I Watch Him Constantly - 1. Story

I Watch Him Constantly

By: Kanaye

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
The quick smile, a flash of straight teeth
The way of his laugh, his head tossed back
The sound echoes in my ears

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
The flash of anger in his eyes, the clenching of his fists
Those teeth gritted, words held back
Makes me fear his wrath

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
The sorrow, the tears when he is in pain
The way they slide down his perfect cheeks
Such a longing to comfort him

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
The spark of trouble in his eyes, mischief to be done
The glee at a prank well pulled off
I enthusiastically applaud him

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
He paces back and forth, his teeth chewing his bottom lip
Worrying about things lost in his head
I pretend to calm him

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
The flash of pleasure in his eyes, he loves surprises
His fingers fly as he removes wrapping paper
I want him to be my present

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
I wish he would see me, maybe smile in my direction
I wish for that flash of hunger at seeing me
But I am not perfect like him

I watch him constantly, gazing at every chance
I gather courage, reciting my speech
I walk up to him; reach my hand to touch his cheek
And only touch the smooth glass of the mirror.
