  1. Of all the stories you have read in GA - what are your favorites? List at least five, in order. Also make sure to provide the link to the actual stories, or name the authors. Write a brief summary (without spoling the story) if possible, and the reason why you like it. I haven't read much, so I am not going to comment yet. I will, once I'm done reading a lot of the stories listed here.
  2. If I truly fall in love and he asks for it earnestly, from his heart, I don't think I will be able to refuse him. Or if we get caught up in circumstance that is beyond our control - I think I will give myself to him. I will regret it big time in the future, though. On one hand, I have my cultural and religious values that had been instilled in me; responsibilities that I've towards my family and the society. And on the other side, I have my own desires, carnal and spiritual. Living without sex isn't difficult actually; it's living without love and having someone to hold and hug and cuddle and adore that is.
  3. When and how did you loose your story if you don't mind. As for me - I'm a virgin, and don't plan to loose it ever. Call me a monk or whatever you want - I really don't give a damn rat's a$$
  4. Is there a very big difference between eating liver and eating meat, when looking at it from an ethical perspective?
  5. I highly recommend you to read the book. It's a great piece of writing, and you are not going to regret reading it.
  6. Thank you. The book is extremely special, so thought it deserve its own place in the forum. I cannot remember ever shedding so much of tears before while reading a book - and it's not only at specific places - I cried through out the entire story (upto where I read). As they say, it would take the hardest of hard heart to not cry. A heart-rendering read, very enlightening, and eye-opening. But it's mostly Hassan who brought water to my eyes everytime his name is mentioned; such a beautiful character! As much as my heart bleeds down reading every single page of it, I do think it's worth the read, and that I won't regret reading it later. I had to put the book down, though - I couldn't take it anymore, and I needed a break from all the sobbings and all. I am feeling a lot better now, though, and I will start it again - and will try to finish it by day after tomorrow. And yes...reading it by my own accord; don't know if it was the right thing to do though. And I agree...we will discuss it thoroughly once I get finished. So you may have to wait another day or two, I'm afraid. But I will try to finish it as quickly as I can. Take care, and PM me if you feel like. By the way, just out of curiousity - when did you read the book? I mean how old were you, and what was its impact on you?
  7. Read half of "The Kite Runner" and I am already crying hysterically (for Hassan, of course). I am not sure if I will be able to go through the rest - as the first half is depressing enough to shatter me into pieces. But I will finish it either way. Anyone out there who read that book with whom I can discuss?
  8. I was surfing through random authors and reading stories out of blues, and ended up reading none of them - I skimmed through half of it, and coming to realize that the story isn't 'my thing' or isn't the way I want a good quality story to be, I had to end it up there, and find another story, until then, when I leave even that and go for another. As I said, I ended up reading none of it. So, just a piece of advise needed from experienced readers and writers of GA, here: Can you link some good stories here? By 'good', I do not necessarily mean having excessive gay romance, or too much complicated and mind-boggling plots. By good, I mean a good writing - a writing where there are character development, plot development, deeper meanings, symbolism to ponder over, etc etc. I can read any genres as long as it involves a good writing, that is both artistic, and also , entertaining. Have read Kevin's (A friendly face) stories, and liked his philosophical approaches. Thanks.
