  1. Marcus looked out the front window and whistled with appreciation. “What year is that?” he asked. “I don’t fucking know,” Connor sighed. The Hummer sat on the curb, crammed full of his ragtag family. It was 7 in the morning now, and he still had no idea what the fuck he was doing, but M and Jack needed to be with everyone else. The blond was running around the front room, stuffing their things into their bags while the dog sat by the door with his tail wagging. They’d been in
  2. “I wish Greg hadn’t kicked the weed in the pool,” M said sadly as he watched Connor make up the couch with a sheet and some pillows. “I’d really like to smoke right now.” “Yeah. I get it,” Connor said, then he threw the sheet over the back of the couch and tucked it into the cushions. “I got a buzz off the beer though. It wasn’t too bad, I guess.” M made a face in reply. He obviously didn’t agree. That grumpy look wasn’t its first appearance tonight either. He’d tried at least. He’d wa
  3. M and Nathan had both escaped the crash unharmed and didn’t need treatment. The nurses let M sit beside Connor’s bed and Nathan was stuck sitting beside him. They wouldn’t let the teen see Jamie again. They were examining her. She’d mentioned being pregnant apparently and they were giving her extra attention. Connor had been nervous about M’s lack of identification and social security, but nobody had said anything. M held his hand under the blanket. Calm; his face blank and without emotio
  4. Connor left the house a little after 9am on Labor Day, hopped in the truck, and headed towards Bayside Landscaping for his interview. Julie had surprised him the night before with a new outfit, and he’d been too nervous to refuse it. He was wearing it now. Connor wore a preppy button-down shirt, a clean pair of jeans that fit him tight in the butt, and a sturdy pair of work boots. He liked the boots especially. He saw himself wearing them again even if he didn’t get the job. But he was
  5. Connor woke up early Saturday morning with a sharp pain in his head. He'd had another dream last night, one full of tension and distress, but he couldn’t remember anything but blackness… He groaned and rolled slowly onto his side to find M lay next to him, fast asleep and smiling gently. The golden rays of morning light touched his sun-warmed cheeks. He wasn't so pale anymore. A couple afternoons hanging by the pool with Jamie had reddened him up. Connor studied the boy's face in silen
  6. Connor drove through the night, stopping only once to fuel up on caffeine. M and the dog slept through the whole thing, the lucky assholes, so Connor was left alone with his thoughts. While the man in black was definitely on his mind, other, more pressing concerns such as Julie and her family took precedence. As they sped down the highway with Julie’s home in their sights, Connor felt a sickening mixture of rage and embarrassment. That whole side of Connor’s family was a total mystery. He’d neve

    Road Trip

I know! Though this story isn't as current as everyone assumes though.... I started writing this maybe ten years ago 😂
  8. An old Journey song played on the radio. Connor drummed his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat and stared straight ahead at the road. Beside him, M struggled to keep his eyes open. Every now and then, his head would drop, his chin resting on his chest and his blond hair falling into his eyes, and he’d sleep like that for a couple minutes, his head bobbing and swaying as the truck bumped along. Then he’d wake again, and he’d jerk his head up abruptly, blinking his eyes open and sittin
  9. Connor drove away from the ATM and turned out of the parking lot. They had close to $500 now and though Connor pocketed his ATM card, he wasn’t planning on using it again anytime soon. It wasn’t safe. Next step was finding a phone and luckily, Connor knew there was a payphone outside the Dollar Store, so they headed there first. It was just past midnight, and the roads were barren. Connor’s eyes were peeled, though. They had to get out of this car. They might as well have been drivin

    Exposed

Oh wow, I've never heard of that show. How weird!
  11. Connor got out of the shower, dried off and moved to stand naked in front of the sink. It was Sunday. The day Hannah had planned for them all to go out and celebrate the beginning of her teaching career. He was planning on going alone though. He and M hadn’t talked about it once since Connor had made the announcement. Things were good between them lately besides that. They got along, they talked, watched TV and spent time together doing normal household chores. At night, when Connor came h

    Adjusting

I'd imagine someone like Connor would have temper problems. Maybe it's inherited or just normalized by seeing it so much growing up, but I don't think he'd have an understanding of various coping skills and such.
  13. Aww thank you! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
  14. Thank you 😊 I appreciate the well wishes 🙏

    Arrival

    Aww thank you 🥰
  16. Connor was totally whipped. The aches and pains from his perilous run from the man in black were slowing him down. Adrenaline had filled Connor’s veins with fire during the chase, but now he was dead tired. He trudged through the forest in the heat. His clothes were drying quickly, at least. When he spotted the trailer through the trees, his heart started beating double time. What if the man in black was lurking around? What if he was already inside? He picked his way through the last

    Adjusting

No. Hannah and Connor didn't meet til college.
  18. Connor took the first hit off the bong. It was smoother than the blunt at Daryl’s and he was glad he had it. Since he was about to initiate a first timer and all. “Fuck,” he cursed as he let out an enormous cloud of smoke. M coughed a little and waved his hand in front of his face to disperse the cloud hanging between them. “What are you doing?” “Smoking,” Connor grinned at the little blond. He was so cute today. He was wearing a fitted gray t-shirt and skinny jeans that actually fit h
  19. Connor turned down Randolph Lane and punched the gas. It was a gorgeous area. Trees dotted the rolling hills of the wide-open landscape and every quarter mile or so, a new and beautiful mansion would appear in the distance. The large houses were set far from the road with long, curving driveways and the addresses were only visible on the mailboxes. The people who lived out here had lots of money… Connor had known a boy who’d lived in this neighborhood. He was an asshole and the entir

    Alone Again

Oh man, me too! 😉 Hannah is definitely jealous. She's never had to fight for Connor's attention before! I like th and idea of the ambulance, but didn't go that route. Yet. And if course I worked for Pizza Hut 😂🍕🍕 It was for research purposes 😉
  21. Connor got to Pizza Hut right on time. He was good at being on time, that’s why he excelled at deliveries. It was pretty lame, but he knew all the backstreets in town and he took them well over the speed limit because the cops didn’t care. If you wanted to go 60 down one of those old pothole laden roads, you were free to do it. When he got to work, he donned his hat and got out. He punched in the 4-digit code on the back door and slid inside. He grabbed the Pizza Hut car topper from the bac

    The Visitor

Ya know what, I skimmed the grocery store part because I knew it wasn't very important. This story is so large it's hard to do a good detailed edit. And no! I've never seen Caddyshack! That sounds funny though! 😂
  23. Connor hated shopping. The whole process was dumb. He had to grab a cart and wander the aisles because he never remembered where anything was. Milk was all the way on one side of the store and bread was on the other. Fucking stupid! He hated the crowds and long lines. He hated making small talk with the cashier. He hated the screaming kids, the annoying florescent lights, and the so-called super sales on overpriced junk. Grocery shopping was a nightmare, but he trudged through the glos

Oh yay! I'm so glad I found some new readers! This poor story has been collecting dust for a few years 😅
