Nightmind - 1. Nightmind

Nightmind

by bugeye

A life
Fragmented and forgotten
Awakens
To folly

It is freezing here
Winter
Close is not close
And distant is a memory of entanglement
But touch is intimate mind to mind

Phantom words running away from what must be unsaid
This sight...
You
Bring sighs, arabesques of courtesy and grace
Thru a night of dark larks
While beams from smiles
Cause bright insensitivity and parades captivity as parable
Figment bouquet
A mind rewinds, reels with pent-up, pensive imaginings

So practical, years and years of practical to look forward too
Backward glances
This conception unclearly near perception
Remember to breathe of light
And dreams seemingly appear to peer

Merciful is it?
Across intuition, cognition barren of fear
Bitter sensation
No finding a glistening beginning
Useless
No binding a listening ear
Lost
For seeing, magnified, thru an unaccounted tear
Fight
For a corner of happiness that disappears
Stand
Only in that moment will shame keep tame
Hands
From reaching
Merely aimless movement pertains, claws dig this deep
Excavating toward nothing

Pertinaciously turn the other way
Happy that way
So this way
What do I care?

More real than real
A mirror with no reflections
This obvious disassociation
Choices
Rejoice that freedom
And disconnect from this mockery
Unshared
Or

Think no more
About all there is
A man distant from the start
Who am I
After all and the honest truth is
There is no truth divided
I am half truth
And you are not in my equation
At all anymore

One slow step
One turn
One look
And Gone
But the knowing remains
Close, so close
