2010 - Fall - No Going Back Entry

Allure - 1. Poem

ALLURE

Reach across

A sojourn to nowhere

Alone

A dream of love bare

A lure tempest

Allure possessing

A view of your path

From far

Life is dreams...

But dreams going nowhere

Slowly

There is no going back

To someplace that's never been

But in dream

No love to give an empty void

No losing what was never had

empty

No finding anything there

This road passes

On air I walked

Once

Now I carry you

Heavy in mind

Beloved burden

This is not new

A slow tear to see you thru

It is a circle of beauty

Dread

I am glad

Glad

You don't love me

Never going there again

I am sad

Sad

You only care for me

Here and ever the end

I am mad

Mad

You claim no part

Mere fever flames

I am bad

Bad

You assail not

You assess not

You assert not

You assent not

You assign not

You assure not

These things

Denied

Sever the heart

I am a tad

A tad

Struck down

And

Peer thru broken

Shattered splashes

At shadows

Are you good at pretending things?

Stuck in random verse, again

So forgive

Myself?

Sometimes it is contrary nature

The one pretense not to have

Thought becomes a verse of delusion

Funny how this was not thought out before

Memory of things unforgotten

The long ago and nevermind

Explain nothing

But unattended suffering

So walk and walk and walk

Leaving it behind

No going back

To that place never found

To that love never bound

I did reach out and touch you

Did I not

No going back but in this dream

The meaning of the poem I'm not sure of.

The effect I am.

It evoked a powerful feelings of sadness and longing.

I felt like he was feeling the loss of someone that was never his. Very deep and sad, but beautiful.

Reading some poetry today. U R soright. There's lots of great poetry here.:)

I don't get many comments, so I often don't look back and I often don't reply if I do. The poem is hopelessly flawed and irrational and emotional, trying to explain a song that can't be sung. But thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading JoAnn. You mention beauty. I don't have the talent to create beauty. I mostly grief after it.
