  1. ::Gasp:: Tsk tsk tsk.....for shame! Cheating like that! Hehehe! Nah, seriously, it's ok dude. I haven't had the chance to read the fanfic yet, but I'm pretty flattered that you'd use one of my characters in your story. Especially a Stephen King story spinoff! Cool! But you'd better help me advertise "GFD" when you get the chance! ::Giggles:: Anyway, I hope you get some good feedback, man! Let us know how it went over!
  2. By now, you've probably read hundreds, if not thousands of pages of online text, from a wild variety of different authors from around the globe. Each and every single story, whether it's a stand alone story or a series, a short one or a long one, a good one or...well, you know, (Hehehe!) has been trying to tell their own story. From a different perspective, a different angle, a different voice. Everyone has a story. But not everybody writes that story down to share with others. Which still leaves a very big library worth of stuff for you guys to read...but I'm sure there are a few things that you'd LIKE to see in a story, but haven't come across yet. So my question to you guys this week is....'what's missing'? What is it that YOU want to see that you haven't seen yet? What do you think is lacking in the themes and characters and content of the stories you read online? Maybe there's a personal issue that you relate to, and nobody has really dealt with realistically. Or maybe it's something that people seem to 'touch' on, but never go in depth like you want them to. Maybe there's a particular character that you're looking to see or to read about, and nobody seems to really develop anyone like that. Or perhaps there are entire genres of storytelling that you would love to see adopted into gay erotica. Whatever it is, let us know! What's missing, and how can we get those stories made?
  3. When you're reading a story online, and there are many MANY talented authors out there that are writing some VERY good material these days, you may come across a few that really begin to tug on the heartstrings as you read them. Some can make you laugh out loud to yourself, some can make you cry and really ache for the characters, some can infuriate you beyond belief, and some you just identify with to the point of finding a certain peace of mind in the text. What is it about these stories that does that for you? Is it a literary 'trick'? Is the use of words and descriptions on a once blank screen that strikes a chord in us? Is it the story itself, and the plot twists and lovable characters that does it for you? Or is it just a sense of familiarity with the material? Maybe you only feel that way about certain stories that relate to you personally. Whatever it is, there is something about the stories you read that creates a strong connection with your emotions, and makes the story stick with you long after you're done reading it? In reality, they are only words on a screen. But there's gotta be something else that keeps them close to your heart. What do you think that is? Give it some thought, and let us know!
  4. "And then, the 12 year old boy sensually slipped down his boxer shorts to reveal a 17" rock hard penis. He could already spew gallons of semen at his age, and even though this was his very first time doing anything sexual, he asked me to lick his hairy ass, tie him to the bed, and pour hot candle wax on his muscular chest!" Hehehe, okaaaaaay...so that's not the most realistic sex scene in the world, now is it? Nor is the old, "I saw this strange boy on the street, asked if I could f**K him, and he said yes...I've been having sex with my friends for years!" scenario. Naturally, when it comes to writing erotica, some kind of payoff isn't only expected, it's almost demanded in some cases. But how do you make that payoff 'believable'? How do you keep a reader locked into the idea that this kind of thing could really happen? What really loses you when you read a story where the sex just doesn't appeal to you? Where it seems fake, forced, or exaggerated? Let us know! We were all teenagers once, some of us still are, and we know what sounds believable and what doesn't. So what totally throws you out of a story's plot credibility when it comes to sex?
  5. Hahaha! Yeah, I'm feeling good in these new threads of mine! ::Grinz:: I don't know how I got back to being a 'newbie', but I'm sure I'll change that in a few weeks! I've got an online reputation to uphold afterall! Thanks for the suggestion dude! Hehehe, "Combot", I don't know why that sounds so cute to me. Anyway, I thought about a few ideas that I might try out here. First, how many 'writers' do we have here? I wanna know. Details to come soon!
  6. ((Hugz)) Thank you Viv! And I agree, I think that you do things for love that you wouldn't do for any other reason. (Lord knows I have) It's just that ability to lose yourself in someone else entirely that's so liberating. It's the one thing that separates us from all of the bullshit in our lives and makes things whole again. And beautiful.
  7. Hahaha! Thanks, you guys! I have a few things to tackle before I give you guys a solution or two to the problems that Billy seems to be accumulating in his life. But I certainly hope that you guys will enjoy the journey getting there. Ps- Don't worry. I love Bobby too.
  8. How do you like the new threads? ::Shows Off And Does A Little Spin:: Yes, I actually have my own avatar and everything now to post here! Thanks (ENTIRELY) to Topaz! Who is still posting faithfully for me on this board, and has been doing such an amazing job at getting everything just right! (Thank you, my lady...::Bows: I hope you guys like it! And I'm still here reading! The topics have started again, and I have some new ideas in the works, but if any of you have ideas on how to keep things 'active' in here, please let me know! I'm always open to suggestions! I always love to see what you guys are thinking. But I didn't really want this board to just be about 'me'! I've got enough ego stroking on the other boards to last me a lifetime! Hehehe! But we could always broaden our topics of conversation in here. So let me know what you think, and let's make this place home. ::Paint and Wallpaper Ready:: Seezya!
  9. Thank you so much, man! You know, I felt really good writing some more liberating material for Ariel. Sometimes, while I'm writing, I have to smile myself, and I swear that I can think back to high school and still hear that boy's laugh! Hehehe, he was gorgeous, but he'd just as likely punch you in the arm if you ever told him so. As for confidence, he found a bit more than he had in the past. And I'm sure you will too. Sometimes confidence can be built on faith, and other times, it takes a little bit of concrete 'proof' to build that faith. Having Tyler say yes to him might just have been the proof he was looking for. I think you're gonna like the places that confidence will take him in the near future. ::Grin:: Thanks again, and I'll seezya soon, k? ((Hugz))
  10. There is definitely some truth in the idea that an author has to have a certain level of faith in their writing ability in order to really put their heart and soul into their work. It may not be something that an author has to constantly 'think' about, but writing without confidence can be a long and labored experience for anyone. Can you 'feel' whether or not an author has that confidence when you're reading his or her work? Can you immediately tell when an author is afraid to take chances, or if he's holding back because of a lack of faith in his abilities? Can you tell if a writer is OVER confident? Do they seem cocky, or snobbish, in their delivery? Whether they're hiding from their audience or showing off in front of them...does this translate somehow to the people reading? If so, does it turn you off on a story? Or does it matter? Whatever your thoughts are, let us know!
