tips Can I send a message to more than one person?
Renee Stevens posted a question in ForumsYes. You can send a multi-person conversation by adding the name of each member you wish to message in the "to" field. Type the first name, select it from the options given, then type the next name and select it. Repeat for each person you want added to the conversation.
tips How can I send messages to other members?
Renee Stevens posted a question in ForumsOn each member’s profile is a button with an envelope and the word “Message”. Once you click that, it will bring up a floating message area. You can also click on the envelope icon in the site header area and click on "Compose New", then start typing in the member name of the person you wish to message in the "to" field. Options will be given based on what you are typing, and when you see the member name you wish to message, click on it to add that person to the message.
tips What is the envelope in the upper right corner?
Renee Stevens posted a question in ForumsThis is the site Private Messaging System (PM). To access your site PM’s please click on the envelope. That will show you the active messages you have received. Clicking the "compose new" button in the top right corner of the drop down box will open a pop up box to send a new message. Through that area you can send a PM to any member, as long as you know their username.Go to inbox takes you to the PM system to view your messages. The system has a predictive field, once you type the first three characters of the name, it will give you options to choose from and narrow it down the more you type.
tips What is the little bell icon in the upper right corner?
Renee Stevens posted a question in ForumsThis is your notifications. It is not a chat or message area. Depending on how you set your notifications, you will see a number there when you have new notifications, such as when an author you are following posts a new chapter, or when someone replies to status updates you create or comment in, etc.

Questions About Working with an Editor
Former Member posted a topic in Writer's Circle's WritersJust some questions to throw out there. I know most of the seasoned authors here utilize the services of an editor. I haven't writeen with an editor in a long time before I started Her Name Was Umbrella and now I have found myself with both a beta and an editor. It's kind of exciting and I've missed having someone seriously scrutinize my work and give me serious feedback. Don't get me wrong, I love blatant praise as much as the next person in the reviews, but it's also really nice to know that someone cares about your work enough to say "No, this sentence does not make ANY sense and you need to change it so that it has the desired effect." Maybe not in so harsh of words. But now I'm working with an editor and I'm finding that I have a lot of questions about etiquette and such. It's so much different from working with an editor in person (where my experience with an editor lies). How many runs are typically appropriate? What's the typical expected turnover? Is it better to just have technical editing done or more intense hack and slash? Currently, I'm on two runs with about 24 hours of turnover. My editor and I are in different timezones so it ends up working out at about 24 hours. But for two runs of rather intense scrutiny (I wouldn't call it hack and slash, but it seems like it's pretty intense, I'll have to ask him about the workload), is 24 hours too short? It IS about a week between updates, but there are so many things that I'm just not sure about. Any tips or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
