    Amazing Grace

It was a long chapter so I split it into two. Hope you like it!
  2. The truck was already moving by the time I woke up. It wasn’t my brother’s arms that held me when I opened my eyes. It was Mark’s. He was stroking my hair when my head was lying on his lap. He was smiling at me, looking down at my face with his stubbly jaws and deep green eyes. “Where is Tris?” I sat up and searched for my brother. “I’m here, Dan.” My brother is in front, close to the driver seat’s back windows. He was talking to Grey, and pointing at the directions on the road. Grey and Tri

    Empty shells

Thanks Gary, the survivors are now in flux, each of them coming to terms with their own morality and dealing with a new social order. What ensues will be the story itself..

Haha, thanks Bob! I will go a little more depth about the survivors backgrounds in the next few chapters.

Yes I wonder what she will get herself into as well. It will be a riot to write her character!
  7. Once it gets darker, Grey ordered us to put out the fire and retreat into the truck. Tristan argued about the cold but Grey said the fire could be seen from miles away at night. We have no idea how things are like out here, we were stuck in the city and cut off from all communications with the world outside for months. It was frigging miserable to sleep in total darkness, freezing cold and in the middle of nowhere. All you can hear are the crickets, the sound of our breathing and the clattering
  8. “NO! We can’t run.” Tristan grabs me by my shoulders. “The Colonel will hunt us down like animals.” He paces back and forth, and arguing with Mark about whether we should go with Grey’s plans. “How far can he chase us without food supply? Think about it.” Mark argued. “He would die trying, if what Major Craig says about the virus evolving is true.” Tristan said. “I don’t know why, but I too feel the virus is turning into something else. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but the infected se
  9. Haha.. get ready the popcorns!
  10. Deep shit pretty much sums up the whole situation! Haha
  11. Tristan and Mark has pretty different moral compass and it will polarize even more as time goes by. Interesting question.
  12. Gary Oldman!
  13. “Y-you… You can speak?” I took a step backwards, staring at the infected woman in shock. She nods weakly and smiles. “I’m not Frankenstein, you know, even though I look like one.” “Elena is resistant to the virus. She didn’t attack the soldiers on sight when they discovered her. The virus upsets the brain’s chemistry. It’s like amphetamines but a hundred times stronger. But somehow her immune system keeps the virus in check.” Grey explains. “Then there is hope… for a cure?” My heart leapt an
  14. Dan's feelings for Mark hasn't changed. And Mark's feelings for Dan is strong, but I would say... 'greying' (no pun intended!). Like I told Bob, the possibilities are out there. Both Mark and Dan needs to grow up a little more to understand how they feel. As for Grey, he is still married (yikes!) and equally unavailable to Dan even if any of them feels any chemistry going.
  15. Hahaha, yes the plot is thickening in many ways!
  16. I like the way you call it, the awkward non-relationship sounds just about right. Grey is a potential love-interest and possibly rival (?) to Mark. Perhaps some competition may force him to confront his feelings, if any exist at all? Or maybe Dan needs to grow up and accept that some people simply can't return his affections the way he wanted it. For now, everyone is focusing on survival, relationship dynamics will brew slowly (but certainly) under the surface. Stay tuned for the signposts until it unfolds!
  17. Wow. I love your casting. You are right about Jada Pinkett Smith, I can't imagine Grace being anyone else. And your casting for Grey is perfect! I love both choices, it's going to be hard to root for Mark with either of them in the role
  18. Smoke and dust shrouded our vision. For a short while, the moans came to a chilling halt. I shield my eyes, squinting for any signs of Grey. Please come soon. I prayed. Otherwise, the infected from a mile away will be here in no time. “Ten seconds. If he doesn’t show up, we leave.” She steeled herself, but her eyes searched for him everywhere through the dust and smoke. One. A few dark shadows appear from the street corners. Tristan and Grace raised their weapons. Two. The haunting chorus o

I'm glad you like this story too! It's not everyone's cup of tea:)

    Warring hearts

Awesome choices! I will go for a young Colin Ford and Casey Moss:) Though Casey looks like a good Tristan too
  21. The story will take a while to pan out because the chapters are short. But I assure you all will be revealed in good time!

    Suicide squad

I'm glad you liked it:) But the anticipation isn't going to let up!

    Suicide squad

Hahaha... who will be Daniel and Mark?
  24. All eyes fall on Grey. Five of us stood in the tiny briefing room. Dust and silence fills the air. The crumpled city map on the wall is overlaid by numerous blue tacks. Each blue tack represents the current congregation points of the infected, based on the scout patrol’s reports. Grace looks slightly amused. Tristan is pale. Mark and I stare at him in disbelief. He plans to crash our vehicle straight into the horde. There are so many blue tacks on that spot that the map is completely buried be

    Suicide squad

The answer to the amputation thing is clear to Dan and Tristan, but not to Mark. Next chapter will answer many of the questions you raised, which will build up to the climax of this part of the story. You are right that the system is unfair and Dan's shifting moral compass will cause conflicts within the group as time goes pass. Whether he remains true to his beliefs or he will do anything to survive, Dan will learn and grow along the way (and perhaps painfully as well). As for the Colonel and his plans, things will unfold in the next few chapters..
