"What time will your dads get here on Saturday night?” Marty asked as he sat at their kitchen table and shuffled paperwork from their months of wedding plans. “Well, they’ve been talking about doing the drive in one day, so if they can get up at around 5 a.m. like my pop said they would, and get out of the house by six, maybe they arrive by six or seven in the evening, if things go OK,” Peter replied. “Dad won’t let pop drive for too long, and he’ll probably make him take naps while they

Besides 'Mickey' as a sort of sequel, there is a prequal to this story called 'Connections.' I need to work on it with my editor, Tony, but I'll be publishing that here, too. But it will take some time, as it was my first story before I knew about editors so has some rough spots. 😁

It was hardly an offer that Peter could refuse. The ever-scheming Rick, his agent, conspired to get him what could only be considered a first rate assignment: to go to Milan to walk for one of the annual fashon shows during his spring break. ‘Wow! How did he do that?’ Peter thought. ‘I’m a nobody in this business. If I can do the winter coats for a catalog, I’m lucky. But this is stuff at the top of the profession. Why me?!’ “You’re a lot better at this than you think you are,” Rick ha

Marty often remembered the comment that Jeremy had later made about Peter looking like a ‘sausage’ that cold winter day when he was dressed to leave Jeremy’s apartment, completely bundled up by Marty in his parka and scarf before he was allowed to return to the cold outdoors. He silently laughed about it to himself as he was lying in bed that night and had to admit that Jeremy was right. Peter did look like a sausage! Or a few other things. Jeremy’s sense of humor served him well. It took a

"So, what did you think the first time you saw him?" Jeremy asked. They had both settled into the two pieces of living room furniture that didn’t have clothes or books on them - Marty on one end of the couch, and Jeremy laying back in a big lounge chair, his one foot hooked over the thick leather arm. "We should talk about you, Jeremy. Pete and I are, you know, a different thing. I want to talk about what's going on with you and all. We can talk about Pete and me some other time." Th

Because he had committed to so many interviews for a winter break research project back in his hometown of Los Angeles, Jeremy had only returned to school the evening before classes were to start. It didn’t give him a lot of time to readjust from 70 degrees and sunny to the biting cold of the Massachusetts winters, but seeing his friends again and looking forward to interesting classes more than made up for it. There was one thing that was dragging him down, though. As much as he was looki

The waiting area outside the emergency room had been recently renovated into the facsimile of a fancy hotel lobby with features such as comfortable leather seats, plants, and even a small fountain to soften the mood. Returning from the vending machine alcove, Marty had his hands filled with bottles of water while Angie accompanied him with a variety of protein bars, chips, and a small bag of peanuts. Peter, the former night-owl, was slumped in an overstuffed leather chair in the seating area cl

Hi Weinerdog, Parents who started early and their youngest is in college. 😁

“So does this strap go over here or over here?” Peter asked, waving the small plastic handle in the air at Marty, who was on the side of the car strapping in his niece. “Like this,” he replied, unbuckling the metal clip and then reconnecting it and the multiple straps across her Minnie Mouse shirt. “Does that make sense?” “Oh, yeah, I get it now,” Peter replied. “I’ll have Bik check me out here, but I think it’s right. Just as the words came out of his mouth, he glanced over and

Hey pvtguy, there are more chapters in this story. And, upcoming, a prequal about Peter's parents. I hope that qualifies as another volume 😁

After helping Brad at the grill, Marty was able to sit down again and join Peter and his Aunt Hana at one of the picnic tables. Every time he saw her, she still captivated him. Besides being Peter’s aunt in the constellation of the family, she was also the egg donor for his conception. It fascinated Marty how he could see Hana’s features in his face. The mouth, maybe the forehead and cheeks. It was kind of hard for him to say exactly what, but the parts were there. He even seemed to have

Hey Weiner dog, FF, thanks for the comments...Peter's trigger is usually with Marty, where he can actually get weak and break down but know he will be OK. Regarding Marty's family, he doesn't have much of one but there might be some coming up 😔

“When do you think that everyone will get here?” Marty asked. Together with Peter and his dads, they had all spent the entire day getting ready for a combination going-away-party for the guys and a celebration of the new - and future - kids in the family. Even though they were all wearing the lightest and thinnest summer clothes, it was so hot and humid that everyone’s shirts were stained with sweat on all sides, especially Peter’s. He had spent most of the morning either working on the e

Hi Wienerdog, I'm not sure of the question about the 'other kids?' Not sure who that is, but I even forget my own plots sometimes!

"Hey you all, could we talk in the kitchen?" Mike yelled to the guys who were upstairs in their bedroom. It was Saturday morning a week after their return from New York. Angie was at Todd's softball game, so it was just Mike and them at home. Marty, like Peter, was immediately on his guard. "What's happening?" he quickly responded. Mike then heard the thunder of two pairs of college feet bounding down the stairs. "Did something happen to Laura?" Peter asked as they both yanked the sto

Within a half-hour, there were already more than a dozen messages from friends and family congratulating Bik and Laura. "Wow, there are messages all over the place!" Marty replied as he also mentioned the tweets and emails going back and forth. "Twins! He was holding out on us!" Peter said while he hit the auto speed dial again for his Pop. It was his fifth or sixth time - he couldn't remember - but the line was always busy. He was about to put the phone down when he finally heard a

Peter was in a flannel shirt and jeans, complimented by leather cowboy boots and a brown belt, far out of character for him. Marty thought it was kind of a nice look, sort of a classic mountain boy but with a hearing aid. Still, the haircut was special. It wasn’t anything wild. In fact, it was somewhat conservative with a bit of gel at the front to create kind of a ridge to accent his forehead. But it was so careful and scrupulously done that he couldn’t help but be impressed. He knew righ

While Marty was spending the first weeks of the summer out in the garage woodshop, Peter was preparing, in his own way, for the coming modeling gig. Trying to give the photography director the option to style his hair into as many looks as possible, his agent asked him to give up haircuts for at least 8 weeks. For a guy who never let his hair go for more than a month or so without getting it sheared, it was now becoming something of a minor nuisance. “Not a bad job,” Marty remarked. “You

His eyes were heavy and barely able to open, Marty looked over at the clock on the table. It was 2:13 a.m. As he got his nocturnal bearing, he realized that Peter had once again pushed himself up against him. Even though Peter seemed to have overcome his old insomnia, this behavior was something that he had been doing on and off since they were sleeping together. And he was only aware of the times it had awakened him. How many other times he was tossing and turning like this, Marty had

“Hey! How ya doin’ guys?!” Peter cried out as the dogs barked, jumped, and generally went crazy as he pushed open the heavy, fortress-like front door. “Whoa! Take ‘em outside, Peter! They’re going to start peeing all over the place again!” his dad called out as he ran down the stairs and into the foyer. “OK, OK,” he replied as he backed-up onto the tile covered outside porch, a mischievous smile appearing on his face as the dogs followed him out and continued to climb all over him. “

Hi Paqman, pretty good, but I was picturing Christoph a bit younger, around 30 or so, a real go-getter who advanced quickly in his career.

His eyes opened slowly as they got used to the early morning sunshine of late May. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky as the light streamed in through the thin window curtains of the attic bedroom that they now shared. And just the movement of the bed told him that Marty was already up. After a semester of living together, it was the most subtle things that he began to notice. When he was alone in bed, his own motions would jostle the mattress in a certain way, but when Marty was there the in

Weinerdog, it's just that he has no tension at all when he's around Marty, he' super relaxed, enough to just fall asleep 🙂

“I think hear someone coming in downstairs,” Peter exclaimed as he looked up at Marty, who was straddling his body. They both had most of their clothes still on, but didn’t plan on being that way for long “Hey, you can hear pretty good!” Marty replied as he stared back down at him, “I could barely hear that!” Peter accepted the encouragement but knew better than to credit it to his ears. “Well, I actually barely heard it, but I could feel the house vibrate from that big front door.
