I looked over at the guy resting on me. All it took was one night…one night full of so much emotion, so much pain…one night to get us on the same page, one night to start healing us both. We’ve both had so much taken from us, but we’re still here, we can still make a difference. “Hey Carter” I gently poked looking out at the water. He looked up and softly smiled “What’s up?” “When we play...if I start to get mad you gotta be on top of me.” I exhaled confiding in him once more “It’

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Aceinthehole commented on Aceinthehole's story chapter in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Overall I'm glad you guys are really liking this story so far! I came up with the idea back when I was writing Velocity, but felt I wasn't yet a good enough writer to execute it. Even a few months ago I was worried I couldn't do it justice, but really wanted to give it a go anyway! I've put in a lot of work to understand Chicago gang life, and the overall set up of the city (I'm sure a native can pick out some inaccuracies in my writing), and I am so happy to see it paying off. This has without a doubt been the most exciting start to a story I've had so far, and I have to thank a lot of you long term readers for that! -
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Aceinthehole commented on Aceinthehole's story chapter in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Thank you, I hope you enjoy them! My only warning is that velocity is very dark. As some of the people can attest to here, it's basically like a kick to the face at the end. Either way if you give it a try I'm sure you'll like it! If not I understand! -
Interesting, what about him?

Looks like you're both about to get your answers.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Aceinthehole posted new chapter in Tales of the Underground: Blinded
I grew up dreaming of the type of girl I would chase…I know, surprising isn’t it? But we all have dreams, we all want someone to fall back on. Yet even in those dreams, even when I tried to construct the perfect girl…none of them were ever what Carter is, and that’s not because he doesn’t have boobs! He just has so much fight…so much soul. I could go on forever about him but be speechless at the same time, I’ve never known anything like this…never seen anything like this. “What’s that Cy?”- 11 comments

I gritted my teeth and pretended to listen to Nancy as she drove the short ride from school to home. I couldn’t even tell you what she was talking about, all I could think about was how scared Curtis was, but how fearless Cam was. Is this how it’s gonna be? Does he have no problem just throwing my business out there? I guess he was trying to help, but I’m not in the Southside anymore…I’m not looking to be in the Southside anymore. “Everything okay dear?” Nancy asked reaching over to snap me

Sometimes I think you guys know me too well . I'm happy you guys are so invested in this!

Unfortunately it seems like no matter where he goes his past haunts him. The notoriety he so desperately craved as a saint, is now biting him in the ass. Who knows, maybe it'll take him doing something equally as big to cover up who he once was.

The only people who’ve ever wanted me in my life have been the police, rival gangs, or the saints but now…now things are different. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the police and other gangs would still love to see my head on a stick…and the saints, as bad as they probably want me back, well there’s no honor amongst thieves. But these people, this family…they don’t want to hurt me, and they don’t make me feel like I owe them anything…instead they just keep giving to me…they keep taking care of me.

I looked over at the teen next to me and raised my eyebrows. There’s something about Carter…my whole life I’ve been able to deceive people, it didn’t matter who it was, from food cart venders to my shot caller…I was always able to trick people into believing what I wanted them to; but Carter, well he’s not like that. He sees right through me no matter what I do or say. He can tell when I’m hiding things, or when I’m just off, but most importantly he knows how to fix things…how to make me feel be

“Don’t fuck this up!” A booming voice echoed in my head as I quickly scaled the fire escape. “Don’t fuck this up!” the voice repeated as my breath grew heavier and heavier “Don’t fuck this up!” the voice demanded shaking me to my core. I heard the metal ladders and platforms rattle beneath me as I finally reached the small rooftop. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I just had to listen in! I didn’t even have to take anything! How did I manage to fuck this up so badly? “Get back here you Saints brat!” A pursuing

What has my life become? Riding around in a Maserati with a guy I’m seeing…walking into a mansion after varsity basketball practice for a private school. I’d say it’s a dream come true…but is this even a dream I would want? Is this the life I want? “Cy wash up! Dinner is ready!” Nancy called our hearing the door shut behind me. I quietly followed orders and met my foster family at the now familiar dinner table. “So how was practice?” she questioned seeing me for the first time since the dia

I looked over at the slim young man next to me, his smile still wide from the revelation of this afternoon’s events. A light breeze passed through his thick brown hair as those hazel eyes of his radiated with joy. I fought off a half smile and diverted my eyes to the ground as he looked over. “It wouldn’t hurt for you to smile every now and again.” He playfully teased. I picked my head back up and shot him a gaze “Shhh” “Did you just shh me?” he laughed trying to act offended. I

No matter what I did that night I just couldn’t get comfortable. During dinner I kept my mouth shut and didn’t bother to say anything about anything. Nancy did her best to get me to talk but this time I wasn’t playing along…this time I ignored her until she finally shut up. They could tell by my mood that I had been cut and that’s all they needed to know. “Hey want to play xbox after you finish your homework?” Aaron offered trying to comfort me “I can even help you if you need.” “I’m

As I heard Mr. James gently tap his fingers against the steering wheel, I felt my heart begin to beat faster. He’s holding something back…thinking of how to say it. “So Cy” He began finally finding the words “I believe we need to discuss how you speak with Owen Avery.” I let out a small laugh in relief and rolled my eyes “His father called me this evening and said you two are having difficulties getting along.” “He’s a dick.” I let out “Thinks his shit don’t stink.” Mr. James took

haha you never know! I just try to play it safe when I use sport or street terms. Glad to hear that most of you probably knew it! It means I can start throwing in more terms...Cy's words are definitely interesting.

It’s funny, everyone always goes on and on about how great teachers are…about how they open the door for their students…and yet all these teachers have done is stare at me. Every single class I went to I kept getting the same response, the same judgmental stare and dismissive sigh. It’s like from the first words I spoke, from my very first breath in their presence that they’d given up on me. Every one of them rolled their eyes as I told them my name was Cy not Riley. To them I extended the same

That night I dreamt of my mother’s death, a nightmare I haven’t had since I was a kid. There I lay in a pool of my own blood, the terrible burning sensation of the slash across my face hurting just as bad as it did that night, before I could stop it, before I could even scream…the knife plunged right through her and the life escaped her lips. “DUDE!” Aaron shouted, standing over me. Before I could think about what was happening I kicked him in the stomach and pounced over him. “Cy! Stop!” He ye

I'm really glad you loved it! Especially that you loved it more than velocity! Blinded will definitely have similarities and hopefully be a good blend of both.

They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, it’s funny, you think someone in my shoes would know that…yet when I first met Carter I assumed he would be some soft ass whiny rich kid. All the writing on the wall pointed to it, his pretty boy looks, the clothing he wears, the way he speaks…his sexuality! Yet I’m willing to put good money that he’s the only one around here who’s not afraid of me, the only one who will get in my face when he’s mad, and call me on my shit. The rest of the day w
