  1. hmm, I think this has more to do with active fans turning into passive fans, we've seen this many times. As the fresh factor of an new artist goes away, after 2 or 3 years, the noise kind of dies down and only the hard core fans are left, people who are neutral decide whether they buy the albums or not base on how good the songs are. What they talk about on a daily basis, are probably the new public figures that are popping out (Rebecca black etc...). Like you said. But the popularity is still there, it's just that they're not new anymore, Madonna is not mentioned on a daily basis by people, but she has clearly established fanbase, her tours are doing great. Same can be said with Celine's successful las vegas shows. I think the same is happening with Lady Gaga, when I was in my first year of University, that was 2009, we have had these frosh groups (orientation week groups), my group was p-p-p poker frosh, just when I was absorbing how popular this woman is, I look at the group standing behind us, it was called "Lady Gaga frosh". so yeah,... Now even Gaga does not have that power anymore, so I'd say the craziness has died down a bit for her, like it is with every other artist.
  2. hey , Taylor Swift is still very popular, her lastest album had impressive first week sale if I remember correctly. and if like you said popular figures today find it harder to have longevity, then if Lady Gaga makes it 10 years, it would be pretty impressive right?
  3. I prefer the suburbs . I've seen people criticizing the suburbs for strip malls, clone houses, uninteresting people. It seems to me that North Americans live in their suburbans big houses for far too long, and once you get used to something like that, it's no longer desirable. We're seeing to trend of reinventing downtown in many Canadian and American cities, and while that is a great thing, if one is truly interesting, she/he would be able to stand out anywhere, so no need to criticize suburban environment making people "dull" What I think is interesting is Asian immigrants who stayed long enough in "urban" environment back in their home countries, when they move into Canada or US, they tend to go into these big houses in the suburbs, it's the people who grew up here that are truly interested in downtown living, it just shows that you want what you never had I guess. As someone who migrated from China to Canada I have seen both sides, and I now prefer those suburbs that are clean and safe and quiet and not too far from convenient shopping locations and other public amenities.

I always dreamed that I would have many "after lives" after this one. So I wouldn't change anything about this life, and I would like do experiments with my other lives, would be good if I can actually design them From bigger things like race, family background, country of birth, to small details like which programs in University I would apply for I think several things I would never change is I'll always want to be male and I want to feel the attraction to boys, I don't care if I'm also attracted to girls, but I feel if I'm not attracted to guys, I would be missing out.

You've done so much that's admirable . And I totally understand why you would choose the other way if you had the option to.

  7. hmm, I like Lady Gaga more than the other so called gay idols (Britney, Madonna etc) But I don't like her enough to be truly inspired, and the only song of hers that I really like is Bad Romance. I think the only way she inspires me is her attitude during Interviews, she really does put on a personality, a "being famous" mind set kind of , so her interviews are usually fun to watch. And I'm always interested in her Music videos and can't wait for the upcoming Judas one, but I never got inspirations out of her MVs, they're just kind of fun to watch I guess.
  8. I'm just curious, is being gay not technically legal in Singapore? This wiki page seem to suggest this even though the law is not enforced? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_by_country_or_territory I know Singapore is a very developed country with some controversial human right record... ?
  9. I don't really know. Sometimes I feel like I was born with the trait, I was actually obsessed with a boy since kindergarten days. Other times I feel it may in influenced by my environment, either way it's not really a conscious choice. what really puzzles me is why are some obsessed with it being a choice or not? it doesn't seem matter to me because even if it is a choice, it's a choice affecting my life and perhaps a few consensual others. It does not directly affect anyone else. And we should have the right to make that choice, like any other choice in our lives.
