Makani looked over at a balled-up, sleeping Charlie as he put the car into park. He was so mad on the two-hour drive back from Tallahassee; he wanted to beat Drew so bad over what he put Charlie through. Drew was nothing but a two-faced snake that was using Charlie for who knows how long. He turned Charlie’s car off and exited the driver’s side to get Charlie up and out of the car. “Hey, buddy. We’re home,” he said gently shaking him. “What? Oh, OK,” Charlie answered not making any eff
  2. Makani stretched out as he woke up. He looked at Drew and thought he was being very generous to share their last night together for the week with him. He started to tear up when he felt Drew pull him closer. “Hey, we’re here for you,” Drew told him. “It’s not that. It’s just the feeling of having someone close and caring for you. I thought I had what you do and look what happened.” “That can happen to any of us. Charlie and I grew up together. We’re practically brothers, definitely fam
  3. Makani woke up from one of the best sleeps he had in a long time. Yeah, the twins squirmed a bit but just having family around you was such a good feeling. The intimacy of sleeping together with the casual touches of another body and the hugs passed as the boys slept was just restful to him. Unfortunately, nature called and he had to get up out of the nice warm pile. The brown arm that held him was from someone older than the twins. He turned slightly and saw it belonged to Charlie. Makani
  4. I just write up the incident reports I'm working on better character development in my stories. One of the reasons for trying something here was because the folks here engage more than those that purchase any I may sell through my distributors. I've had good responses but I want to do better.
  5. I can do that! I'll add a prologue
  6. Joey stayed with Peni the whole rest of the day when they were at school. When Drew arrived at the Kaiwi’s place, he asked Charlie, “Can we sleep at home tonight?” “Sure.” Alani came over and gave Joey a hug, “Tough day at school? Your friends found out about your parents?” “Yeah. They meant well but each time they said they were sorry it hurt more.” “Oh, baby, it’ll do that for a long time. Just remember the good times. You know we are always here for you.” Dinner was q
  7. Like the time He's a great guy.
  8. The day passed slowly for everyone as they waited for the four o’clock meeting. Joey decided to go to school with Peni and the others. Charlie and Drew did some more shopping and cleaned the house and pool before picking up Joey early from school. The Kaiwis had everyone pile into their extended van for the ride to the courthouse. They were seated outside in the hallway until the bailiff directed them into the courtroom. “All rise. The Okaloosa County Family Court with the Honorable Ju
  9. Alani was in the kitchen getting the ingredients out for the bread when the four appeared in the kitchen. “Joey, here’s a few recipes for a couple of different easy breads. This one is a basic white bread, here’s the brioche you like, and this one is for whole wheat.” Joey pulled out the bread maker and cleaned the inside pan out. He was amazed that all it took was to measure out the ingredients and put them into the pan. “You need to get bread machine yeast from the market and more fl
  10. “I guess you’re Charles Hudson. Where’s Joseph?” she said pushing in. Kekoa got up and moved around the table. “Oh, good. The police are here,” she continued seeing him. “I’m Officer Kaiwi. I’m here to make sure Mr. Hudson’s rights aren’t violated. His attorney may also be on the way.” “You will still need to assist me in removing Joseph Hudson from this premise.” “Charlie is nineteen,” Peni chimed in. She looked at Peni and saw the immediate resemblance. “Ah, I see
  11. Thanks for the nice words. I appreciate all the responses
  12. Thanks for the kind words! I normally publish short stories and thought this would be a great place to try out writing a longer story. I wanted to concentrate more on characterizations.
  13. <<Charlie I need u home now>> Charlie’s brother, Joey, never texts like that. It had him worried. He noticed it was sent thirty minutes ago while he was still in class and his phone was in airplane mode. “Joey, what’s wrong?” he asked when Joey picked up. “A cop was here.” “A cop?” “He wanted to know if there were any other adults that lived with me.” “Were you partying too loud, bro?” he asked with a giggle. “Charlie, he had me worried.” “Is h
