Hey Lisa, got to thank you for picking up on the 'Adam' thing--Adam was an earlier draft name for Tom. Fixed, but it totally ruined my credibility there Yeah, I was thinking about what you said about Tom and the 'guy code', and it got me wondering--he's actually not perfect as I thought. He totally let Elijah feel bad about kissing Anna, when it turns out he wasn't interested in Anna all along! And now he's after Sophie... Guess it's easy to forget he's just a normal person because we only ever see him from Elijah's besotted perspective. Or maybe he just looks perfect because, compared to Elijah, anything looks morally upstanding Thanks for the review!

Hey Nephy, thanks for the review! Sorry it took so long to reply, I totally missed it... Yeah, Elijah's mother is one conquest he's unlikely to achieve in this story I'm afraid. Sorry A character like that there's just no dealing with, I think, and Out of the Woods is all about Elijah adapting around her--or adapting into a healthier shape I guess, since he's arguably already very adapted. No worries though, there's more than enough drama to go round! And thanks again for the reviews

Aw, sounds like you're falling into the 'I hate Elijah' camp Ah well. And I thought this chapter was one of the more sympathetic of the early ones! But everything you said was true though--he does have Tom wrapped around his finger. And about his perception of himself... I'd say it's pretty good, but that's just my opinion. My guess is that at the minute, Elijah's too fucked up to care so much about how he makes others feel. But that's what character progression is for, right? Thanks for the review!

But mabye this time I see your point, it was a pretty disconnected flashback. I figured it was useful because it would properly inform the y'all when it comes to understanding Chris/Elijah's future relationship. But yeah, point taken and thanks! And Elijah has Chris totally figured out. Totally. He's a clever kid There's actually a reason Elijah hates Chris, and he knows what it is but he's not saying...
