Love Death Love by Kyle Grey ***** The setting sun cast long shadows across the beach. The orange lit sky matched the small bonfires. My hand was tightly wrapped in Rachel's as we walked along the ocean. "I want you to know that I still love you," I managed to say softly. "I know," she replied in a strained voice. I stopped to turn towards her. I caressed the side of her face and met her lips. We shared a short fleeting kiss before I pulled back. I was only to well a

Sometimes, remembering the past can be painful, especially when it shows up in the present. Abhi is shopping for an anniversary present when an old lover makes an appearance.

The Resolution by Kyle Grey ***** "Abhi, please. I know very well that you forgot!" "No, no darling, I did remember. Just be patient." I looked up at my wife's reaction, hoping that I had bought some time for myself. By the look of her face, I had succeeded. "Do you want more paranthas to eat?" she asked as she started rolling out the dough. "No, I have to get to work now." I got up from the dining table and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "See you in the afternoon,

The Blue Hour by york366 ***** The month of May was always very rainy in northern Texas. It had been raining for three days straight that week. They had been driving back from Wichita Falls late at night when it happened. The creek had been overflowing and the whole road was washed out. Their car got caught in a flash flood, overturned and struck a tree. Brent's dad was killed on impact while Brent died sometime on the way to the local hospital. They pronounced him dead on arrival

Brent never imagined that two of the most attractive people in school would both ask him to a party.

BLACKOUT By york366 12:15. Sigh. I leaned back against the lockers. It had been ten minutes since the lunch bell had rang and my friend, Nick, with whom I ate lunch everyday, still hadn't come to his locker. Everyone else had already come by, dropped off their books and left for the cafeteria. Everyone except that Nick. Where the hell was he? After one last straggler closed his locker and left, the hall was completely empty. I then decided that I should go to lunch myself. Lunch period

Another great chapter! This Ryan situation is getting interesting. Really curious to see what happens there. It was great to see Chloe and Shane hanging out together with Jake. And that Jake has finally accepted that he likes Shane. Wonder if things will progress now? I was wondering about Shane's history. Wasn't sure if it was mentioned but is this his first relationship also? Of course, if I had the time I would happily re-read the whole story to find that out. Also, I really find it interesting that the characters aren't able to fully express themselves with their words all the time. This was very evident with Ryan in this chapter. Of course throughout the story, Jake especially stumbles around with his words leaving many things unclear. It gets a bit annoying sometimes but I like it because it is actually very realistic. It really helps capture the character's emotion. Eagerly looking forward to the next chapter!

Really awesome! So happy to see all these characters again. Especially Rory. Totally got me by surprise. Hope we get to know more of what he is up to. My favorite lines so far: lol! Are there really going to be only about four chapters? -
Ah! This story is getting better by the chapter! And jake is finally opening up to having a "boyfriend". Obviously there are many problems ahead though. I was a bit confused about the end of chapter eight. Is it Ryan walking in on Jake and Shane or Jake actually feeling up Ryan? I originally thought the former but from what other people said maybe it's the latter? Which also brings up the question of why Jake couldn't tell it was Ryan and not Shane.
-
I could be wrong but it was just the way Ryan snapped at Jake and then said, "None of the girls I’ve dated even speak to me anymore unless they’re telling me to f**K off." And Ryan doesn't want that with Chloe. "Chloe’s my friend. I like it that way." So he didn't want to see her as anything else but a friend right now because he doesn't want to lose the good friendship he has with Chloe. But that doesn't necessarily mean that he couldn't see her as anything else. Jake only interprets it that way. Just my own interpretation

Chapter 6 = AMAZING I loved it! Especially the "evil cliffhanger"! I really liked the way you showed Jake's slow realization that he couldn't fix his "problem". Very nice. The whole date with Tracy was really well written. In general, I also really like how you can keep this story fresh with a humorous tone. Also, it was kind of between the lines but it was cool to know Ryan is aware that if he dated Chloe now, he would probably ruin it and he didn't want that to happen. Looking forward to the next chapter!

[Libby Drew] Between Lives
york366 replied to Libby Drew's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
This has to be one of the most well written stories I have ever read on this site. Your writing is amazing. It's an art to capture the moments the way you do. Simply amazing. I love the story too. A very interesting premise and I am excited to see where this goes. I personally like the budding relationship between Nate and Bran. Hope to see more of that in the coming chapters. So yeah. Very eagerly looking forward to the next chapter! -
Great story! I have really enjoyed it so far! I like the interactions between the characters and I also really like the development. Everything has been great building up to that almost... well I won't spoil it for others here! So it seems to me that Shane definitely knows about Jake? Like when he says "I know you don't," he kind of acknowledges he knows that Jake is confused. And then when he apologizes it's like he's apologizing for taking that step too quickly. It's going to get really interesting now since both of them are certain of the other's orientation. Is Jake going to get over his fears? Will Shane try to help? Now I really can't wait for the next chapter!

wonderful wonderful! i've always loved your stories and this one really looks great so far! i especially like the rustic location and the more mature characters. i also liked how the characters have pasts that you are slowly unrevealing. maybe there is something hiding back there that will become important later? anyways, really looking forward to more chapters! p.s. i'm also waiting for more of he got to me. any hope of that?

thanks for all your comments! i wrote the story basically around a past, present and future for conner, each defined by a different boyfriend, and how the three get tangled through flashback and paramnesia. i'm glad you all liked it!

Krista, I am really enjoying your story. It's refreshing to read something different from all the other run of the mill stories. Your characters have life and dimension, the dialogue is real and not cliche, your storyline is interesting and keeps the reader wanting more. For weeks, I have unsuccessfully tried to find a good story to read and I am glad to finally find something that I enjoy reading. Keep up the good work!

yay! i love the new chapter. i hope the third chapter won't take so long. i like where the story is heading. it will be interesting what happens to jay. also, it seems no matter what, someone will get hurt. the interesting thing is that so many people are in jay's position and have to make a decision (like krishna). the only complaint i had was that you seem to be hurrying through some potentially good scenes like ryan showing up at the shagoon. in my opinion, that is really one of the most important scenes in your story so i hope you will do it justice. i would also suggest adding some more details to make the surroundings come more alive. just some thoughts though, the story is great anyways. i really hope to read chapter 3 soon...
-
okay yay! i'm glad you noticed the time difference! it will be important later on. i guess the story is confusing but i think that's the way i want it to be as it reflects the state of mind of the narrator who is a faulty narrator. the story is unconventional so i won't be surprised if some people don't like it. hopefully it will make more sense with some more chapters.
