The Hills are Alive and The Time Is Ticking - 1. The Hills Are Alive

The hills were not as they were,

The trees whistled in the breeze like a normal summers day.

The rabbits were in their burrows waiting for the daylight that would never come.

The darkness had come.

It was hungry…

It ate those that dare venture out into the darkness.

A cloud of nothing yet full of everything.

There was no hope in these hills,

With there being no light.

Not even from the moon.

These creatures so bold and shallow,

Craving the sight of food.

Their jaws wide and their minds set to kill.

And the hills were their home.

Will you come with me?

Into the darkness,

The many layers of creatures.

Nature was dying.

Mother Nature was gravely sick.

The hills were not as they were,

Oh the effect of mankind…
