Thank you for commenting. I understand the reasons for wishing Pierson to stand trial. I'm sure for a man like him, it would be a much worse fate than death. In fiction, though, death is tidy. It spares his son Mark and Dylan Kees the additional trauma of a trial in which they would appear as witnesses, and it removes the possibility of his eluding justice. Suicide for a supposedly devout Christian of his stripe is the ultimate hypocrisy. If he really believed, he couldn't have chosen that route.

My other stories are published at a site that deals with a particular fetish. You can probably guess what it is from some of the content in this story. 😉 I'll be happy to tell you where to look for them, but they may bore or even offend someone who doesn't share this interest.

Thanks for the comment! Love the quotation.

Thanks for commenting, Geron. You raise some valid issues about cp, and some of them extend to punishment in general. I wouldn't argue punishment doesn't have its place in discipline, but I have little faith that a discipline system that relies heavily on it will be effective in the long run.

Thanks for the comment, weinerdog. Somehow I overlooked this one earlier. It's a good comment. Sorry I only just now noticed it.

He's probably the sort of man who has made enemies through his toxic interpretation of religion. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks, Ivor! I hope so also.

I will do. I'm learning the site, so I didn't realize there is an option to mark stories as complete.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Clancy. I share your anger with the clerical/attendance staff. If this happened in real life, I'd definitely expect repercussions. Accountability for students' whereabouts is a huge responsibility for schools. I'm not sure why so many failures happen, but it is an issue; and it can easily lead to tragedy.

Thank you, drsawzall! I'm glad the story could evoke responses. It describes some terrible things, which, unfortunately, are not just the product of imagination. I don't have any ideas for a continuation right now. If I can find a way to continue their stories, I'd like to revisit the characters. I've grown very fond of them.

Thank you so much, weinderdog! I think I may have the same person in mind when I speak of Pierson's followers. This isn't my first story. Thank you again for your saying such a kind thing.

    Chapter 6

Thank you, chris! The characters really did deserve a happy ending. They went through terrible ordeals.
