Odds and Ends - 1. Poem Odds and Ends
What other way is there but the highway
on a deserted road to nowhere
where the cotton grows
and the snow comes from the ground
and the weevil dies in the glory
hey
thinking about the yard work I should be doing
no, I just got online
you don't take care of yourself
it is a very pretty day outside and very warm
I will get all dirty and sweaty for sure
the trouble with being delusional is that it is not complete
it is like being asked to have faith in insanity
if you act crazy enough one day it will be real
you killed the moment
I wonder if that is why people don't like what I write
because I don't properly introduce them
sir this is my story, story this is a reader
and what is so strange about that
what opening
and
if I did ask such a question in a story
the main character would never ask it
he would ignore it
because it is too direct
too honest in short
not thought out
it is like a first time
you want it and he wants it
and you keep showing that to each other
and you both keep fighting it
and then one person says
sleep with me
and the other says no
and then the rest of their lives are spent with hidden combustion
it's just something thrown out across an obstacle
you still end up changing your direction
this is the best poem I have written in a while
should I thank you ?
I've even given it a title, Odds and Ends
if I was a real bastard I would publish it in two parts
mine first and yours second
you wanted me to write you poetry
it would be brilliant but I am delusional
should I
How're you doing?
Are you listening to music while you think?
So are you gonna work on it before dinner?
I had two burgers for supper
The first thing I've eaten in like, two days. I'm full
Like, it was a bad idea stuffed. Lol
I'm still alive, thats all that counts. Hehe.
And i think a pretty day is rain and chill
so once again i can't agree with you on that one
And why are you philosophising?
Are they coming for me with the straight jacket or you?
Okay, carry on
I had a feeling you were, but you don't introduce things sometimes
And you usually just say witty things so its hard to tell
Lol. Oh come on. I'm sorry
No i didn't mean that idiot
I meant, we're speaking about the weather one minute,
and the next you're all poetic hun.
Nothing. Just say for example your story started with 'will you marry me'
and then i get my hopes up.
You gotta tell me these things
And i love that opening by the way. Its very strong
My gosh you are cynical
What if they both want it and the one guy asks
and the other says yes.
Lets tip the glass and view it from underneath why don't we
Why thank me? You wrote it
You like confusing me don't you. Hehe.
