James_Freestone Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I do hope I've properly expressed that I'm not trying to impose my way of thinking on anyone else. I do feel like this is a suitable time to mention my feelings, thoughts, and values on this issue since we're discussing them, but I certainly do try to avoid imposing my beliefs on other people in everyday life, especially when they're going through a painful time. I should have made myself clear. I wasn't saying you. I was saying in general. I meant out in life. Not here on this website. Sorry for not making that clear.
hh5 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I worked at this one company for 12 years I think. There's only two of us taking care of the company flagship app. After a couple of years - we're pretty much equal on ... But what got boring is how much the co-worker is so selfish and predictable. We all can predict his typical actions. So hearing sorry from him - has always been fake.
KJames Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I don't forgive. I may forget but I don't forgive. On the other hand, I don't dwell on it either. I simply move on. I have a relative who single-handedly gave me three of my worst phobias. (This same person posts on an Internet forum about how they will 'rid the world' of my 'useless flesh' the next time they lay eyes on me. In detail.) My more immediate family cast me out when they discovered my 'orientation'. From time to time I cross paths with the people that physically abused me during my school years (all 12 of them). Occasionally I get emails telling me I should do the world a favor and remove myself from it. I may back away for a while but eventually I move on. The only lasting effect is selective deafness whenever someone tells me "I'm sorry." Dion, Hi... Forget but not forgive...what you have been through, just from the description above, would be unforgivable. This relative of yours who posts on an internet forum could be arrested by the FBI: Using interstate wires to transmit information in a conspiracy to commit murder is a real Federal Felony charge, whether the planning is acted upon or not. All the FBI has to do is verify that he is the poster...and they're very good at obtaining information... The people from your school years, just tell 'em "Karma's a bitch" and that you plan on outliving them.
