Doomsday - 1. Chapter 1

“It has come,” he said quietly, as loud noises shook everything.

I looked at him, just like I did every night. Yet, as always, it seemed like the first time. Until tonight I had never noticed the small wrinkles that had formed on his handsome face. Or, perhaps, I had seen them before but had subconsciously ignored them. Who wouldn’t under those spellbinding green eyes? They weren’t truly green, but some sort of ethereal grayish-green – with an unworldly spark. If I had to write my life story, it would have to be in this color.

As he scooted closer to me, explosions could be heard from outside. Fire danced around the room, peeping in through the closed windows. He moved even closer to me so that each inch of our skins touched. The heat inside our bodies rivaled that from outside. The orange flames gave his olive-skinned body a strange glow.

His lips touched mine. A loud blast resounded. We clung to each other as our bodies smoldered. Yet all we felt was the fire of love and passion we shared.

For others, it might be the Doomsday. But, for us, it was just another day of our eternal love.
