Oh boy, when it comes to Viktor, it's anyone's guess whether he's sincere or not. But, for the time being, let's say he's at least half sincere.

I hope Viktor is smitten by Shael, in a good way. That they are Mates. And which God (demi or otherwise) gave the other Sylph the task of taking his stole? Especially considering the other Sylph had to know how serious a thing that was to do? Was it the 'Grand-Father?' And what was the purpose? Was it seriously so Shael could 'find' Viktor? Really!?!? It can't have been to help The Pack get access to the Tome cause they would have got that, just not as easily. And he was on his way to see The Pack so it can't have been that. I hope Shael straightens Viktor out.

Yes, actually...there was a god behind everything...hired the other sylph to 'ground' Shael in the right spot because he is meant to be Viktor's mate (though Shael himself was hired by 2 other people)...things wil clear up more later.

Actually, we haven't even thought that far ahead.   A-hem...it's unknown as to when, exactly, or what catalyst will be the cause of Farshael trusting Viktor enough for the barrier to remain dormant.
