My Favorite Cop - 1. Story

My Favorite Cop

By

~Rush~

“Hey Leo!” A voice shouted from in the distance when I opened the door of the Café I had just walked out of.

I turned in the direction from where the voice came from to see my best friends’ arms waving in the air, trying to get my attention while running toward me.

I stopped on the sidewalk in front of the Café’s window to wait for him.

There were not that many people walking around the small town we lived in.

“Hey Nick.” I said to him once he was close to me.

“Hey, did you hear the news?” Nick asked.

“What news?” I said back to him.

“Dude! Sadistic Hero’s is gonna be playin’ at the spring fest. They’re looking for some local acts to open for them! This is our chance to be heard! If we’re chosen and they like us enough, then maybe we could open for them at other gigs,” Nick said, wide eyed and full of excitement.

“Man, that sounds sweet!” I replied, the same excitement in my own voice.

“We need to go tell the other guys and hurry start practicing immediately.”

I had parked my car right in front of the Café, so we climbed in and went searching for our other band members.

We stopped at Gary’s house first, letting him know we were having a meeting and to come with us. After leaving Gary’s house and went to Matt’s apartment where we all gathered to tell them both the good news.

Gary’s dad owns a large single story building that is divided into different shops, including a mechanics, a body shop, a carpet outlet and a couple of offices. He let us have the farthest one on the corner where we usually practice after we get off work. You’ll usually find us there at around 6:30PM almost every night until around midnight unless one of us has a date or something. That works perfect since the shops close at 6:00.

On our third night of practice we heard a loud knock on the large garage door. Startled by the sound, I went to see who it was. Raising the door above my head, I came face to face with a grinning man in uniform. Badge on the side of his chest, radio on his shoulder, gun on his hip and I was pretty sure the hand cuffs were hanging somewhere on his uniform. Taken by surprise, my eyes popped open.

Officer Brock Glasscock started laughing hysterically when he saw my reaction.

“You dickhead.” I said to him.

Brock starts laughing even harder. Little did he know that the reason why I was taken by surprise was not because of the loud knocking but because I was not expecting him. My heart was beating faster than lightning can hit a tree! I mean, seeing him on the road was one thing but it was totally a different story seeing him here, at the place where our band practiced.

“You looked like you saw a ghost! You should’ve seen the expression on your face!” He said between his manic laughter. Seeing him like that was kind of contagious so we all started laughing, yeah, at my expense! Still, I had the most pathetic grin on my face!

Once we calmed down Brock asked “Can I come in and watch you guys practice?”

I looked him in the eyes and gestured for him to come in saying “Sure, that way we’ll have free security.” What he doesn’t know, I think, is that I wished he could be here every night, that way I could spend more time with him.

As he comes in Matt said “Hey man, where’ve you been?

“They had me working morning shift for the past month but now I’m doing 4 ‘til midnight.” Brock replies. Luckily it was just past midnight and we still wanted to do a couple more songs before heading home.

“Oh, kool. We’re doing a couple of songs then we’re outta here and since it’s Friday and neither one of us has to work tomorrow we’re gonna go over to my place and chill for a while. Wanna come with?” I asked Brock.

“Sure, I’m not working ‘til four so I don’t have to get up early,” he answered.

I grabbed my guitar and went to stand in front of the mike ready and focused to start another song which has a fast beat.

The garage has several old couches and chairs which were donated to us by friends and family since sometimes, usually on the weekends, those same friends and family members like to watch us practice. To them it’s like having a free concert, or so they say.

For the last song, I chose a song with more of a slow beat.

Mockingbirds Song

As I wake up each morning

The first thing I hear is a beautiful song

I’ve called out your name so many times

The Mockingbirds already know it by heart

They sing your name

They sing your song

You left without a warning

Without even saying goodbye

You broke my heart

Now I’m here all alone

All I have is your memory

To fill my days as I go along

Thoughts of your hands

Traveling through my body

The kisses that will never come

Your tongue inside my mouth

The shivers that drove me wild

I will continue living my life

Knowing you’ll never come around

It’s 2AM and I can’t sleep

My mind keeps wandering toward you

Can’t stop thinking of the love

I could be giving you

I want you to stand by me

I need you to be with here with me

And all I can think of

Is making love to you...

Brock was conveniently sitting on a chair right across from where I was standing. While I’m singing our eyes are locked together. He’s looking at me while I’m looking at him, and I wonder if he can tell that I’m singing this song with him in mind. Luckily the other guys were standing behind me and to the sides not able to see my face, only Brock was witness of the thoughts and ideas that were clearly visible on my face.

We finished our practice, locked up the place and left for my house. Once there, we began making plans for the audition in a few days, while drinking some beer and having fun. It wasn't long when the guys were complaining of being tired and decided to head home.

Since I drove Nick, Gary and Matt over to the garage, they didn’t have a way to get back so I let Nick drive my car and drop the others off letting him know I would be picking it up in the morning.

Now, with just Brock and me left in the house tension kind of took over. I’ve always teased Brock about his last name so to kind of break the ice I started my bantering.

“Very interesting name you’ve got there Mr. Brock Glasscock.” I said to him with a big grin on my face. Of course, he already knew I was going to start teasing him.

Putting his left hand behind his waist he says, “You know, I could arrest you for mocking a police officer,” He teases back.

“Promise? ” I said with a bigger grin and an innocent look in my eyes. “You know I love Brock~li & Cheese.”

Grabbing my arm and pulling me toward him he says, “And only you know my name could either be edible or enjoyable.”

As I heard the words and my surprise at his actions, my eyes shot wide open. He noticed I was taken by surprise by the comment and his unexpected actions and thought he should not have said the words out loud, letting out an almost inaudible “Sorry” with his eyes still fixed on mine.

After hearing his reaction and seeing his embarrassment I let out a small giggle, letting him know it was OK, I was not disappointed. At that moment, the look on his face was too cute for words.

“Well, I like it either way.” I said to him as I moved even closer to him, holding the back of his head and for the very first time since we met, finally kissed.

The feel of his lips touching mine was like an electric storm where the lightning bolts emitting out of him were hitting me in every crevice of my body, every pore, every hair. His lips felt so soft, barely touching mine. The passion grew more intense until breathing was a difficult task. Lips were everywhere, tasting, experimenting, learning a new adventure. Our hands didn’t know where or when to stop, they were like convulsing bodies, teasing, caressing, loving everything in their path.

Separating our lips momentarily, “Oh gawd Brock, you have no idea how long I’ve been wanting this.” I said to him.

“Me too Leo, me too.” Brock said as his lips were devouring my neck, licking, sucking, leaving his mark on me. At that moment, I was his and I knew he was mine.

Then our lips went back together searching for more of the pleasure that was surely carrying us to levels we knew were going to take us to a state of ecstasy and the inevitable.

I started walking toward my room while guiding him walking backwards. Once there, I waited for him to unbuckle his holster and he laid it on the dresser.

I wasn’t waiting any longer, I started unbuttoning his shirt ever so slowly, teasing him but at the same time admiring his body. He soon caught on and started doing the same to me. When it came to the pants we both quickened in our haste to explore the unfamiliar. We stood there, gazing at one another. With a look of apprehension on our eyes, we knew we weren’t ready to go any further, yet. I gave him a push backwards onto the bed.

“Get in” I said with a smile. We both climbed into bed and he settled with an arm around my waist. My back was flushed against his chest, thighs pressed together. I had no complaints, it felt like they belonged there. I reached over and turned the lamp off. I snuggle back in, real close to him. I felt a kiss on the back of my neck.

“Good night” he said, pulling me tighter towards him, making sure that I wouldn’t escape.

It was a dream come true. I’ve been dreaming about this moment since the day we met about a year ago when he’d pulled me over for speeding. That day was the beginning of my fantasy. The moment my eyes met his I knew I wanted to know all about the man whose eyes felt like they were smiling at my soul, warming my heart. We ended up talking for over 30 minutes by the side of the road. When we parted, I had given my address and phone number and I had been given his and no ticket!

Life is Good!
