She took the phone and nodded as she looked down and went to program herself into the contacts. "If it says your old bitch is calling...that is me. It's what all the guys get so they feel like a nagging wife is calling." That earned a small grin from Nikita and she offered over the notebook. "There...use that for the notes." Lyte grinned and took the notebook. "This will work for now...I'll have to grab my tablet next time, digital writing is just...I don't know, more entertaining." "Well say what you will...put something in the schizophrenic realm on mine...since I'm all into Wicca and while I gave up on real magic when I was twelve...I still believe in certain more natural things but any doctor would probably say I'm crazy." Nikita expressed. "What do you do? Drug people with over the counter supplements and call them potions?" Lex offered Lyte his phone back, containing her laughter. "Yep...I crush up supplements and mix the powders together to fuck up the chemicals in your brains and I call it magic." It was sarcasm but of a more dry and passive nature. "I don't do that but it's a good example of what I mean by more natural things." Noah turned his attention away from the television upon hearing the sound of his phone ringing. He grabbed it and saw that it was Christian. "Hey...I thought you were coming over." "Change of plans....we're crashing Bryana's Halloween party." A grin slowly appeared. "I'm going to give someone the scare of their life..." "Crashing their party? Are you insane? They will do more than call us Noel and Christmas and the joke on us." Noah's eyes widened. "Let them call me Christmas...I'm bringing the presents." Christian softly laughed. "Do you have some kind of costume you can throw together?" "How about a sheet over my head with cut out eyes? At least they couldn't identify me." "If that is the best you can do...as for me I have a bag of surprises tonight, being why I can't pick you up." "You only have a drivers permit." Noah reminded him. "Who is taking you?" "Yeah and none of us are old enough to drink, won't be the only law I break tonight." Christian sighed. "Okay...go fix your ghost costume and...cut it at the bottom so it don't drag the ground. I'll come and get you, so long as I don't drive stupid then we should be fine." "Road blocks? You know there will be road blocks." Noah shook his head. "How about I just have Lex take us." "Fine." Christian got up and walked to the closet and opened it, yanking out a trench coat. "I'll just wait here but if you aren't here in like fifteen...I am taking off and you'll miss all the fun." He turned around and threw the coat onto his bed and walked off into the bathroom. "Lex will try to be there in five, you know my sister." Noah pulled the phone away and hung up, that was when he saw Lex come running down the stairs. "What the hell are you?" Lex stopped at the bottom of the stairs in a pair of camouflage skin tight cargo pants and a matching sleeveless crop top, a diamond belly button ring reflecting in the light and matching the rhinestones that she had pasted to her bare midriff. A black holster belt was worn and it held the gun that Blitz had, since he was nice enough to let her borrow it. Her hair was done in micro braids and left to dangle freely around her head and shoulders. "I'm a military bitch, what does it look like?" Lex laughed and she walked around the couch and grabbed a piece of pop corn. "What are your plans? Movie night?" She looked at the television and she sighed. "Too bad you're adopted...could of inherited my genetics." "Chris invited me to go...he wanted me to ask if you'd drive us but I guess you're going anyway." He shrugged. "I had no idea he would want to go, the best I can do is a ghost sheet." "A ghost sheet?" Lex shook her head. "Hell no....my brother isn't being that lame. I put this costume together by myself, it's just my regular outfit with some accessories." She grabbed his arm and pulled him up from the couch. "Lets see what we can do." Noah let her tug him up from the couch but then Lex was stronger compared to him. He followed her as he was nearly dragged up the stairs in a hurry and then pushed against the wall in the hall way and he shook his head. "What?" "I need an idea." She stepped towards her room. "Want to be a cross dresser?" "Uh...no, I don't think so. Jake already calls me Noel when I dress like a guy." Noah frowned, clearly not happy about this but he would go, he had always promised not to hold Christian back from anything. "Wait!" Lex ran into her room and the sound of a loud thud could be heard when she swung her closet door open and it hit the wall. She stepped inside and dug around. "Noah, come here." He walked into her room and saw her walk out of the closet. "I'm almost scared to ask." Normally I give out more previews but I still have so few chapters and I don't want to give too much away! As I go on I will put out a few more sneak peaks, my usual is four total but who knows, enjoy!
  6. Hmm...... Ok,just like what you saw in the title, here's a random talk, another random thought. Well,I have been reading a lot of novel and stories here, mostly romance one and a lot involves teenager too. There's always about a guy who've fallen in love with another boy for the first sight, and mostly, they were lucky because the infatuation were reciprocated by the other protagonist. Then, the relationship will start and the love blooms and drama and yada yada yada... Most of the stories were about the same I guess. But I love to read it,because it cause to wonder whether that will ever happen in reality. I mean, does that kind of live story exist in real life? I mean, yes, for the first few early part, where I,the protagonist of my own life, fell in love with another beautiful boy. Then the crush becomes obsession. But,until then, the contradiction awaits, cuz,for all I know, all the guys around me are hopelessly straight.I can't help but feeling hurt each time I see him.My eyes tell him I love him, whenever we were caught in each other's gaze.At times,I just wanted to tell him the truth, even if he does not fancy me the I did to him,I just want him to know the truth,I mean,it must be worth something right? I don't want to regret my life later if I couldn't tell him the truth. I just wish sometime,so that He know about me. I just knew it,he'll hate me enough(I think he's a homophobic guy), it's unbearable to think that the person who love U the most will hurt you. That's why I passed this issue and kept it as a secret. This is the reason I never believe in such stories, but I ought to wish them miraculously occur to me. I just wanted someone to love me,and someone for me to love. Desperately though......... Ok,enough of the random talk, thank you!!
  7. Hey all! It's been awhile since I updated anything. And here I am updating a new story! Shame one me. But I have been working on this story this past week. Yep started and wrote it in the past week. It spoke to me and I just had to write. I have to say I'm enjoying it. So ya... here's one for ya. Hope you guys like it. And as always feel free to comment and discuss the story here. I decided to use a bit of both western and eastern folklore into this story. With all the young adult paranormal romances out there I realized they all revolve around western myths. I figured hey since I, an Asian guy, greatly and throughly enjoy reading about other kinds of peoples and their stories I'll write about a Asian guy and his story and I bet other kinds of folks will like that too! So ta da! Here's my young adult paranormal romance story with an Asian lore weaved into it. I really do hope you guys enjoy it. I plan to release chapters weekly. Since this is the first week, I'll release the first two chapters (second chapter will be up later tonight after I go work and come home). But the weekly thing is more so for me so I can plan and keep track and pace my life. I have found that if I focus on one thing and one thing only nothing ever gets done. Sounds weird but its true. It's like one of my other stories here, which shall not be named because I'm embarrassed that it has yet to be fiished. I guess, in a way, I did plan for [that story] from the start to be a true serial story... anyway back to the point. I planned and focused a lot of my free time on that and I just tired myself out on that story. The ideas and what not are still in my brain but my drive and motivation for it has burnt out. So I don't want to do that to any more of my writings. So I'm taking it slow. So yes the story will be updated once a week. Just think of it like your favorite TV show! Happy readings! Discuss Away!
  8. I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Andrew and I'm new to GA, and I hope to get to know you all better. I have released my first chapter of my story "The Journey of Jacob and Kyle" which can be found through my signature. God bless
  9. Just thought I should start this discussion for my story. This is really easy to write, since it's just lifted from my life. I have little details in there including my personal interests, observations about gay dating, and some fun stuff. It's not polished, just a normal guy depicting a love affair with another guy. It just so happens both of them are Chinese, but from different backgrounds, cultures, and societies. As for the real life event this was inspired by, not sure where the thing is headed just like my narrator.
  10. [sharedmedia=stories:stories:4280] Playback - Harlem Nocturne. The scene opens on a darkened street, a lone figure...you get the picture, in black and white, narration and all... Shifting gears from Wellington Napoleon Dowds outre fabulocity...
  11. I created a place for people who love reading Outcast to have discussions here about the story.
  12. I've been doing a number of stories for different Anthologies and not getting much else out this year. I apologize. Been a bad year. However I have gone to work on a story that has been rattling around in my head. I have the first two chapters of what will probably be a six chapter story done. I am hoping to post the first chapter on Christmas. Consider it my gift to those of you who still enjoy getting a tale out me. Here is a part of the first chapter. Be warned not corrected, beta read, or edited. Just a sample of what you will be getting. Last Christmas They say that time is the great healer. It allows pains and regrets to fade away, for people to heal, and for life to move you forward. However, sometimes all time does is allow the wounds of life to fester, for time to stand still as heart freezes and turns cold. For Frank all the trouble began last year when his walls were broken down and life flowed in to overwhelm him. Frank pulled the hat down low over his ears, slipped on his gloves, and marched out into the cold autumn wind. The wind picked up the leaves and swirled them into flowing masses of slick brown, orange, and red waves that eventually began to stick together as the freezing November rain came pouring down. He moved slowly, his limp barely visible as he climbed into his battered old truck and started the engine. He sat letting the truck engine warm up before he turned the heat on, eased out of his driveway, and into the roadway. The silence of the cab was punctuated by the slap, slap, slap of the windshield wipers and the hiss of his car’s heater. Here the roads were empty, but he knew it wouldn’t be long till the roads were packed as people would be rushing out to get to early Black Friday sales. As Frank pulled up to the traffic light at his corner, he noticed the house on his left had already decorated for Christmas with colored lights and yard figures. “Damn idiots are just going to have a huge electric bill for all that,” he mumbled as he waited for the light to turn green and moved on into the main drag that would bring him to work. The last year had changed a lot of things in his life and Frank just wanted to work and be left alone. Just ahead he spied the entrance to the parking lot behind his business. He signaled, turned and was surprised to see the large lot was nearly full. He found a parking spot in the back corner, locked his truck up and made his way slowly to the store. He knew he wouldn’t have a huge rush of people but he hoped to draw a few in with his stuff. The idea of running a store where everything was handmade was rare and hard to do anymore. Frank made it to the back of the store and opened the door. The building was cold but he knew between the kiln and the lights the place would soon be toasty warm. He had a bunch of new plates ready to go, glazes done, and a pitcher as well. Now he would sit and carve out some new pieces out of wood. He had already carved two new crèches and a chess set. He hoped people would enjoy his take on the world of magic as he had created a chess board of good and evil, elves and ogres, castles and decrepit keeps, unicorns and Minotaurs. The stains and paints had done a lot to make the figures look spectacular. He hadn’t really been in the Christmas mood for a number of years. His parent’s health had taken a turn for the worst two years ago and he had lost them within weeks of each other. Then his brother, who had been in the Army for fifteen years, came home on leave to spend time with his wife and kids, only to be shot and killed by some twelve year old kid who wanted to get into a gang. His sister-in-law had fallen apart initially, but her desire to do right by her children forced her to pull herself together. That was great for the kids, however it meant she took a job that removed what little family he had left in his life and transferred them across the country. Then, of course, there was his accident.
  13. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I finally can present to you my new story, Last Christmas. This little bundle of joy has been in the works since November. Unlike other stories I have here, I pushed and prodded, and then finally decided this sucker wasn't going up till it was totally written. This time there will be no long gaps or people wondering if I will ever get back to it. The story can be found here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/comicfan/lastchristmas/1 Meet Frank. He was healthy, sexy and at the top of his game, until last year. In months he lost both parents and then his brother to things beyond his control. Then his sister-in-law had to move with his niece and nephew in order to make ends meet. Frank dealt with all the loss and changes stoically, til his boyfriend walked out on him too just before Christmas. Frank has remade his life and is starting all over and figures this time he will just stay single. However, life never goes exactly as planned. Into his new shop comes Chris and things begin to change immediately for him. Will this be a new romance or a repeat of last Christmas?
  14. I want to write a series about a young gay couple, who eventually come out together and deal with lots of emotional triumphs and dramatizations among the way....
  15. Welcome to the discussion forum to Like a Trainwreck's sequel Trigger The Years Past! here you can check for updates from me or leave comments or ask questions. I hope you enjoy the story!
  16. These are a few preview scenes from my new story "Narcolepsy" coming out sometime soon after 2015 begins, maybe before spring, it all depends on when I can get back to writing it, having to get through some personal New Years resolution stuff, but I am already a bit ahead and wanted to share some treats with you. I know with "Rebirth" I gave you two preview scenes, so given the wait time, with this I will give you four! Preview Scene 1 "Because..." He stared at Merit and lowered his voice to a whisper. "You never see...you never notice. Thing is...I don't want Liam to get in trouble." He ran his hands over his face. "He held me while Tyson beat me up, and I was literally powerless to do anything...and now I feel pathetic. I've crushed on Liam...and despite what he did and the fact that it put me here...I still care." "Okay...assuming I believe you, for a second, you would want to tell everyone about Tyson, but you'd protect Liam? Why haven't you told the cops about this? Or have you tried?" He kept a low tone and looked at Emry, trying to remain calm. "Because, what would it matter anyway?" Emry's head fell back and he looked at the ceiling. "You still don't get it." He sighed and looked at Merit. "I want to cry right now...because Liam could get into trouble, I want to cry because I like him...but he could never like me, he never would...and he held me there and let Tyson..." "Wait...so, you like Liam, that would mean that you're..." Merit's eyes slightly widened and he tensed up. "Yeah, it would." He leaned forward. "Let me paint another picture for you...Think about me...falling asleep at Waffle House...and then waking up in some parking lot, maybe still at the Waffle House, maybe not...I couldn't move to see." "That's right...awake, and yet I can't move. But...given my position, I could see a car, and my hand...and the wheel of the car slowly rolling by, inches from my hand, nearly running it over. Tricky thing is...not knowing if it was real or not, yet the terror was still there, just as great, because it could have been real." Emry then went on. "Or how about when Tyson and Liam beat me up for my medication, even a weak outcast could try to do something, run away, maybe fight back if they are the least little bit brave enough, but I can't...because my body becomes useless to me, I try...and the more I do, the more I lose control and fall helpless to whatever they wanted to do." "Sometimes, it can be confused as a seizure, but it's not, the difference is that you stay awake, fully aware, just completely helpless, unless of course at some point they knock you out." Merit stared at him and then looked down towards the table. "What would cause..." "You hang out with both of them, so I'm just going to put it like this. I'm narcoleptic, you idiot. Of course...I don't stay on my meds all the time, I frequently run away from my mom's house because I hate it there." Preview Scene 2 "Talio..." Asia grinned, knowing it annoyed her. "Do you have to call me that? It makes me sound like a man." Talia looked over at Asia. "What if you are?" Asia laughed. "Some people can pull it off good enough. Look at uh...what's her name?" She looked up, thoughtfully. "Hilary Swank! She made a rather cute boy, certainly not a man by my standards, she pulled it off though." "That was a horrible movie, I couldn't sit through what they did when they found out." Talia made a face. Asia looked at her nails and made a face. "Yeah...it was pretty brutal, leave it to Miki to pick such a movie for a sleep over...when we were twelve." She looked over at Talia. "I didn't know what it was about! I thought it was about a boy who was sensitive and...well, in a bad situation." The flaming blood red head chimed in. "You know I like those sort of movies." Miki shrugged. "I do too." Emry looked over at Miki. She looked up and returned Emry's gaze and a small smile appeared. "Aren't you the one that the teachers have been bitching at for falling asleep in class?" He slowly nodded. "Yeah, my grades are probably my biggest failure." He slightly grinned. "And no matter how much they bitch, you just lay slumped over your desk." Miki laughed. "That is the funniest thing in the world." Justin ran over to the group. "You guys ready?" "Yeah." Asia said in response to Justin. "We'll be seeing you, Talio..." She turned around and with the shake of her head, Justin and Miki headed off as they walked towards the school. "I swear...I hate her." Talia crossed her arms and paced back and forth a single time, then she looked up at Merit. "We should probably head to class." Merit slowly nodded and then he looked at Emry. "Will you be okay?" Emry grinned and shook his head. "May be my first year...but I think I've learned the place by now." Preview Scene 3 "So? What is it? What bothers you?" Merit asked, tears forming in his eyes. "Merit...we can learn to accept you, we will love you always, no matter what." He leaned forward. "What troubles me is all that you're willing to sacrifice right now, your entire future. You are eighteen and you are on the edge and every decision you make right now could determine everything, I don't mean to make that sound scary, but it's the truth. And he's...well...he's thirteen." "Dad!" Merit snapped. "Fifteen...he's fifteen." He paused. "Well, he will be this month." "Sorry, my mistake." Mark shook his head. "My point is...he still has so much to go through before he's even where you are now, added his condition on top of all of that and his background. I'm half tempted to contact social services because of who his mother is, she is unfit as could be and as far as I know, there is no one else, meaning if I did, he would go into foster care." "Then adopt him, you could do it...and then I could just take him where ever I go, and we all get what we want, I go to an awesome school and he comes with me." Merit shrugged. "It's simple." "No, it's actually not. A social worker stays in the picture for a period of time to make sure everything is working as it should." "Then do it now, dad. If you do it now...then by the time I move away...it'll be set in stone." Mark closed his eyes and shook his head. "We would have to fight his mother, prove shes unstable, there are processes, you don't just snap your fingers, tell them that she was acting like a drug addict, that we think she steals his medication and get it done." "But he said that she does, he can tell them." "Merit!" Mark opened his eyes, speaking in a raised, but controlled, and firm tone. "It's not that simple." "So, what are you going to do? Kick him out? Send him back to her? Or just report it to social services, make sure I never see him again?" Merit sat back. "I'll hate you forever if you do that." Emry stood outside the door, hearing the whole thing. His eyes widened and he quickly rushed off down the hall and into Merit's bed room and he breathed heavily, nervously, tears streaming down his face and he fell against the door, forcing it to slam shut as his legs gave way in a partial attack and he slid down, falling to the floor. Merit heard a door slam and he looked up. "Great, look what you did! He heard everything!" He got up and rushed out of his dad's study. Preview Scene 4 Merit had fallen onto his knees, holding onto Emry as his upper body lightly shook and jerked within his arms while his lower body was left limp in a mixed state of cataplexy and psychogenic seizure. He cried and looked up at his dad. "You can't take him away from me, you just can't." He leaned down, holding Emry as close to him as he could. Mark walked into the room after standing in the door way and he knelt down and looked at Emry and lightly ran his hand across his head. "He needs me..." Merit cried, watching as Emry slowly settled down within his arms, the jerking slowed down and settled as his eyes fluttered and he fell into a sleep state, passing out in Merit's arms. "Merit..I am not just thinking about you..." He looked up. "If you just let me wait a year, once he's sixteen, he can go where ever he wants, then I'll go where ever you want me to." He sniffled, not taking his eyes off Emry. "Merit...how will you pay for him a doctor? Pay for his medicine? Pay the hospital bills? He's been in the hospital twice now.." Mark shook his head. "I'm not trying to punish you or be the bad guy, but I want you to see the real world for what it is and I want you to be able to handle it." "I don't want to." Merit looked up at his dad. "Please...don't..." He shrugged. "Maybe he came into our life for a reason, Mia died...and he came into our lives, not because he could have potentially killed her, there was no way. It was all because his medication bottles were there...and thats all. You had two kids...because you were meant to. Maybe he's supposed to be..." "Mark..." Michelle stood in the door way, a shoulder leaned against the door frame. He turned around when his wife came upon the scene, and he looked up at her. "Let them be...just let them be." She shook her head, Mark needed to let up, their son had dealt with enough and now was not the time for Mark to be on his case. Mark knew his wife enough to know exactly what she was thinking. He slowly stood up and headed for the door and walked out of the room, Michelle closed the door behind them as they headed off down the hall. Merit cried softly. "Emry..wake up." He ran a hand over his head. "Please wake up..."
  17. Okay, so as I posted in the other thread, I was writing a redraft of Narcolepsy and given that changes have been made, I felt another title was appropiate so I decided to make a new thread for the story with a couple of sneak peaks of the now titled See Me which will be out soon in 2015, though not as soon as it would have been, due to metaphorically working from few scraps and basically rebuilding and for that I apologize but I am happier with it and hope you will be too. Here is a link to the old thread with previous sneak peaks I posted and promised to try to incorporate into the new version even if there are slight alterations, though I don't think there are, I would have to look back to see but I am pretty sure much of them has stayed the same. https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/39869-narcolepsy/ Now onto some new sneak peaks from the new version! Sneak Peak 1 "I can't believe you brought him to my fucking birthday party...of all the things to bring him to." Kane narrowed his eyes at Merit and he crossed his arms. "You already know how I feel about this." "And you know how I feel about it." Merit sighed. "Why? How come you get to pick everyone who gets accepted and no one else does? It's not fair." "That's because I don't pick fags to be in our group." Kane waved his hands out, wanting to yell at Merit but he kept his voice calm. "Don't you get that? Bring Miki into the group, I'd find a way to be cool with it, nothing wrong with her, other than the fact that she hangs out with that bitch, China...and I could even deal with her better than Emry, anyone, but him!" He sighed, his voice slightly raised by the end of it. "Asia..." Merit frowned as he corrected Kane. "I...don't know what else to say...I just don't." "Guys..." Justin walked over to the pool table that was located in a recreation room that lead right off from the large living space where the actual party was being held. He looked between Merit and Kane. "What is your problem with it? You know, Kane...basic psychology...someone who has that big of a problem with it...has some kind of issue with it themselves, aside from just hating people like that. I mean you hate Asia so fucking bad, but you'd accept her before Emry?" Merit shook his head. "I'd start really thinking..." Kane's eyes widened and he grabbed a pool stick. "Do you really want to finish that? Do you want to take this in that fucking direction?! Because I'm telling you right now, I'd advise against it!" "Guys!" Justin screamed and both Kane and Merit looked at him. He sighed and looked over at Kane. "You'll be happy to know..." He then looked at Merit. "And you'll be unhappy to know...that when Asia sees Emry...she is going to kick his fucking ass." "Why?" Merit asked. "Follow me and find out." Justin turned around and headed off. Sneak Peak 2 He headed over to a couple of outcasts who were known to play chess at lunch every day, and without so much as a falter in his step, he observed the board as he approached. His tongue rolled and he leaned down, from parted lips, a pink bubble bloomed as he took the king and made a move, knocking the queen out. The bubble burst and his tongue rolled out and circle, taking the gum back in and he grinned, stealing the queen piece. He shifted from his lean and walked around the table and headed over to one of the circular tables in the far corner where Trillian stood up, almost as if in honor of his approach. Emry grinned and brought a hand around the back of Trillian's neck and he pulled him close and kissed him while sending a foot back, kicking a chair out, letting Trillian go as he fell back into the chair and he clasped his hands over his stomach as Trillian reclaimed his own seat. "Oh man...Talia...if you don't take advantage of this...man...after all Asia has done..." Kane laughed. "She must of not been putting out!" "I don't go to Asia's level." Talia shook her head. Emry grinned at Trillian and his head shifted off to the side, seeing Asia and Miki staring at them and Asia looked as if her eyes could pop out of her head. That was when Emry laced his foot through the strap of Trillian's back pack and yanked it towards him. He leaned down and reached inside, his eyes remained focused on Asia. "Oh that's it!" Asia stood up and headed towards the table. "Now what the fuck is this?! Fucking around at a party and now humiliating me?!" She looked at Trillian. "And what's wrong with you?!" "Nothing is wrong with me..." Trillian looked up at Asia. Emry pulled an X-Box 360 controller out of Trillian's back pack. "Asia...you know...I figured I would give you this..." He held it out. "Since...I got a better joystick to play with and all...Might not be as big...but at least it has two." Asia looked at Emry. "You do not want to get me pissed off...I'll send you into an attack so fast..." "Ah..." Emry lifted his other hand, waving his finger at her. "And if I die? Might be considered murder...I'd at least get some legal advice first." He stuck his arm out, offering the controller. "Until then...enjoy." She glared at him and slapped the controller out of his hand and it hit the wall. She spun around and headed back towards her table. "Next one...incoming." Trillian said, trying to make his voice sound like it was coming over a walkie talkie, even cupping his hands around his mouth and making static sounds. "Emry!" Merit walked over. "First! You're lucky she didn't kick your ass! And second...what are you doing?" He looked over at Merit. What was he doing? Why had he made the decision he made? For the same reason he chose to do what he did at the party, attention. "Well...I was giving Asia new joysticks to play with. Now I'm talking to you..." Merit started to speak up again until Kane and the others approached the scene and Emry smiled. "Oh look...the whole gang is here." His gaze shifted towards Trillian. "It happened just like you said it would." Sneak Peak 3 Emry brought his hands up as he was prevented from flipping pages any further. "Dolph liked me, I always knew he did, but he was such a great friend to me that I couldn't imagine him being anything more. And...I was crushing on you, so..." Liam closed his eyes. "Right...and this goes to Merit..." "Well, he wasn't you, but he was just as popular, not a bad substitute, he was a stranger to me, and it was a stressing time and having someone care..that felt good. Plus he was as new to everything as me, which was a surprise, but it felt good, what felt even better was that he was a little more nervous about it than me, yet confident enough to push." Liam sat back and tossed this around in his head, trying to figure out a way to simplify it. "So, in a way...it was just an exciting first time experience, first kiss...and then..." "And then nothing, we kissed...it was innocent." Emry shrugged. "And then I thought about when you visited me in the hospital and I came to see you and...you...with you, I got to experience the sexual side of it...and you made me feel incredibly wanted. I mean...you wanted me to worship you...and I did, I fed your ego and in turn it fed mine because just knowing I was pleasing you...made me feel so good, I loved watching you feel good." Emry suddenly drew in a gasp of air. Liam looked alarmed and quickly leaned forward. "Emry?" Hell, he wasn't sure, every time Emry did something like that, he would think some kind of attack was about to come on. "Sorry..." Emry leaned forward. "And as I spoke of that...and as I thought of it...I became aroused again." Liam slowly leaned back. "You are?" He started to look down. "Right now?" "No...the awkwardness made it go away." He frowned. "Okay...so aside from awkwardness, there is still something." He said in a hopeful tone. "Except...I feel nothing for you, it all went away after that, I didn't feel anything until I talked about what we did..." Emry expressed. "So...you're saying...you can have the sex with me?" "I haven't even wanted to, the feelings went away just like they went away with Merit. That only happened because I was talking about it." He brought his hands up towards his face and rather than covering it, he pressed his palms together. "I guess that means...if we are to have anything...I have to be put in the mood." "Okay..if that is your guess." Liam stared at him. "And Dominik?" "There was so much sympathy." He looked up. "After seeing him, finding out everything that was done to him. I took his clothes and put them in the wash, then I took him to my shower and we talked and...I wanted, I felt like he had no one and I wanted to be someone and I became someone." He looked up at Liam. "Those feelings are still there, knowing he is all alone, has no one, I feel this need to take care of him, to love all of his pain and hurt away, to keep him and..." He lowered his hands. "I don't know what I'm going to feel next, this is just how I feel now, about you...and Merit...and Dominik." "Maybe you'd have a hell of a perfect guy if we were all mashed up into one." Liam managed a smile. "At least it's good to know that you aren't completely numb to me." "And I don't ever want to be, at least not right now." He shut the book and sighed. "Now I'm scared that I'll feel for people and then become numb to them. For whatever reason I feel, if that reason goes away, I lose what I feel." He looked up. "What if that is how it is for me?" "Don't think like that." He reached across the table and took Emry's hand. "I just need to know where we go next, where am I in the scheme of things? What is our next move?" He looked down at their hands and then he shrugged. "It's not the same as with Merit. I feel like I would be cheating on Dominik, I feel like he is this gentle fragile soul that is cracked and came so close to breaking, I just want to take care of him." "You need time...I understand." Liam nodded. "I can give you that time." Emry smiled. "I don't want you to be alone." He slowly pulled his hand back. "Lunch is about to start and I don't even know where to go." "Why not go to Dolph? You've got the time...fix a friendship that you cared so much about, one that you would of remembered had Merit and I not changed your life or made you confused or...whatever we did." Emry nodded. "That's probably a good idea." He pushed the book away and stood up. "Thanks for having this conversation with me, I think it was important that we did and...I don't think it's the end, not yet." He turned around and headed off and away from the table. "Hopefully not." Liam watched him go off and then he looked down at the book and his eyebrows lifted and a grin appeared. "Witchcraft For Warcraft.." He picked it up and opened it, looking inside the cover. "When your lover is addicted, maybe real magic is the way out..." He looked up and quietly started to laugh and walked off.
  18. I'd like to present my first fantasy-themed story: 'The Ardor' It's a sword-and-magic type novel in which romance plays an important part. I don't want to spoiler much of the content, but the tag line reads like this: A thief who learns that stealing the wrong thing can change everything. A warrior on a journey to leave his past behind. A fallen god yearning to return to the mortal world. A story about ancient magic, decisions and love. I want to say thank you to the GA members who regularly post reviews for my story. You're the best! SInce I'm a real attention whore, I want to encourage more people to comment on the story. If something simply doesn't work for you or you think something is really good, let me know. PLEASE!
  19. Good Day, I will be posting updates with regards to this novel and some queries that my friends have asked me in relation to my story. This will give you, as a reader, insights to the process of how I started to write this novel. I will be providing the link as well to the story in this site. http://www.gayauthor...ybook1breathing NOTE: I will be posting the next chapter next week Monday or this Sunday. Although it's done up to chapter 7, I'm too lazy to press the spacebar five times just so I could copy the format it had when I wrote it on MS-Word. I'm a nutcase with these things. So please bear with me.
  20. So the 14th Feb is just around the corner, have you got your Valentines Cards yet? Just wondering, is Valentines a big thing for you, and on the receiving end, would you rather get flowers, chocolates or a dinner date? (and no you can't have all three! ) Or is valentines just another one of those over commercialised reasons for shops and restaurants to rape the wallet one more time so soon after christmas and the sales?
