Unfortunately, it is neither of these stories. I know that the story was several chapters 30+ if memory serves correctly. I know that the story has a plot in it where a sister of one of the boys tries to frame or have the main characters killed or hurt. I also know that in the story one of the 2 main guys is lost in vegas etc and the first boy that they "rescue" has just been attacked/beaten up and one of the guys helps him out. I think that another of the boys rescued was from Utah and also in the story one of the men who work with the kids in the "home" is shot and killed in the story if that helps to revive any memories.
