IF you wish to close your account, delete your personal information, turn off email notifications and leave.

If you wish to view the personal information the site has, you can go to Account Settings -> Security & Privacy -> Request PII Data

If you wish to delete your account, you must submit a support request: https://gayauthors.org/support/ or In Account Settings - > Security & Privacy - > Request Account Deletion

As a general rule, we do not delete content unless it contains personal information.

How do I change my Member Group?

New members will be prompted to set up their group when they join the site.
Once you have an active account on Gay Authors, you can change your member group between Member, Author, Poet and Editor. Current Members can change groups in their Account Settings:

If you have a special account such as Classic Author, you will not be able to change your own group.

Do I need a valid email to register?

Yes. New members are sent a validation email. If you do not supply a valid email address at registration you will not get the validation notice and will not be approved for membership. New members MUST click the link in the validation email.

Note: Yahoo.com Emails are banned because Yahoo frequently falsely reports Gay Authors emails as spam or blocks us.

Important- Your email account most stay active. If an email from Gay Authors bounces or is reported as spam, your account is automatically suspended until a new email account is provided.

You can change your email used to access GA and receive site notifications and newsletters through your Account Settings.

On a computer:

Click on the drop menu under your name in the upper right corner
Click on Account Settings
Click on 'Change' next to your email information, make changes, and Save

On a mobile device

Click on the "hamburger" or 3 horizontal bars in the upper right corner
Click on Account
Click on Account Settings
Click on 'Change' next to your email information, make changes, and Save

It is free to register as a member at Gay Authors.

Members have access to more stories, have less ads, can follow stories to receive notifications of new content, and can provide feedback to authors. (Feedback via reactions, comments and reviews are often the only compensation authors receive for their hard work)

Optional Premium Membership has a small monthly free that provides additional stories and no ads on site.

Yes. By clicking “I agree to he Terms of Use and Privacy Policy” to complete your registration, you are accepting the Terms of Service without demurrer, exception, or reservation.

This is in addition to entering Yes in the text box of the abbreviated Terms displayed.

If you do not agree to abide by the Terms of Service, simply hit the ‘back’ button to cancel your registration.

For Everyone: You can click "Contact Us" which is on the bottom of every page. Fill out the form to create a support ticket which we will answer as soon as we can.
For Registered Members of the site when you are logged in, you can post in the Help Forum.
You can open a support ticket by clicking on Support Requests and click on New Request button. Located under the Help Tab in the red menu bar and Support Requests in on the right under Help Links.

How do Notifications Work?

Notifications alert you to activities on the site.

You can control them by going to the menu on the upper right of the page:

As a general rule, when you follow content, you get notifications of that content (unless you choose otherwise).

Notifications follow the container rule:

If I follow a topic, I get notifications to new posts in that topic.

If I follow a blog, I get notifications to new posts in that blog.

If I follow a blog post, I get notifications to new comments on the blog post.

If I follow a story, I get notifications to new chapters (and chapter comments, if you set it that way)

If I follow an Author, I get notifications to new stories and chapters.

What do I do if I feel harassed on the site?

If you are feeling harassed, contact a moderator. If you are being harassed by a member of the moderation team, contact an Administrator. You can also use the report button which can be found on every post, story, blog, image, etc. Do not delete the harassing information. Every report is investigated. You may not know the results of the investigation due to privacy rule, but each is taken seriously and on its own merit.

In the top right corner on any page at GA, there is a gray button that says “Sign Up”.
Click that and follow the directions.
You’ll need to supply a valid email address. As part of the registration process you will be notified via email; you must respond to the verification process, or your account will not be fully activated. Once you validate the registration, you will become a Newbie and have access to your account and be able to post on our forums.

Any person under the age of thirteen (13) are not permitted to register at Gay Authors.

By registering at Gay Authors you are certifying that you are at least thirteen (13) years of age and that your participation at GA does not violate the laws of the location where you live.

Any account where it is determined that the member is under the age of 13 will be closed by the administrators.

How do I add a signature to my profile?

Click on 'Account Settings' in the drop menu by your name in the upper right corner
Click on 'Signature' in the column of options on the left side of the screen
Add whatever text or text links you wish to add or
Upload photo via the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files" option (I browse via the choose files option"
Select the banner you saved, wherever you saved it
Click on the plus sign inside the circle that appears in the uploaded image below the text editor to 'Insert into post'
Double tap on the image that appeared in the text editor
Use the pop up box to add the url (link to the author listing or story, for example), change the title, resize the image if necessary, change the alignment
Click update
Click save at the bottom of the text editor/uploaded images area.

Signature Content Rules:

Signatures must be under 200 pixels high.
Signatures may contain one “My Media” link and one line of non-wrapping text.
Signature file size must be under 100 Kb. Smaller is best (< 30 Kb recommended).
No links that give you something from user clicks (like game points, or website credits).
No offensive images or content (swearing, flaming, adult material, annoying flashing graphics*, etc).
No images showing the other user's IP Address, ISP, OS info, etc.No links that log a user out of this forum.
No more than one image (no matter the size) per signature.
No text above a font size of 5 will be allowed. 6 and 7 are too large.
Members of political organizations must state their affiliation in their signature.
All text (including all codes, links**, spaces, and image names) must not exceed 800 characters.All images, text, and blank lines COMBINED should be under 200 pixels tall.Text lines longer than 600 pixels are OK if they automatically wrap. However, text must NOT exceed 600 pixels.

*Annoying flashing graphics are defined as images that rapidly changes text or color to distract other members. Gif images that change are accepted if each image is constant for at least 3 (three) seconds.

** The website http://tinyurl.com/ may be used to shorten links to provide more space for regular text.
