I know, it's from february, but the implications..well..any proof/evidence/confirmation of life in would increase/reinforce/amplify the prospect of life on on other planets. And even(or especially) jupiter's moon's(or moon, more specifically europa) and saturn's enceladus(sp?). It's also one of the last unexplored frontiers on our planet. It could also help explain(or add onto current theories) how life began on earth.

 

*takes a trip to Antarctica....starts drilling towards Lake Vostok*

 

*suffers from hypothermia...and dies from asphyxiation x_x*
