I know
I know
This small smile
You don’t see
This passion spring
You don’t feel
This night’s slumbering
You don’t share
This forgotten awakening
From withering dream
To gripping hands
Spilling desires
You don’t know
All
For never been
And even sadder endings
My forever to forget
This remembering knot
Prying nails and trying angles
Competing to dry cries
Of closing ways
To unshared joys
Countless broken carousals
Arousals going nowhere
Because what is love
But opening
What is love
But pain
Because what is love
But risk
What is love
But life
Because what is love
But death
And I have heard
The wild sounds of love
And I have seen
The wild tempest of love
And I have walked
The wild edge of love
So knowing
love has been a wing
So feeling
love has been a sting
So confident
love did sing
Deluded hope
Enduring need
Leaves me to walk
The wild side of love
Alone
Again
Not for you
I know
I know
I’m not the one
