  1. Finding Home by Diana DeRicci My rating: 5 of 5 stars Sometimes, I like a feel good story. Diana DeRicci's story, Finding Home, starts out rough for our main character, Parker. He's gotten the crap kicked out of him by life. Sometimes, pride is all a person has left but Parker takes the ride and the $20 offered to him by a well-meaning older man. Even more amazingly... just a short time later, he takes the help offered by a local gay couple, one of which is a local cop, to stick around for a while. People pop up to help Parker settle in to Jasper. No one offers him a handout after the initial effort of the ride and a bit of money for food, but they certainly offer him a hand up. I loved the realism of the struggles Parker faces as he begins to stand on his own two feet once more. Diana could've given us a pat romance device of uniting Parker with his first love, and the reason for his journey on the road, but she's a better writer than that. I loved the interweaving of Parker's past life and people from it with the connections he was making in the present with Ian and Caleb's families. I adored Summer, as we were meant to, of course. Okay, so the plot moves a bit fast for all the changes and the emotional leaps for the characters. I'd have enjoyed more story and getting to know Parker and his romantic interest more as a couple. That, however, is exactly what every really good story I read leaves me wanting. I know as an author that isn't always the way it works, but as a reader, I WANT! lol All in all, I definitely recommend reading this story! Oh, and I read this outside of the series, having never read the first or second, and had no troubles keeping up with the story as a stand alone. I'm sure I might have been more familiar with a few of the other characters had I read it after them, but it wasn't necessary. View all my reviews
  2. I found a cute story today called "Paper Walls", by KD, a new author here at GA. The story was first post back in early fall, but it just caught my eye today. I read the first 11 posted chapters and I fell in love with it. It centers around a fifteen year old adopted football prodigy from Russia whose adopted dad is a coaching legend of Texas High Football, himself. KD does an awesome job of bringing his characters alive and leaves you wanting more. If fact, the chapters could be longer, but KD doesn't short change you in the content department. I don't do this too often, but I highly recommend this story to all.
  3. Hello everyone! My newest story, Shamrock Lite, is out today published by MLR Press. It's a lighthearted and slightly nostalgic homage of mine to the wonderful country of Ireland and its rich lore. You can find the link and blurb below! Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Shamrock-Lite-Albert-Nothlit-ebook/dp/B00UQF1R4W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426636816&sr=8-1&keywords=shamrock+lite MLR Press http://www.mlrbooks.com/ShowBook.php?book=ANSHAMRK Shamrock Lite One lifetime of experience, and suddenly magic. Richard has come to Ireland to reflect on years gone by, not to become mixed up in the affairs of the fairy folk. The handsome stranger he meets will not be denied, however. He makes Richard young again- for a price.
  4. I've been working on a new sort of story, a sort I've never really written. I'm writing a story about a "what if" scenario. It's a tale, set in a world much like our own, with one key difference. That is, it's written in a world where Love is Love. Where healthy relationships of all kinds are simply accepted, and there's no social pressure to be something you're not supposed to be. The difference is actually quite profound. I have to think about it. I have to constantly rewrite bits, because my protagonists shouldn't angst over some of the things my characters in other stories have. They're just allowed to be. What a world that'd be. Where the only struggles a pair of guys have to becoming a couple are the same struggles a man and a woman would have. I'm on chapter seven. I figure I've probably got another four to five chapters to go before I'm done, and I'm looking forward to watching them make this journey together. Really, it's the journey we should all have the choice to make - regardless of who we choose to walk the path with us.
  5. SP and I bought promise / engagement rings today. His is 10mm wide - 6mm black band in the center, with two small silver bands on the outside, spaced slightly off the main ring; mine is a 6mm black band. It was good. We did not go to the cemetery today like I had originally thought I would. The last two years I had very strong "intuition" on what day and time I should be there. This year... nothing. That really upset me yesterday; then felt bad about being upset about it when SP and I are almost at our 6-month anniversary (the 27th -- which is also C's birthday -- which hasn't helped any). I think that lack of "intuition" was C's way of telling me to let him go. Not entirely of course, I'll always love him, but I can't look back and look forward too. Times, like yesterday, I still feel very torn by my emotions towards my Boy and my Darling; my past, and [hopefully] my future.
  6. SP spent the night last night, for the second time. Slept in an odd position and my hip is killing me; his back is killing him. That's most likely because neither of us is used to sleeping next to anyone anymore. My allergies are bad and my blood pressure is sky high this morning and they were last time too. This one I'm pretty sure is because he smokes -- and has for many many years -- and bringing that up is going to be difficult. I'll probably have to tell him he'll need to go outside (he has been smoking outside) to smoke his last cig before bedtime earlier than he has been, so the smell of smoke is not as strong as when we get into bed. Things are going well between us. I worry about messing things up by saying something, but on the other hand he'd hate to wake up to me having a heart attack. Need to go into work and take care of things I wasn't able to get done this week from being out Wed. afternoon and almost all day on Thurs. due to joint pain but.... that will have to wait until the hip calms down enough for me to function.
  7. SP and I have had several conversations: about our pasts, our fears, our insecurities, our hopes for what this could be. Had a few small dates so far, and planning on something larger for New Years. I'm cautiously optimistic and I think he is too. We seem to be on the same page with things - where we are now, what we want going forward. To possibilities, hope, and the future. 🍾
  8. This is quite out of left field for me, but I've recently started up a new story named "Tuct Side", a dark mystery / romance. Feel free to come over here and converse, ask questions, or speculate if the comment section isn't a big enough place for your thoughts.
  9. "Love in this life, Joon Hee Lee. Admiral will never retire. 1998-2023, Eric " -The gravestone eulogy of Sergeant Joon Hee Lee of the Republic of Korea Army, Daejeon National Cemetery, Seoul. Eric's diary: September 22, 2021. University of California, San Diego. School of global strategy and policy. Sunny The first lesson, Korean Security, is in line with my expectations. Oh, the Korean guy named Joon Hee sounds interesting. His English is far better than other Asia dudes, while he is a little shy guy. Joon Hee Diary: October 13th, 2021. The things that should be sent have been given to Eric, and one day I will explain everything to him ... The folk class representatives are really excellent! ! ! Eric's diary: October 12th, 2021. God, Joon Hee gave me such an expensive thing? Ancient Korean cultural relics? And what exactly is written on the paper? Jesus, he clearly knows that I can't read Korean, but it doesn't affect my future as a famous professor at GPS, hahaha! Joon Hee Diary: April 12th, 2022. Eric is so cute. I really want to be with him more... but have go back to Korea to serve in the military after graduation. Eric pretends to be a "rational actor", but when he learned that Joon Hee was going back to South Korea as a soldier, he couldn't help but look gloomy. "Hahahaha, your country is one of our islands, and every pebble on Baitou Mountain belongs to Americans." "Hey buddy, don't be complacent, there is no official peace agreement in the Korean War so far, and it will take a few minutes for DPRK to bomb your hometown in Los Angeles." These daily conversations of friends and friends in Professor Hager's Korean security lecture, but now, it only brings infinite melancholy and sadness to Eric. "Eric, let's give it a last hug." Joon Hee's expression is still so natural. He smells good. "Damn it, what is wrong with your mind?" Eric couldn't help cursing himself. Before hanging out with Joon Hee every day, the days couldn't be happier; Now, as long as Joon Hee hasn't sent a message for more than a week, he will become impatient and anxious-he knows that his best friend is in the army, and he knows that since May 2022, the Korean nuclear test, which was almost forgotten by the world, has started to mass-produce rumors and fears in the air of the peninsula. And Joon Hee may be transferred to the northern boundary or even to the front line at any time ... The first round of small-scale military confrontation has started again. Years later, when Eric was in a daze in the face of Joon Hee's love-filled relics, he must have thought that Joon Hee's class in vice admiral was full of ecstasy because of his casual glance. But at that time, he never thought that Joon Hee would like him like this, beyond friendship. But now all this is pale in the face of facts: The last what's app message was fixed on July 11th, 2023. "NLL has a special mission. All the troops near DMZ have been assembled. Take care, and don’t forget treat me in San Diego after my goddamn military service term!" For a long time afterwards, Eric selectively forgot about July 14th, 2023. As the youngest and good-tempered teaching assistant of GPS, he obviously won't refuse the students' request to watch the live news before class-however, he doesn't know whether to curse or thank for this behavior: "The North Korean side suddenly opened fire, and five officers deployed in front of the South Korean patrol queue were shot. The Cheongwadae spokesman has announced the identity of the dead soldiers in the emergency press conference ..." "Major Park Sung Man; Sergeant Lee Joon Hee ... " The next memory fragment, for Eric, is like a hangover getting worse in the disgusting black fog: he won't remember fainting in class, which student called 911, which students carried themselves to the first aid, and taught QM1 lecturer, best friend and admiral how to carry themselves back to the apartment. How did the GPS teacher group drag themselves to the first flight to Seoul the next morning? ... "This is the relic of comrade-in-arms Joon Hee. Please take care. " Eric swore that he must have been wrong, in other words, he would rather deceive himself into being absolutely wrong. In his diary, Te amo and the mountains are the two most important words. His Joon Hee, who almost fainted when he saw mathematics, would rather write 100,000 QM 2 programming assignments, and never dare to say anything. "What exactly does the birthday card you gave me say?" "Guess, I'll tell you if I guess right." The School of Global Policy and Affairs is always busy day and night, but time is obviously busier, leading Professor Eric all the way to the age of 35. Yes, time won't make him forget that both of them were 24 when he last hugged Joon Hee. Joon Hee was 25 years old when he and Professor Eric Haggard published sensational papers about the situation on the Korean Peninsula. In the eighth year of Eric's teaching, Joon Hee was still 25 years old. Most of the alumni of the GPS class of 2022 started families, but Professor Eric never got married. A good friend sent a message to invite himself to the wedding, knowing clearly that there would be waves in his heart, but he went anyway. That friend named asshole Aristotle, he and his lover ... Well, this guy didn’t marry himself eventually, that was out of my expectation. Professor Eric is afraid of Valentine's Day, and he is afraid of it all his life from the bottom of his heart, his eye and his bone marrow. But every Valentine's Day, there is no shortage of roses and forget-me-not on Sergeant Joon Hee's tombstone. On this day, the Seoul Military Cemetery always welcomes an American man dressed professionally and decently as a professor. His desk is as messy as Einstein's, but the picture frame with black-haired youth and blond men is always spotless, stunning and shinning like the light from his eyes the first sight Jone Hee ran into him outside of the classroom. "Professor, your graduation ceremony in 2022 slays! Who is this handsome Asian dude besides you? A friend to you is him?" Guess, I'll uncover the veil if your guess was correct. Eric laughed it off. It's his holiday, the secret he and his tacit understanding, the secret code and riddle of life and death.
  10. I've debated for the longest time to start up a forum on my first-ever adventure in writing, and after posting the 22nd chapter, and after the intense praise from the comments and hitting 30k views, I felt the need to create this. My story, Love in the Shadows, is a para-normal gay romance that follows an Alpha wolf shapeshifter, Mason Wilson, who quickly finds his destined mate, Vincent Bolton. Vincent, a mage capable of clairvoyancy and controlling ice and shadows, works at a grocery store. Living in the town temporarily, he continues to hunt down the evil mage that murdered his parents when he was nine-years old. As Mason attempts to woo his mate, Vincent continues to hone his skills, study more on the supernatural and magical worlds, and track down Stefan Gregoro, a maleficent mage who, also can control shadows, along with fire. As our two heroes develop their relationship, Vincent learns to integrate within the shifter community and get accustomed to Mason's accompaniment. The story involves deep romance, perilous fight scenes, and unexpected twists along the way. With this being my first story ever, I am seeking comments and criticism actively. I want to become a better writer. Plain and simple. Writing this story has been one of the only hobbies that I have kept up with. My hobbies usually end with me stopping halfway through and ending with abandonment. My thirst for writing has begun, and with this wonderful community around me, I ask to be given a shot. My hope is to create something that will inspire future endeavors in the writing community.

  13. First of all, I want to thank all of my readers, from those who read the first chapter and ran away screaming to those of you who re-read every chapter when I post new ones. I know it's going at a blistering pace, but I promise that once it goes up, the sequels (yes, sequels are coming!) will be a much slower pace of production. So, have at it. If there's anything you like, don't like or just want to get off your chest about The Last Out and its soon to be posted sequels, let it all out here. Most of you you will already know that I try to respond to every comment as soon as I can, so I look forward to interacting with my readers. Ciao, at least until the next batch of updates!

  15. This is a story forum for readers of my new story Kissing the Dragon (which I hope to build into a larger body of work going forward) to discuss themes and topics of the story. For those of you who may have found their way to this thread accidentally and not yet seen the story: https://www.gayauthors.org/story/lomax61/kissingthedragon Although this story has a very strong romantic theme, the genre is mystery/thriller in the mold of good old whodunits. The protagonist is a history teacher at a reputable boys school, and the setting is largely suburban London. Once again this a story about a person's emotional growth, this time against a backdrop of mystery when a seemingly normal and uneventful existence is turned upside down over one weekend by a tragedy close to home. So a message to all of you who enjoyed Uninvited Guest and those who decide to join the ride: Keep Looking For Clues. Brian
  16. [sharedmedia=stories:stories:5204] Since it's Easter and I just blasphemously posted a new chapter containing the smuttiest writing I've ever attempted, I thought I'd start a topic! Henrik is the NHL's first openly gay player, a celebrated hockey captain, and a private but very driven man. Ezra is a free-spirited aspiring artist facing a personal crossroads after being let go from his job. Both men only have 24 hours to get to know each other. Romance blossoms, but is Ezra's aversion to long distance relationships and fear of being hurt too much of an obstacle? Is Henrik's athletic career too high-pressured to accomodate a romance, and is he ready for his love life to be put under the media spotlight? Oh, the conflict, the drama, the Swedish accents... Let me know what you think of the story so far.
  17. Welcome! This is the discussion thread for The Art Of Being Gay. This story is based on two character sketches I wrote due to prompts. I'm doing something new to me. I've always developed a plot line and ending for my stories. This one is completely open and without an outline of any kind. I'm walking the tightrope without a net. I have ideas, images, and icons that have helped shape our identity. But I'm not sure where they will take Roy and Chad. Anyway, if you have suggestions or critiques, please share. I'm quite open to any help navigating and surveying these characters' pathway. Thanks for joining me on a journey into the unknown. The first two chapters have setup the scenario. And away we go! Cole
  18. Hey everyone! I'm posting here to hopefully try to generate some more interaction between myself and people about my story. I'm a very inexperienced writer, and any honest advice is appreciated (but that's not why I'm posting this). I'm hoping to spark up a conversation about how you feel so far about Muscle Memory. As a writer, my readers' thoughts and feelings are a big part of what fuels me to continue this story. Feel free to share anything, whether it's relating to a certain character or their experiences, how you feel about a certain situation, or just if you want to ask me anything about Muscle Memory specifically or even my writing general. So, to try and get the ball rolling, here is some random thoughts I've compiled about how this all came about: Muscle Memory is my very first attempt at writing fiction. Like, ever. Besides some poetry a few years back, I've never sat down and just written anything more than a few paragraphs, so starting this book was a bit daunting. Especially since I was just out of freshman year of highschool. I started the first chapter not really having any idea where it was going, but soon, a story started to take shape in my mind. Very quickly, I realized how much I loved characters. At times, I worry that there are so many in my book that they seem flat, or that there are too many for my readers to keep track of. It was definitely a risk going into my first writing experience with like 20 characters to juggle with, not to mention that I've basically made each character have something they are struggling with. Again, I worry that I'm losing depth by having so many different story arcs intertwining in my mind, but I also kind of love it. It's what I like in books. Another thing I wanted to mention is that somehow, I unexpectedly fell in love with the villain of my story. I love writing her, and I had lost hope for this story after, say, chapter 6, until one quiet night in late December, around 11 or 12, I was walking down this road and the song DNA by Lia Marie Johnson started playing through my earbuds. The song resonated deeply with me, and I also felt it tugging at something that I had put towards the back of my mind for 5 or so months. I realized that it was a newfound inspiration to give my character Alexa more depth. To do this, I felt as if she needed her own POV, which wasn't planned whatsoever. I've gotten pretty much only negative feedback on this, which saddens me, but now she is very important to the story as a whole. I've had people complain that it takes away too much from Wes and Ethan's story, which I disagree with. This is more than a romance to me. It's deeper. I feel that people who skip the Alexa chapters are missing an integral part of Muscle Memory. So regardless of how my readers feel, I still have a few more POV chapters planned. Anyway, I could go on for days about this, and that's enough rambling for now. Now it's your turn. What are your thoughts?
  19. If you like hysterical, oh, I mean historical romances then you might like something I've been writing. I started writing it last year but got bogged down in too many other things and wanted to finish The Seashell first. With that book finished I was able to add Souvenir back into my writing rotation. The story is a first person narrative in a diary style similar to Brandon Smiling and that's done purposefully. If you follow Brandon then you might enjoy Souvenir all the more for reasons you might catch as you read this memoir of Lord Cedrick Temple, Duke of Buckingham. I've tried to write this as a period piece with the time period covered being just before and during World War I in England. The language may be a little challenging, but hopefully enjoyable. It's a challenge to write but fun too. So, without any further adieu I bring you:
  20. In an article in the Boston Globe, Meredith Goldstein a Globe advice columnist (Love Letters) reveals that she is a big romance novel enthusiast. For someone who writes about love and gives advice, it is perhaps a no-brainer that such a columnist would be into romance novels. But there is a caveat, Ms. Goldstein does not like romance stories based in the city in which she lives. She, in this case, unfortunately knows well the city of Boston. What some authors may think to be a sexy location... well, she does not see those locations quite the same way. I can see her point but I don't entirely buy into it. I live in Boston and I've written a short romance story set in the Boston/Cambridge area (Promise and Opportunity - written nearly four years ago) for a prompt and I think it works fine. Also, I wouldn't mind reading a gay romance short story/novel set in the small town where I grew up. Why not? I would love to hear what your feelings are about romance stories set in your hometown. Can you just not get into it? Would it be a distraction from the pleasure of reading? Will you read just to see if you can gain some juicy gossip? Are you disappointed that no one has ever written a romance novel set in your hometown? What do you think? Meredith Goldstein article.
  21. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/quinndk/fireandicing/ It took me a year, but now that I finally reached chapter 3 of Fire and Icing I thought I'd start a forum thread for it! A recap: Logan is a cocky firefighter. Aiden is a resourceful but neurotic culinary student. Aiden's apartment is destroyed in a fire and he makes a deal with the local firehouse: if he can cook them a satisfying dinner that the crew likes, he can become their live-in cook. But hunky, self-absorbed Logan becomes both a distraction and unexpected temptation. Enjoy.
  22. I am in the process of writing the third story in the Lonestar Chronicles which has brought you Your Alpha, My Mate, and Lonesome Theta. I have started the next one in the series but have come to a road block as to a name for this story. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me possible story titles to consider to see if one of them is right for it. Here is the prologue for the new story. Prologue I watched the happily mated couples and my heart broke. In the eight years since I turned sixteen, I had not met my mate. I’m ashamed to say I didn’t wait for my mate before I became sexually active. I just hoped he wouldn’t be too mad at me when I found him. I prayed every day my Alphas would send me on a mission like they did Alex three years ago. I wanted the opportunity to find my mate, but I knew that if I stayed on pack grounds I wouldn’t find him “Louis, Alpha Jackson wants to see you,” said one of the she-wolves who were constantly throwing themselves at the available wolves. “Thanks.” I saved my spot in my book and got up to leave the room. “Louis, why don’t you meet me in my room when your done?” she asked. “Ruth, I have no intention of sleeping with you. I may have been a manwhore, but even I’m not that desperate.” I walked past her and headed down the hall to the Alphas’ office. The office door was open so I knocked on the door frame. Alpha Jackson looked up from the papers on his desk. “Come in Louis.” “You wanted to see me Alpha.” “Yes, I got a call from an Alpha in Washington that is in need of some help and I want you and Jeremy to go, along with some of our enforcers.” “When do we leave?” “First thing in the morning. Jamie will take you to the airport and you will fly into Seattle. There will be rental cars waiting for your group. Here is the information you need on this assignment. They have a wolf whose first mate is a bear. The bear was rejected but is now stalking his wolf mate.” ‘I can’t believe someone would reject their mate when I would do anything to find mine.’ “I’ll pack and be ready to go first thing in the morning,” I said. “The team will meet you in the dining room at seven in the morning, so be ready.” He handed me a folder of papers. “Go over this information so you can brief everyone over breakfast. You leave at eight forty-five to be on time to the airport.” “Yes, Alpha.” I turned and walked out of the office. I got to my room and sat at my desk to go over the papers so I would know what was going on and start to come up with a plan on how we could help. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much on the aggressor but the wolf being stalked was originally from the Blue Ridge Pack in Charlottesville, Virginia. I wondered if Jeremy knew him before he moved here with Alex, his mate. I decided to ask Jeremy in the morning before we left; he might be able to give me some insight or know what happened between this Tony and the mate he rejected. *** The next morning I was the last to arrive in the dining room. I saw a group of seven enforcers who would go with us. I saw Jeremy sitting next to Alex talking quietly between themselves. I couldn’t imagine how hard it was for Alex to let his mate fly thousands of miles away and deal with a rejected mate. “Okay guys, I’ve read over the paperwork Alpha Jackson gave me last night. Jeremy, do you know this Tony we’re going to help?” “Yeah, we grew up together in Charlottesville. He moved to Washington a few years ago when our friend Tim mated with a bear out there. When they went to Jon’s parents’ house Tony’s mate was there. After Tony found out his mate had actually tried to break Jon and Tim up, Tony was furious and hurt. His mate was actually there to get Jon’s mom’s help to come between Jon and Tim; it was then that Tony rejected Steve. He thought if Steve would try to break up a mated pair what was to stop him from straying from his mate.” “Have you heard from Tony recently?” “Yeah, I talked to him last night. Steve has been leaving messages on his phone, mailing him notes, and calling him at all hours of the day. A few days ago there was a sighting of rogues as they met with a stranger. The enforcers took several photos of the meeting and when Tony saw the first photo he pointed out that the stranger was actually Steve. That afternoon a note was delivered to Alpha Jeff. It said, ‘Give me Tony and your pack will be left alone.’ When they refused to hand Tony over to him some of the pack children started to disappear. To date, there have been five children taken and it is taking a toll on the pack.” “Is there any family we need to worry about protecting?” “His family is in Virginia and they could care less about what happens to him. When he told them he was gay they kicked him out. However, we do still have friends back there that will probably show up when they hear about this.” I glanced at my watch as I finished eating. I saw we had about forty-five minutes to get to the airport, we would make it if we left promptly. I stood and said, “Let’s get on the road. We can talk more on the plane.” I took my dishes to the kitchen and grabbed my bags from the front entryway. I waited for the guys and Kelly to gather. Ever since Jeremy and his sister had joined the pack she had become one of our fiercest enforcers and I was happy to have her on my team for this trip. It took us only a few minutes to get loaded into the vans and head off to the airport. *** Our flight took only a few hours and by four o’clock that afternoon, we were in the Alpha’s office. “Alpha Jeff, how long has this man been causing problems for your pack?” I asked. “He’s been hanging around for the last year, but its only been in the last couple of months that he has stepped up the stalking. Tony came to me when the letters started to appear in his mailbox with no postage stamp on them.” “Didn’t your border patrol recognize the unfamiliar scent? For that matter, how did rogues get close enough to steal children? Why did your men settle for taking pictures instead of capturing the men to question them?” “Now wait just one minute. My man took the pictures because he and his partner had split up to patrol. It would’ve been stupid to try to capture them by himself.” “They never should have split up. I get that you have a large territory, but you need to make sure you have enough wolves to patrol the lands.” “How dare you come in here and criticize without having all the information!” “You, yourself said they had split up, that was why the pictures were taken instead of apprehending the rogues and bear. Did you not just say that?” “I would appreciate it if you would give me time to completely explain what happened.” He took a deep breath and let it out, then continued, “They split up for the simple fact that there was an emergency in another quadrant and they didn’t expect there to be problems in that section. Normally, they stay in pairs and up until that point we didn’t know there were rogues in the area because they always stayed just outside our borders. However, we had a situation come up that needed more than two wolves and they were the closest to the ones in trouble. Yes, they showed poor judgement in splitting up, but I would rather they show caution when they know they’re outnumbered. The wolf that took the pictures called for help and waited for them to arrive.” “I’m sorry Alpha, I meant no disrespect.” “I understand you may not want to be here, but please try to work with us and not against us.” “Understood, Alpha. I will not let my irritation show and will try to make the best of a bad situation. I will work to the best of my abilities.” “Thank you, Theta Louis. Let me show you where you and your team will be staying while you’re here. I will have Tony come to the pack house for dinner so you can meet him and he can fill you in on exactly what is going on.” “Sounds good to me Alpha.” “Please call me Jeff,” he said while he stood to lead me out of the office and to where my team sat waiting for me. My team stood when we walked into the living room where they waited for me. “Thank you for coming to help us. Please follow me and I will show you to your rooms.” We climbed the stairs to the second floor and he started to point out the rooms. Everyone was split into groups of two to a room except for me. I was given a room by myself as I was the team leader and there was an odd number of men. *** I freshened up before I went down for dinner. I walked downstairs and the most delicious aroma tickled my nose, it smelled like pine and cherries. My stomach clenched and I began to worry that they wouldn’t accept me because of my past promiscuity. It didn’t matter to me that I had already made the decision to stop my playing around. I made it to the dining room and saw the most beautiful man in the world. There stood a man with jet black hair that seemed to have a blue tinge to it in certain light and hazel eyes that glinted like jewels as he happily talked to Jeremy and Jon. Jon and his mate had come to visit Jeremy and Alex several times in the past few years. In that time, I had gotten to know both of them and knew they were great guys. I could only assume that the man talking to them was Tony. He looked like he would come to my chin and I was six foot five. If the man was Tony, how could he be my mate when his mate was the one causing all the problems? I would need to speak to Alpha Jackson to see if he had heard about this happening before. “Louis, there you are, come meet Tony,” said Jeremy. I walked over to where they stood and the aroma got stronger the closer I got to them. He turned to the guys he was talking to and said, “Jon, I’m sure you remember Louis from the Lonestar Pack. Tony this is Louis. He was sent by Alpha Jackson to lead the team of enforcers to help with the situation with Steve and the rogues to get the children back and to get Steve to leave you alone.” He turned to me and said, “Louis, this is one of my best friends Tony.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Tony.” He just stood there and stared at me. “Oh man, of course, this would happen to me,” he mumbled. “Tony, what’s wrong man?” Jon asked worriedly. “I gotta get out of here.” He looked around quickly and immediately turned and walked quickly away with Jon calling out to him. Jon turned to me and said, “I’m sorry Louis. He’s never been like that before; he’s always been a friendly person. There’s not a rude bone in his body.” My heart felt like it had broken into a million pieces at the implied rejection of my mate. I gave Jon a small smile. “I’m sure he has a million things on his mind with all that is going on.” “I’m sure that’s what it is.” Dinner started to be brought in and laid out on the buffet table. “Let’s grab a plate and find a seat.” I tried to put on a happy face but I’m not sure how well that worked because Jon and Tim kept giving me weird looks for the rest of the night. After dinner Alpha Jeff called everyone together to try and come up with a plan on how to deal with the asshole that was bothering their pack. “I would like to introduce you to Louis and his team. They has come to us from the Lonestar Pack in Texas. Please make them feel welcome. Now, this bear must be caught and our children brought back home. I know this has been a trying time but we have to work together for this to work. Jon knows this area and he knows the one responsible for this,” said Alpha Jeff. “Steven is not in his right mind and I would guarantee that he is not working alone. He wants Tony, but Tony has rejected him as his mate, and before you start to blame Tony you need to know that he had reasons to reject Steven. We need to focus on the main point which is getting the children back safely,” said Jon. I could tell by the looks on some of their faces that what Jon said passed right over them and that they did hold Tony responsible and that they could cause problems. I would need to keep an eye on them because I wasn’t about to let anyone hurt my mate, whether he acknowledged the bond or not. I would do my best to keep him safe even if that meant moving to Washington and giving up my position in my pack.
  23. For discussion of themes and topics. The book can be found here: https://www.gayauthors.org/story/dodger/thecockneycanuck After 47 chapters and lots of drama I think it's time this story has a discussion topic where readers can interact with the author and each other. There are certainly plenty of situations, characters and emotions to bring up, and of course most of all Robbie the Cockney Canuck. Dodger has kindly given me permission to start this thread and has promised to be part of the discussion, so now is your chance to ask questions and make comments. I'm sure we'll have fun.
  24. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a big fan of creating threads for myself. It is part and parcel of getting your story out there though. However, I have been one of the many people reading and enjoying Daniel's first story. Granted I might be a bit prejudice because I am helping to beta the story but I think it is something well worth the read. In addition to it be Daniel's first work here, presently on its third chapter, it is his second language. So if you like horses, foreign lands, attractive men, bossy women, and tender moments give this story a try. Leave him some love and comments as you do. The story can be found here. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/daniel89/wherehorsesdance
