Our First Christmas - 1. Our First Christmas

Set in 2003, Scott is about to spend his first Christmas with his boyfriend. This story features characters from my ongoing series 'Moving On', but takes place eight years before the series begins. Prior reading of 'Moving On' is not required.

I was having the most wonderful dream. I can't recall all of the details, but I was floating through the air. Suddenly, I was awash in the most glorious sensations emanating from my groin. As suddenly as it appeared, the feelings disappeared.

"Scott, wake up," I heard a familiar voice tell me. I knew who was speaking; I just hadn't quite made the connection yet.

Before I could, the sensations returned in full force. I felt myself strain against the mattress as I became more aware of my surroundings. I was in lying in the near-dark of the guestroom in my parent's basement. The only light came from a nightlight by the door. I felt the warm and familiar mouth pull off of my straining cock again. I let out a slight groan as the intense pleasure dissipated.

My favorite mop of black hair popped out from under the sheet, and I quickly pulled my boyfriend up for a deep kiss.

"Mmm. Morning, baby." I moaned. "Oh, sorry…morning breath," I added, quickly trying to cover up my mouth.

He just laughed as I stared into his beautiful brown eyes. "It can't be any worse than my cock breath."

Without hesitation, he leaned into me again, pressing his entire body against mine as we began to war with our tongues. I quickly discovered that before he started teasing me, he had stripped naked. I knew we went to bed fully clothed. I realized that he must have worked my shorts off of me without waking me, but I was still clad in my shirt.

I slid my hands down his back and cupped his firm ass cheeks in my hands. Suddenly I panicked and broke the kiss.

"But what about my parents? What if they hear?" I asked worriedly.

"First off, they let us stay in the room together. They're not stupid; I'm sure they know what might go down. Besides, we are about as far away from everyone else as we can get. I mean, I haven't tested the acoustics out, but if you want, I can holler for your mom and see if she comes running!"

I laughed in spite of my concerns. "No, don't," I cautioned, knowing full well that he would be easily tempted to do so.

"I guess you're right, babe. I just don't want to get in trouble, or something," I added.

"Scott, baby, relax. You're nineteen, and it's Christmas Day. You really think your parents are going to throw you out of the house for accepting a present on Christmas?"

"Oh, so now you getting me off counts as a 'present'? Do you want a 'thank you' card, too? Maybe I should start writing the cards now, you know, for all the times in past!"

I began to jokingly push him off of me, but he just pinned me down and firmly pressed his lips against mine again.

I moaned against his lips before gasping, "I love you so much, Steve!"

"I love you too, babe. Now, I'm not letting you go anywhere until we finish what I started! Besides, by 'present' I actually meant depositing my load in your sexy ass. You realize we haven't actually had a chance to have sex since we got clean bills from the health center, right?"

I definitely hadn't forgotten. Since we had started our relationship, we'd been monogamous and always used condoms. About a week before finals began, the school's health center had offered free STD screening and we jumped at the chance. By the time the results came back, however, we were busy spending all our time cramming for finals, and Steve had gone home as soon as he'd finished his last one. He arrived in town the night before just in time for dinner before going to church with my family.

"How could I forget? I've been waiting in antici—" I cut it off, knowing how much that line from Rocky Horror pissed him off.

"Oh, fuck you!" he half-yelled with a laugh. He grabbed my hands and held them above my head with one hand while he began to tickle me mercilessly with the other. "Say it, you bastard!"

"Never!" I said defiantly between gasps and giggles.

"Very well," Steve said, releasing my hands and making his voice sound serious before adopting a very bad German accent. "Vee haff vays uv making hyu tok!"

"Someone watched Raiders while he was home," I teased.

Dropping the act momentarily, he just glared at me for a moment before saying, "Oh hush, you. Don't ruin my fun!"

He lowered his lips to mine, but pulled away at just the last second. He teased me this way a few times before slowly moving to my neck. His lips barely made contact each time before he pulled away. It was driving me crazy with desire, but still, I refused to give in. He began to repeat the process down my chest, and I audibly gasped each time I thought he was going to take one of my taught nipples into his mouth, but again he pulled back just before making contact.

He continued down my body until he reached my straining cock. One fake-out was all it took before my last bit of resistance wore down.

"Oh, God! Pation! Pation! I can't take it anymore!" I gasped, clutching at the sheets with all my strength.

Steve looked up at me with a twinkle in his eyes. "And that's why I always win," he said seductively with a sly grin. "I fight dirty."

Before I could respond, he lowered his mouth as far as he could without gagging. Granted, he managed to take only about half my cock, but it was definitely an improvement over when we started dating. In my days before Steve, I'd been with more than one guy who could take the whole 8.5 inches without hesitation, but Steve had a gag reflex like none I'd ever seen before. One time, he gagged so hard while just brushing his teeth that he puked! After lots of practice, he'd gotten a lot better, and I certainly couldn't complain about what he did with what he could get in his mouth!

He bobbed up and down a few times, before pulling off. My throbbing cock slipped out of his lips with an audible 'pop'. Steve slowly licked down the length before gently sucking on one of my balls. I spread my legs and he pulled them up, exposing me fully as he began to lick closer and closer to my hole. I moaned, anticipating the pleasure I was about to experience, but just before he made contact, we were interrupted by someone rapping at the door.

"Scott, c'mon. Quit fucking, or whatever gross shit you two are doing. I wanna open my presents and Mom won't let me until you guys get your asses upstairs," my fifteen-year-old brother, Ethan complained. I thought I heard him also mutter 'fucking faggots', but wasn't sure if it was my imagination or not, since the door did a good job muffling noise.

I jumped out of bed and quickly threw on my discarded pair of shorts while Steve pulled the sheet up to his neck, lying on his side as if he'd been asleep. A glance at the clock next to the bed confirmed that it was just before 8:30. I quickly walked to the door and opened it just far enough to shoot the little twerp a death-glare.

"Eth, we agreed last night that we'd get up at nine to start opening presents. I haven't seen my boyfriend in over a week. Can't I spend a little time alone with him without you acting like a little shit? Besides, all we were doing is talking!"

He just rolled his eyes at me and said "Whatever," in a dismissive tone.

"I don't even get why he's here," Ethan added, seemingly out of left field.

I realized that this might be a conversation that wasn't really something for Steve to eavesdrop in on. I'd fill him in if necessary later. I stepped out into the basement and shut the door behind me.

"Because he's my boyfriend and we want to spend Christmas together," I answered, feeling my temper beginning to flare.

"But why are you even with him?" Ethan asked.

"What the hell does that mean?" I demanded

"Duh, he's a fag, in case you didn't notice!"

I sighed and bit back the anger that was rising. I hadn't even been awake ten minutes and was already catching shit. On Christmas, no less. Instead of taking the bait, which is what my brother clearly wanted, I decided to try to diffuse the situation.

"Ethan, we've been over this. Don't say 'fag'. Besides, if he is, than I am too."

"No you're not. You're my brother, and I know you. You're no fag."

"That doesn't even make sense. As I told you over a year ago, I'm gay. I'm attracted to men. That means I date men, and in case you didn't notice, Steve is a man."

Ethan just rolled his eyes again. "Whatever, you don't get it."

"Ok, then explain it to me. What don't I get?"

"I get that you're gay. That doesn't bother me. You're cool, you're not a fag. Steve isn't, so he's a fag," Ethan said, looking as though I was stupid for not understanding him.

"So let me get this straight: you think Steve's a fag because you don't think he's cool. The fact that he likes men is completely irrelevant?" I was a little incredulous, but it almost did make sense to me in a weird – and slightly offensive – way.

Ethan seemed to think I'd said exactly the right thing. His eyes lit up as he responded, "Exactly!"

I frowned. "Eth, that shit don't fly."

The grin on his face disappeared immediately. He tried to respond, but I didn't let him as I took a moment to gather my thoughts.

"Think of it this way," I finally said, "Would you ever call someone the 'N-word' to refer to them as being lazy or unsophisticated?"

"Of course not!" Ethan exclaimed, looking appalled at the thought.

"Even if you can separate out the racial implications of the word with the social implications that it holds, it's impossible for the emotions that word conveys to ever be used that way, right?" I explained, guiding him to my point.

Having never been mentally challenged this way, Ethan thought for a moment before nodding.

"'Fag' is the same thing. You may think it's appropriate to use it to mean something other than the traditional usage of the word, but that doesn't mean that you're not hurting people when you use that word, including myself."

"But I've heard you on the phone saying things like 'us fags' and stuff like that. Why would you use it if it hurts you so much?"

"Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I think gay people tend to use it amongst each other partially so it numbs us to it a little. That way, when someone yells 'fag' at us, it hurts just a little bit less than it would otherwise."

"Scott, I'm so sorry," Ethan said, trying to wipe tears out of his eyes without attracting attention.

Suddenly, he threw his arms around me in a hug. I was surprised at first, before I wrapped my arms around him, embracing him. We'd never really shown too much physical affection towards each other. I mean, we cared about each other, but because of the four years between us, we never were very close.

"You're my big brother, and I don't want to say things that hurt you. Does this mean I have to like Steve, though? Because I don't."

"You know you'll always be my little dude, Eth. I still don't get why you don't like Steve, because I think you two have more in common than you think, but you don't have to like him. Just be nice to him – for me, if for no other reason. Can you do that?"

Ethan sniffed quietly, the noise muffled by the fact his face was pressed against my chest, before he pulled back.

"Yeah, I guess I can do that. Will you still spend time with me?"

I smiled and mussed his hair. "Of course, bro. Why wouldn't I?"

"Whenever you come home from school without Steve, you always spend time with me and we go to movies, and eat out, and have a lot of fun. Whenever you bring Steve with you, you don't do any of that with me."

"I'm sorry, Eth. I didn't realize I was doing that. Maybe the three of us can go see a movie this afternoon or something. I'm not about to ditch Steve with Mom and Dad after he came up to see me, but that doesn't mean I can't include you with us."

Ethan's eyes lit up with excitement of the idea. "Can Sammy come with us?"

Ethan had been dating Sammy for about two months, or so. All I knew about her was that she was a freshman while he was a sophomore.

"I don't see why not, but for all I know, she won't be able to get away from her family today."

"That won't be a problem, Scott. Her family's Jewish."

"Ok, great. It'll be like a double date. Now, let me get dressed, and then Steve and I will come upstairs for breakfast and presents."

"Thanks. You're the greatest, Scott! And I promise that I'll try to be nice to him."

"Thanks, bro. You're pretty great, too."

I gave him a quick hug, which he returned without hesitation before I went back into the bedroom.

After I closed the door, I went over and gave Steve a kiss. He quickly got more into it than I intended, and tried to pull me back into the bed.

"Sorry, baby, no time for love. We have to get dressed and go upstairs."

"Aww, but why? It's not like he's going to barge back in. Can't we finish what we started?" Steve asked, pouting dramatically.

"You mean what you started, and as much as I want to, it's time to make our grand entrance. Besides, I think I finally figured out why Eth doesn't like you."

"Oh, do tell. I've been wracking my brains trying to figure out how to win him over."

"I got the impression that he feels like you're taking me away from him. Basically, we just have to spend more time with him. Once he gets over the whole 'teenage-angst' thing, I'm sure he'll love you. Plus, we do have the trump card with your present. That will definitely score some major points with him!"

I rolled my boyfriend onto his side and gave him a playful smack on the ass.

"Now get up and let's get dressed!"

"Ooh, I love it when you get forceful!" he teased, getting out of bed. "I guess we'll just have to pick up where we left off tonight. Fuck, I'm horny. This is going to suck!"

"You're not the only one who has blue balls at the moment, sexy man. Just suck it up, and we'll have our fun tonight," I said, stripping and pulling on a pair of jeans and a sweater.

"Now I need to do my hair," I said.

"I thought you said it was time to go upstairs. That'll take you like an hour!"

"I'm not that bad. Give me ten minutes. Besides, Dad'll probably want to take a bunch of pictures, so I want to look presentable."

"You know you're sexy no matter what your hair looks like, right babe?"

"You say that, but you know you love my hair when it's all purty."

Steve blushed for a moment before saying, "Yeah, I do. It makes you look so fuckable."

I gave him another kiss before disappearing into the bathroom. Once I decided it was good enough, I grabbed my boyfriend's hand and we walked upstairs.

Let me pause here and take a moment to set the scene.

My mom is one of those bored housewives that probably spends all day sitting at home eating bonbons and watching Oprah or something. Well – that's not fair; I really have no clue what she does during the day when Ethan is in school and my dad is at work. All I know is that she takes holiday decorating extremely seriously. I don't mean that in the 'holiday season' sense, either. She has artwork and decorations galore for just about every major holiday. I never really thought about it until now, but it was nice growing up like that, because the house always looked a little different as the seasons and holidays changed. Anyway, as crazy as she gets for St. Patrick's Day and July 4th, Christmas is a winter-land extravaganza in our house.

Outside, the house and yard are covered with lights. It's not quite the Griswold's house in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, but it's close enough. There are even a few dozen strands of lights spread throughout the trees in the back yard so we could see them from inside the house. Luminary bags line the driveway and path to the front door. A giant wreath covers the front door, while smaller wreaths and candles adorn the windows that face the street. The windows that face away get neglected, only receiving a candle.

Walking in the house causes something of sensation overload. Garland and lights wrap around the banister up to the second floor, while the stairs are guarded by stuffed reindeer, penguins, polar bears, and Santas. Immediately on the left is the formal sitting room, which only gets used once a year for Christmas. It has a large bay window that faces the street, which is currently occupied by a nine-foot Douglas-fir. It is adorned with white lights and silver and gold ornaments. Many of them are intricate and expensive looking. It wasn't until I was nearly in high school before I was trusted enough to help decorate this tree. The side table hosts a large and elaborate woodblock nativity set. The dining room, accessible from the back of the sitting room, features an elaborate centerpiece consisting of colorful runners, garland, and large candles.

The ornate wall clock that normally is the focal point of the front entrance has been replaced for the season by a bust of Rudolph. When I was a kid, I used to love it. By cranking his red nose, he played a chime version of his namesake song. Continuing back to the kitchen, the Christmas motif follows. The plate rail around the kitchen is over flowing with garland and holly. The usual dinner plates and bowls have been replaced with colorful themed ones. Even the normal coffee mugs are all gone; only Christmas-themed ones fill the cupboard. To the left is another entrance to the dining room; and to the right is the family room – always a bustling hub of activity for our family.

The entertainment center had been covered with artificial snow – both the cotton batting and fake powder. A large, well-lit Christmas village resides in this snowy wonderland, crowded with figurines ice skating, caroling, and otherwise enjoying the freshly fallen snow. A Christmas tapestry replaces the usual resident on the wall, and the couches are covered with several themed throws and blankets. As usual this time of year, a fire is roaring in the gas fireplace – unnecessary, but always a welcome addition to the Yule ambiance.

And then there's the tree. Another nine-foot Douglas-fir sits nestled in the corner between the fireplace and the entertainment center. It twinkles from countless colored lights. Unlike the other tree – which my brother and I always referred to as the 'fancy tree' – the ornaments that adorn this tree are whimsical, tacky, and often homemade. These ornaments documented all the major milestones in our lives with ornaments from "Baby's First Christmas" to my university's mascot. Every year, Ethan and I each received a new ornament as a gift to add to the tree. As a result, nearly every branch was overloaded with ornaments. I remember when I was a little boy, we would thread popcorn until I felt like my fingers would fall off, but Mom's taken to wrapping strands of colorful beads around the tree instead. In years past, a model train would circle the room, but one misstep from me while carrying a glass of grape juice quickly ended that tradition.

I'm sure I left some of the décor out, but suffice to say, the entire house is well decorated. Anyway, back to us making our appearance upstairs.

Ethan must have heard the door open from the basement. He immediately yelled 'About time!' from the family room. I glanced into the room, and he looked like, well, a kid on Christmas. My dad was sipping coffee and sitting on the couch while reading the newspaper.

Mom was putting the finishing touches on the spread of food that consisted of our usual Christmas breakfast. There was cranberry juice and coffee, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, cocktail weenies, crackers, and assorted cheeses and sausages.

I walked over to my mom and gave her a hug and said, "Merry Christmas."

"Good morning, boys," Mom said returning my hug, before giving one to Steve as well.

"I hope you slept well, and Ethan didn't wake you two up."

"Moooom," Ethan whined from the other room.

"No, he came down just after we'd woken up," I told her. I blushed a little thinking about what he had interrupted us doing, but I wasn't about to mention that to her.

"Now, I'm almost done in here, so why don't you grab some coffee or juice, and go ahead have a seat," Mom said, before returning to making sure that everything was perfect.

We grabbed our coffees, and joined my father and Ethan in the family room. As we entered, my father looked up for the first time.

"Good morning, Scott; good morning, Steve. Sorry, I was caught up in the article I was reading to greet you earlier," He said, putting the paper aside, and standing up to give us both hugs.

"Did you get enough sleep with Sir Snores-a-lot?" Dad asked Steve with a twinkle in his eye. All my life, my family has teased me about my snoring, especially when we went on vacation and all stayed in the same hotel room. I never bothered to bring up the fact that my father's snoring usually kept ME awake most of the night.

"Yeah, it was fine. And he doesn't snore THAT bad, Mr. Hudgins," Steve replied with a chuckle.

"I've told you before, it's Michael," my father chided lightly.

"Now you're both up, I'm digging into my stocking," Ethan said anxiously, ending further discussion between us. Without further ado, he unceremoniously dumped the contents of his stocking all over the floor. Truffles, chocolates, mints, gum, and other assorted candies bounced in a three foot radius of the fifteen-year-old.

I chuckled, and without much hesitation, followed suit after sitting down on the floor. I had tried to temper my enthusiasm, but it WAS Christmas morning, after all. I glanced over to Steve, who was now sitting next to me, and noticed a sadness in his eyes that he was trying to hide.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, trying to be quiet to avoid the others from noticing.

"I just realized that I didn't bring a stocking. Not that I really expected to have anything in it. I want to be with you for Christmas, and I knew that I may not get anything, but now that it's actually happening, I feel a little left out. Don't worry, though; I'll be fine," he said, slightly hanging his head as if he was embarrassed about his feelings.

"I hadn't thought about it. Here, we can split my stocking," I said.

Before I had even begun to divvy it up, Dad, who had returned to his newspaper, said, "Oh, I almost forgot, Steve. Since we don't have a stocking for you, I had to take a few creative liberties."

Dad reached down beside the couch, and pulled out a bundle of wrapping paper that had been bundled to look like a stocking. Written in glitter across the top was 'Steve'. Steve's eyes lit up with excitement as he took it from him.

"Thanks, Michael," he said, before calling into the kitchen, "Thanks, Mrs. H!"

"You're welcome Mr. O," she responded, jokingly.

"'Mr. O'?" Steve called back to her.

"If you don't like that, then start calling me Felicia, or even Fey, 'Mrs. H' is my mother."

Even Dad couldn't resist. "No it's not, dear, that's MY mother!"

The laughter from the four of us reverberated through the room, while Ethan was still engrossed at the contents from his stocking. Finally Steve ripped open his 'stocking'. It was a good thing he was sitting, because the contents exploded everywhere. Obviously, he had been given more goodies than my brother or I. It looked like his haul was about equal to what we had gotten together. In addition, there were several restaurant gift cards. He held them up and looked at Dad, questioningly.

"Those are so that you can take your boyfriend out for a couple of nice dinners. I've found he's cranky when he's hungry."

"Yeah, he can be," Steve replied with a laugh, ignoring the evil look I was shooting his way. Steve and my parents have always gotten along well the few times they've met, but I never expected them to be commiserating about me!

"Alright, the food is ready. You guys know the drill. Scott, did you explain it to Steve?"

"Yes, Mrs. Hu…er, Fey, he did," Scott answered for me.

Christmas morning has always been a drawn-out affair in our house. The morning always starts with the stockings. Once we've opened those, we began the arduous task of opening presents. From that point on, breakfast is served. It's all just left out on the table, and we help ourselves to it as we feel the need. The end result is that we snack on breakfast for several hours, putting a few bites at a time on the plate before returning to the action.

Presents are always opened one at a time in my family. One person gets a gift from under the tree, and gives it to the recipient, who opens it. Then it's that person's turn to give out a present. The only rule is that you couldn't choose a gift for yourself.

My dad told me once that when he was a kid, the presents were arranged under the tree, sorted by the recipient. The result was thirty minutes of chaos as everyone raced to unwrap all their gifts before surveying the damage. I remember when I was a kid, I used to wish we would do that, but as I got older, I began to really appreciate our tradition better. This way, you had time to appreciate what the other person got, and there was a certain thrill to watching someone's reaction to their present. It did suck, though, when you got a bad present and your reaction was noticed by everyone. It's a nice, relaxing morning spent surrounded by loved ones that I wouldn't change for the world.

My dad started the gifting out by handing a package to Steve. He smiled sheepishly, and his eyes got wide.

"Michael, you guys didn't have to get me anything. It's not like I'm a member of the family or anything."

"Nonsense, you're important to Scott, and as far as I'm concerned you're a part of the family as long as you two are together. Now you better hurry up and open it, because I'm sure Ethan is getting impatient."

Steve unwrapped the gift, revealing an expensive-looking scarf.

"You shouldn't have. It's beautiful, and must have been expensive," he said, tears beginning to form in his eyes.

"None of that!" Mom scolded, playfully. "I made it myself. Besides, like Michael said, you're family."

Over the next few hours, we opened the presents. I had gotten several DVDs that I had wanted, along with a few CDs. Steve had gotten a couple more gifts from my parents, and I could tell that he absolutely loved the leather cuff bracelet I had gotten him. Especially when he leaned over and kissed me. I felt a little uncomfortable, but my parents were all smiles.

As a gag-gift, I'd also gotten him a very large stuffed panda. For some reason, after our first fight, he'd gotten me a tiny stuffed panda as an "I'm sorry I'm an ass" present. He kinda chuckled when he opened it, but quickly put it aside. I could tell from the look in his eyes that he understood the significance, but he never made a big deal of it.

Probably the biggest reaction of the morning came from Ethan when he opened Steve's gift to him. It was Knights of the Old Republic, a role-playing videogame set in the Star Wars universe. Dad had told me how much Ethan had wanted the game, and I knew that Steve was at least as big of a Star Wars geek as Ethan. Forgetting that he didn't like Steve, Ethan quickly gave him a huge hug, excitedly thanking him repeatedly.

The last gift I opened contained an iPod. I had wanted one when I first read about them a couple years prior, but I had a computer running Windows, and they weren't compatible. A few months earlier, Apple had launched a version of iTunes that worked on PC, and I'd been begging my parents for one ever since.

Once we had finished Ethan and Steve started looking over the videogame box, and it didn't take long before they had booted up the Xbox and the two were discussing the various pros and cons of the three available classes in the game. As Ethan started playing the game, he quickly announced that Steve should make a character as well.

"That way, one of us can play as a light side, and one of us can play as dark side. We can see all the differences in the game!" He explained.

"Hmm, since you're only going to be here a few days, you should play yours as much as possible so I can see," Ethan added, as he quit the game and returned to the title screen.

As Steve began creating a character, they began talking about the two newest movies in the series, then began to argue over what the title of the last (or third, depending on how you looked at it) movie would be. Steve was positive it would have 'revenge' in the title, but Ethan didn't think it would. Don't get me wrong, I had really enjoyed all five movies, but I was way out of my league for their conversation. Instead, I just played with my new iPod. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to put any music on it until I went back to school, but I was still able to explore the settings and all that.

They took turns playing for a while, lost in Star Wars talk that was beyond me. Honestly, I was beginning to feel a little neglected with all the attention Steve was paying to Ethan. Maybe that's what Ethan felt like when I was with Steve. I knew I was being irrational and was enjoying watching Ethan completely forget that he thought Steve was lame. After a few hours, I looked up movie times on Dad's computer.

"Hey, do we still want to go see a movie? Our options seem to be a few romance comedies, a few dramas, or Lord of the Rings: Return of the King."

"Oooh, Lord of the Rings!" Steve declared excitedly. We were planning on going to see it opening night, but Steve was guilt-tripped by his parents into going home as soon as his last final had finished since he was spending Christmas with me.

Ethan also quickly agreed to it. I wasn't surprised, since we had gone together to see the first two movies.

"Crap, I can't go," Steve added, after I thought our plans were finalized.

"Why not?" Ethan almost whined as he asked the question.

"Because I promised Tom the other day that I'd go with him when I got back home."

"Tom's Steve's brother," I explained to Ethan before adding to Steve, "Just do what I did with Matrix Revolutions this summer. I promised you I'd see it with you, but then Dustin and I were bored and you weren't back yet, so I went ahead and saw it without you. When you came in town, we went and I saw it again. I didn't even tell you until like a month later."

"Oh yeah!" Steve exclaimed with a twinkle in his eyes. "I was so mad at you that I didn't talk to you for like two days. That would definitely work, as long as the movie is nearly as good as the last two. I'm not sure how you managed to sit through that piece of crap twice, though."

"It wasn't the worst movie in the world, and I got to spend time with you."

"That answer's bull and you know it," Steve said, wrapping his arms around me and kissing me gently.

"Barf! Get a room you two!" Ethan said with a giggle, picking up a pillow from the couch to hit me with.

"Whatever, as if you and Sammy aren't like this when no one's looking," I retorted.

Ethan didn't answer, but his blush was all the confirmation I needed.

"Speaking of Sammy, do you want to give her a call?" I asked Ethan

"Nah. We can hang out anytime. I don't get to spend nearly enough time with you, bro. And Steve's only here for another day, so we should make the most of it!"

"Hey, I have an idea. You two wait here; let me go talk to Mom," I said.

I tracked down Mom and Dad in the living room, each reading books they'd gotten earlier in the day.

"Hey sweetie," Mom said, looking up from her book. "What's up?"

"Nothing much. Steve, Ethan, and I are about to go out to a movie, but I had an idea. What are the plans for dinner?" I asked.

"Honestly, I hadn't given it much thought. We were munching on food until two or so. If you guys are somehow still hungry, I can fix some sandwiches for you. Otherwise, I was just going to reheat some leftovers later."

"Much later, I hope," Dad added with a laugh, rubbing his stomach.

Christmas dinner was never a big deal in our house. We always had the big, fancy dinner on Christmas Eve. Add to that the fact that Christmas breakfast lasts for several hours and involves everything ranging from eggs to Christmas cookies, no one's usually in the mood for another heavy meal.

"Would it be ok if we just ate while we were out? It'd be nice to spend some time with Ethan," I said.

"I don't know, dear," Mom started, but drifted off in thought.

Even though dinner wasn't usually anything fancy, it was family time, and I would have totally understood if she shot my idea down.

"Do you have any idea if anything is even open?" She asked, finally.

"Well, if Christmas Story is any indication, I'm sure several of the Chinese places will be open. I know Ethan's not the biggest fan, but I also know that the Denny's at college advertises as being 'always open', so we can also check that out."

"I guess it's ok with me," Mom said. "Maybe your father and I can have a romantic dinner or something. Just call us if you decide to stay out."

"Mom, you're the best," I said and quickly hugged her, kissing her cheek.

I gave Dad a hug as well, before returning to my brother and boyfriend.

"Alright, everything is settled. Now, let's go!"

"What was that about?" Ethan asked.

"Don't worry about it. I have plans," I responded cryptically.

"You and you're surprises," Steve said, rolling his eyes at me.

We walked outside and just before we got to the car, Ethan called out, "Shotgun!"

"Nope. Sorry, Eth, Steve gets permanent shotgun," I replied

For being fifteen, Ethan was still more than capable of the childish pout.

"Fine," he said a little dejectedly, but recovered as soon as we were in driving, all three of us badly singing along to Christmas carols on the radio.

We went to the multiplex, got the requisite popcorn and sodas and headed into the theater just as the trailers began. I could go on and describe the movie in detail, but just like the first two, it was extremely long. We all enjoyed it a lot and thought it possibly the best in the trilogy. I was glad that the scourging of the Shire was removed – I understood the thematic aspect that the effects of war continued to be felt on the home front after the battles were over, but I always felt it made the story seem more anti-climactic.

As we walked out of the theater, Steve asked, "Do you think they'll ever make The Hobbit into a movie?"

The general consensus from Ethan and I was that it would happen eventually.

I turned to Ethan and asked, "Are you up for getting dinner?"

"What about Mom?"

"I asked before we left, and she's fine with it. I just have to call her and tell her."

His eyes lit up. "Yeah, that'd be fun!"

I called home and told Mom the plans, and then we headed over to Denny's. Sure enough, it was open.

The three of us had a blast. In fact, we made asses of ourselves, goofing around, tossing fries at each other, and just acting like crazy teenagers. The waitress wasn't impressed, but I made sure to leave her a good tip – both for having to put up with us, and for having to work on Christmas.

When we got home around ten, the house was quiet. I guessed that my parents had decided to turn in early. Ethan was excited to play more Knights of the Old Republic with Steve, but Steve let out a big yawn, which I was positive was fake.

"I don't know, Ethan," he said. "We've had an active day, and I'm pretty tired. Maybe I'll just go ahead and turn in. You tired, Scott?"

I wasn't, but was aching for some alone time with my boyfriend. I quickly faked a yawn and said that I was.

Ethan looked a little disappointed, but Steve told him to go ahead and play his game, and he could tell Steve all about it in the morning. That seemed to perk Ethan up a little, and he ran into the living room to keep playing. Steve grabbed my hand and practically dragged me down the stairs.

Once we were in the bedroom, the door securely closed and locked, he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me up against him. He began to sway back and forth to music inside his head. I went with the flow, and wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning down slightly to kiss his lips.

"I love you so much, Scott," he said as he began to hum Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

I interrupted his music by kissing him more passionately than before.

He broke the kiss after allowing our tongues to touch briefly. Then, he began to sing the words gently as he slowly pulled my shirt up, our bodies intertwined as we continued our dance.

By the time he had finished singing, we were both naked, our hard cocks pressed tightly together as we sensuously moved our bodies to his voice. My heart felt like it was about to explode with love, and tears were streaming down my face.

I kissed him with fervor, my body consumed with an intoxicating blend of love, lust, and desire. I could feel how much Steve, my boyfriend and best friend, truly loved me and needed me in his life.

Without breaking the kiss, I walked us backward, picked him up, and gently laid him on the bed, pressing my body against his. His hands roamed my back as I gently played with his nipples, our lips and tongues as intertwined as our limbs.

I have no idea how long we made out like this, but eventually I needed more. I broke the kiss, and began to nibble on Steve's neck before slowly kissing and nipping my way down his body. I flicked his nipple with my tongue repeatedly, before engulfing it with my mouth. I continued to grind my body against his cock as I switched my attention to his other nipple.

When my slow journey down his body finally rewarded me with my prize, I slowly licked up the underside of his cock, frantically toying with the head. I slowly wrapped my lips around him, and in one swift movement, buried him deep in my throat. I held him there, humming, as long as I could before my body began to cry out for oxygen. Steve was thrashing on the bed uncontrollably, moaning into a pillow.

I bobbed up and down on his cock a few times, enjoying the taste of his precum that was gushing from the tip, before directing my ministrations to his balls.

I had just begun licking his sack, when Steve groaned, "Oh, god, Scott! Turn around!"

Without breaking contact, I maneuvered my body over his, my balls directly over his mouth, and my hole in easy reach. I knew that with his gag reflex, he'd never handle my cock from this position, as it leaked onto his neck and chest.

Steve immediately took my whole sack into his mouth, sucking and pulling gently while his hands slid up and down my crack, teasing my hole. I moaned deeply as I went back to work on his nuts.

Before long, we were both rimming each other, moaning at the immense waves of pleasure we were both receiving. It took all my strength to keep from reaching down and stroking my cock, knowing that I was only a few strokes from the most intense orgasm I had ever experienced.

Suddenly, Steve pulled away from my hole.

"Scott, I need you to fuck me. Now!" His voice was drenched in desire.

"Are you sure?" I asked. As excited as I was at the thought, Steve was almost exclusively a top. In the time we'd been together, I could probably count on one-hand the times he'd agreed to bottom. Since I was versatile, it didn't never bothered me too much, but I was always eager when Steve offered his ass to me.

"Very. Fuck me, Scott!" he begged.

I positioned myself between his legs, lifting them for better access. As I slowly slid my cock in, I could see the pain mixed with pleasure in his face. Not wanting to hurt him, I slowly began to pull out. Steve had a very different idea and grabbed my ass with his hands, holding me in place.

"Keep going, Scott. I want this."

I groaned as I pushed deeper into him, my balls finally resting on his ass. I leaned down and kissed my boyfriend passionately as I slowly began to pull back.

"Oh, shit, Steve!" I moaned. "You're ass is so tight. I'm not going to last long."

"I don't care. Just whatever you do, don't pull out until you've cum inside me," he uttered.

I reached down and stroked his cock, which – much to my surprise – was still hard. He'd never been able to maintain a hard-on in the past when I fucked him.

I managed to last about five minutes, thrusting my cock deep into his ass, before I felt my balls tightening.

"I'm cumming," I almost yelled as I began to unload deep into Steve's ass.

As I began to come down from my high, I began to cover his face with kisses, my cock still buried in his ass.

"I love you so much, Steve. Now my turn," I said with a laugh, pulling out of Steve and rolling onto my back.

Steve jumped between my legs, and before I knew it, his cock was making its way into my ass.

I moaned, grabbing Steve's neck and pulling him back into a kiss as he continued to thrust deep inside me. Despite having just cum, my cock was throbbing every time his rod pressed against my prostate.

After about ten minutes, Steve's breath grew ragged and his thrusts in and out of my ass grew more erratic. Suddenly, his cock spasmed deep inside my ass, and I could feel his cum flooding inside me. That set my own cock off, and I began to shoot a second load between our tightly pressed bodies.

We kissed passionately for a few minutes, holding each other tightly, before Steve pulled out of my ass. The all-too-familiar feeling of emptiness washed over me as he rested his head on my chest. For a brief while, we exchanged whispered sentiments of love before Steve drifted off to sleep.

As my eyes grew heavy, my last realization before I joined him in slumber was that I had found, in Steve, the person I was destined to spend the rest of my life with.

I was challenged by an author friend to write a Christmas-themed short based on 'Moving On' that didn't affect the continuity of the main story in anyway. I thought about showing Scott, Noah, and Zach at Christmas time, but as of Chapter 20, the story is still set in August. I thought about writing about Scott's first Christmas after Steve, but that's already discribed in Chapter 5, so I decided to go this route. I hope you enjoyed.

It was nice to see an early version to Scott and Steve. Young love, full of excitement, and anticipation is to be cherished by all who have been blessed to ever experience this special gift. I remember the sights and smells of my parents home and enjoying them anew with my own new true love...many years ago. It's funny , but the tradtions started as a child have found their way into our home, mixed and adapted with my love's own traditions to share with our family. Your story just made me think of things that I hadn't thought of in years...mostly happy childhood memories....Thank you ...this is a nice Christmas gift......All the best to you and your family

I know what you mean with traditions. My in-laws have started opening presents similarly to my family's methods, although they were REALLY confused when I was just watching them open presents the first few times. They were actually concerned that I thought I hadn't gotten enough gifts or something! Now, they enjoy that it's just extra family time.

Traditions change and grow over time as the needs of the family changes. Our dinner Christmas Eve is ALWAYS beef fondue, and has been before my brother and I were old enough to be trusted with the boiling oil. Last Christmas was the first time that my new sister-in-law was present, and she's a vegetarian. It was never brought up, but we had a very nice cheese fondue instead.

I'm glad you enjoyed the gift. This was supposed to be the last time I visited Scott and Steve's relationship, but the last time I claimed that was Tuesday, and I'm already beginning to have serious doubts that this will be the last time that Steve has a leading role in one of my stories.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well :)

After reading up to chapter25 in Moving On it was actually nice to read this Christmas Story of early times with Scott and Steve. Even though it is taken from a time even before they were married it really gives you incite as to how close the two men were and why it took over a year for Scott to come to terms with Steves death. Though knowing what happens just over a decade later does make the last line or so very heartbreaking to read. But thank you for giving us a glimpse of the love and closeness they shared.

When I was first brainstorming this short, I came up with the last line very earlier on. I liked the idea that people who hadn't read Moving On would think it to be a very sweet and happy ending, while people who had read the main story would feel like they'd been stabbed in the heart with the not-so-gentle reminder of how things don't always work out as we plan.

Excellent! Start with sex and end with MORE sex. And a little Christmas in between. It was a little sad in that Steve's parents were still alive at this time. Had he known then what he knows today, I doubt he would be there. Boyfriend or not.

Well done.

R

He probably would have. Scott and Steve had been together long enough by that point (just about a year if recollection serves me correctly) that they were serious enough to want to spend a major holiday, like Christmas, with each other.

This was kinda my test vehicle to see how well I could write a sex scene, since I really hadn't gotten to the major scenes in Moving On yet, and I was very happy with how it turned out.

It also seems like you read this in the 'right' order. A lot of people read the short story first, which is cute and light-hearted, and then switched over to the main story expecting more of the same. Of course the last line takes on a very different meaning if you know what happens to Steve!
