  1. Day Fourteen Jacky groaned as he swam his way through the dark mist that ensnared his mind and body. He tried to move his head, but the sharp stabbing pain in his neck stopped him. Groaning again, he opened his eyes, the overhead lights sending spears of pain lancing into his brain, and causing him to scrunch his eyes closed. He heard footsteps moving quickly from his side and when he heard a click, he knew that someone had turned the overhead lights off. Slowly, tentatively, he opened his l
  2. Rednecks 0, High Tech 1 Day Ten Jap, Jacky, Gerry and Kyle, along with the James brothers were eating lunch after spending the last four hours on the 1,000 meter rifle range. The James brothers were the spotters for Jap and Jacky as well as being part of the security detail for the two snipers when they were deployed. After being spotters and part of the security detail for so long, both of the James Boys felt comfortable in the positions they were assigned to. Neither boy had wanted t
  3. Jap and Jacky smiled, both nodded their heads in understanding and then turned back to Gerry and Kyle; "You guys ready to pop some caps?" Kyle nodded his head in agreement, a second later Gerry followed suit. The expression on his face told everyone he was unsure, but he knew that his younger brother wouldn't steer him wrong. The four boys left the trailer and went over to the parking area where there were several HUMVEE's parked; Jacky climbed in the drivers' side and started t
  4. 02:40, Day Four Six hours later, five boys, three parents, four other adults and six bodyguards walked out of the main hospital entrance. Marc and Jacky had been wheeled there by two of the hospital orderlies. Marc had his left arm in a sling because of a pulled muscle in his shoulder and Jacky was on crutches due to a severely sprained left ankle. The two boys had undergone X-Rays, MRI's and Catscans during their time in the hospital. Jacky was unhappy because his dad chewed hi
  5. Jap put his arm around his lover and told him all about Erick and the rest of the New Jersey group. On the way down to the mess decks, they decided to take them out to the hangars and show them around the facilities after supper. Being Saturday of a two day weekend meeting, the mess decks were fully staffed by Jason Tembler's catering people, which included a four star chef. Better food could have been served, but only in places like New York, San Francisco, London or Paris. While some of th
  6. Day Three (continued) The Boeing 737 continued flying west, the actual fight time was four hours twenty two minutes, during that time they crossed through four time zones. When they finally crossed into Washington State, they picked up the transponder for the Bateman International Airport and set in the radio frequency the Jepp Sectionals (basically, aeronautical road maps) specified for landing instructions. The flight crew never having heard of Bateman International
  7. The Kombat Kids combine with the Boys of Somerset Farm to pay back Murder, Destruction and Pain. Lots of Pain.
  8. Day One It was the Sixth of June; it was the dark of the moon and a Kenworth hauling hogs . . . . . . . Oops sorry, too much early 70's music. But it was the Sixth of June, 03:10 in the morning to be exact and there was a new moon. The AN/SPS 48 Surface Search Radar that had been newly installed on the Eastern Fort at the entrance channel to the 'Pincher's' wasn't operational yet. The lone lookout that evening wasn't paying attention to his duties and that's why he died. The Cuban 'Armad
  9. Looking back at the events that shaped the Unit and the party that was almost two weeks ago, James stood in the hallway watching as the last of the Squaddies followed Matt to the third deck and the arms room. He squared his cap on his head and headed up to the first floor and on to the range, remembering both the good and the bad times he had experienced since the Unit came in to being. Sighing, he climbed into a HUMVEE and drove out of the garage and out to the rifle range, a slight smile on
  10. After the debriefing of the exercise was completed, Adrian and Cam sat in the back of the Cavern and watched as the Colors were posted and the P.O.D. (Plan Of the Day) was read. When the members of the Unit were given their assignments and as the Cavern slowly emptied, they sat talking to each other about what they'd seen and heard. They became aware of the two Bateman brothers approaching them followed by a teenager who looked to be about fifteen. As the two men and the boy drew near, Cam and A
  11. Five days after the party held for the military, their family's and the Unit One members who helped bring Jap back to the Unit; Jap woke before the alarm clock went off. Reaching over his lover, he turned the clock off so that it wouldn't alarm, then lay back staring at Jacky's face, still feeling the guilt of breaking his nose. During the night Jacky had kicked the covers off both of them and was laying on his back, looking down Jacky's body, he smiled at his lover's morning woody. Moving slowl
  12. Steve, Matt and General Stanton had talked about Jap after the Gunny had gathered him into his arms and carried him through the gate in the hedge. The Gunny had cradled the still sobbing boy to his chest and spoke to him softly as he climbed into the first HUMVEE in line. As the three men watched the large vehicle drive off, James joined them. Speaking to Steve he suggested; "If you'll go along with us, I'd like to keep him at our place for a while. I think that Matt and I, along with the oth
  13. Matt stared at the letter for a minute then re-read it. Placing the beer bottles on a tray, he went back into the lounge, but instead of handing the beer to everyone; he placed the tray on a coffee table and sat down. Keener saw the shocked expression on his lover’s face and became concerned; "Matt, you okay? What's the matter with you, you look like someone shot your dog?" Matt handed the letter to Keener and then got up and went to the computer room. Closing the door, Matt picked up the tel

    Gotcha

The de-briefing for the exercise only took about an hour; the Special Forces troops occupied a small portion of the available chairs in the Cavern. The Green Berets displayed the demeanor more closely associated with teenagers than adults. Pissed off, embarrassed and just plain unhappy about how the exercise had gone down. On the other side of the isle the four boys who had acted as the 'bait' for the ambush looked to share the same feelings as the 'Berets.' Jap sat on the isle chair, slou
  15. While Jap was at the rifle range using his little boy persona to fuck with the Marine's minds, Colonel Dalton was in the main lounge. General Stanton, the three enlisted Marines and Matt were discussing how they would be able to fit the Army into the busy Unit schedule. Keener entered the conversation by posing the question; "How about mixing the A Teams with the Unit? That way both the boys and your men would get some training and the Marines would be able to train at the same time." The G
