Saturday Myr revealed survey results that are driving a new format that will help authors and readers sift through the genres on GA to really drill down into both what is wanted for reading and what authors like to write (or wish to explore). How was your Valentines Day? I'll be honest, I didn't even know it really happened The advertising and hoopla seemed to be almost non existent this year, well to me it was. I did hear one couple I know went out for dinner yet still had over a two hour wait! Oh well, for those dead set Valentiners if you missed it I'm sure it will be back next year bigger and better. I know that all over the world there is different and crippling weather all the time. I would be remiss if I do not mention that everyone up here in the Great White North that are accustomed to winter, our hearts are going out to the Southern US that got walloped by a snow storm not seen in a long, long, long time. Millions without power, which in turn has left the absence of heat and water to so many. Burst pipes, people dying of carbon monoxide poisoning from burning just about anything to try to keep warm . We know that you are not used to this, but our hearts, our minds and our wallets are open to you all . If I could give anyone out there one known rule from Canada, when it gets really cold out, open every tap to a tiny trickle. This should prevent freezing of incoming and outgoing pipes. Nothing worse to make it though the cold and start to see some warming, and have all your pipes burst. Shall we move onto some more happy news brought to you by the GA News Blog? First thing first though. As you all know that we switched to a new format and a new contributor to the Ask an Author Feature. We would ask that everyone that might have a favourite story, to craft 3 questions and send them to Aaron @astone2292. Then he can build up some months of upcoming features! I'm so excited I just can't hide it I think I'm about to lose control and I think like it So September 1st came and went and I am so looking forward to our upcoming Anthology stories!! I know some are done and some are in the hands of our excellent proof team. It's been a busy week and our buddy @wildone has went out to the wilds on vacation. Somebody, somewhere forgot a little something... so I'm dropping this in and you'll have to check back later for more updates. -Myr Update: That somebody was, me Cia... and I developed a migraine last night and went to bed at 7:30 PM and slept for 11 hours. Isn't that always the excuse? 😉 Too much sun yesterday, and I'm not as good as Wildone to get a nasty burn and keep on working. He's a machine! My family rightly calls me a vampire, and we're on day 6 now of a heat wave of 95-100+ degrees. I hope everyone else is surviving the weather where they are at! Whew, getting this in by the hair of my chinny chin chin Even though I'm fair haired (in the summer my hair turns strawberry blond), I know I burn, and I do everything possible besides wearing a snowsuit, touque, and ski goggles in 30 C weather, but I still am burnt to hell tonight I mean, about a hour before I went out I took a shower and rubbed in a generous supply of SPF 30 Sport and then waited 10 mins and sprayed on SPF 50 Sport. Went down to my vehicle 5-10 mins later and put on some Deep Woods Off, ( think I saw a mosquito flying off with a small dog the other day ), and thought I was prepared for everything! Had a ball cap on and polarized sunglasses. Looking at myself in the mirror tonight the whole face and neck and ears are red except the eyes and top of the forehead. I now have a great farmers burn happening on the arms, and my one leg is red from the bottom of my shorts to the tip of my toes. Well the parts that were not covered by the sandal. Maybe I should wear my florescent green prosthetic leg tomorrow to see what kind of reactions I will get with the contrasting colours I took a cooler shower this evening so I'm not in too much pain at the moment, but not really looking forward to bed . How about you? I know everyone should be protecting themselves from the evil sun and not getting burnt or ever really... getting tanned. Are you a natural tanner, are you a burner? What SPF do you wear, if you wear it? Now onto the Wrap Up. We had a hot week not only outside, but here as well! Monday was one of my favourite days of the month.
