  1. Everything you said was all too true, especially that last line. I think a lot of us are like that, hehe. And of course, maybe that's why your name-tag says "Cynical Romantic" I'm kinda going through the same thing with my best friend right now, and it really IS difficult to try to lead separate lives when you're forced to see the person day-in and day-out..whether it be at work, with the same friends, in the same house even. As much as you want to tear yourself away because you know it's good for you, its that much harder because you literally CAN'T. As far as Ryan and Lacy go, I see them resolving their conflicts a lot easier (and sooner) than Owen and Aiden (/cry!) NOW WHERE'S CHAPTER 23?! *is an addict* haha
  2. LOL! I love puns...they make me feel warm inside. Haha. Ok, seriously though...I really did like how chapter 22 ended, with Dennis actually revealing that he didn't want Travis to make out with anyone. And the way he said it was so...Dennis-like. As if to not actually show he cared too much by hugging Travis and going "please don't make out with anyone else, it'll break my heart!" At the same time, I think everyone here is a little bit unnerved by the Owen/Aiden situation. I mean, they're going through their problems, but at the same time...you gotta love how clingy we all are to these characters, as if we knew them in real life. By us whining (and I don't mean that as a bad thing, you guys. I whine about this story all the time, it's hilarious lol) and feeling emotions over these fictional characters, it really does just go to show how badass Dom is. And now...really... WHY CAN'T OWEN AND AIDEN JUST BE HAPPY TOGETHER?! /cry Hahaha. I had to say it! It's killing me to see them like this!! lol Really though, I think the party that really REALLY got to me, oddly enough, was Ryan Sader and Lacy Chapman. I mean, the friendship those 2 had was amazing! It put COUPLES to shame how well those 2 clicked on almost every single part. I remember reading about how they could just look at each other and laugh for no reason, and how they do silly things like chew almost 3 whole packets of gum just to see who can blow the biggest bubble... /sigh. They're just cute together, even as just friends.
  3. Oh my jebuz. Dom's back. Of course, saying welcome back and telling you how happy I am would be redundant...as everyone else has said those things in every form possible already lol. So instead I'll just sit here and say.. HOLY CRAP ITFB CHAPTER 21 AND 22! Sometimes I feel like a giggly little school girl, or one of those american teenage girls that watches some horrible love-dovey-soap-opera and goes "like, ohmygosh, i cant believe jill and jackson would hook up, like, totally, especially when like, briana was RIGHT THERE! wow!" ...........and yet I enjoy it when it comes from Dom's stories. hahahaha.
  4. There's a minimum number of posts to see this?! /gasp Sad..I don't have enough.
  5. I'm right there with ya. True, he has no moral obligation to us; if anything, we should be thanking him for allowing us to read that wonderful creation of his. And yeah...I'm seriously dying to read more of ITFB *cry* He'll be back eventually, no worries. It's Dom..he's bound to come back -.- and if he ever comes back and says he's not writing more, then we can start a mob of complaints and burn his house down lol
  6. There's a quote from The Long Way that got my attention. It was in the last chapter, when Dennis was talking to Owen. He said the following to Owen: "I mean, you’re only as good as the people who choose to care about you, Dovan. If there’s any truth in that, I say you’re better off without them." What exactly did he, or did Dom, mean by that? "You're only as good as the people who choose to care about you." I asked some of my real life friends this, and I got some interesting feedback. Two friends agreed that Dennis was wrong. Why would you rate how good of a person you are by those around you? You can have some pretty crappy parents, but that doesn't necesarily make you a horrible person. This was their argument. But I had argued back that perhaps it's not the fact that the people are around you, but rather that you let yourself stay near them. If they're such bad people, then you should get rid of them, right? Even if they are your parents (as horrible and difficult as that may be). Another friend had agreed somewhat to Dennis, saying that the bigger number of people there are that actually care about you, the better you are. It sounded like the person was saying something like, the more friends you have, the better you are. Which I also disagree with; I don't really think it comes to a matter of "how many friends you have", but rather "how well they like you and to what ends they would go to protect you". Personally, I thought it meant something more like... If the people in your life are all people that care greatly about you, and have a good influence on you, and love you, then you're a better person because of it. You're better because not only are you surrounding yourself in a good environment, but you also got rid of those that did some sort of harm to you. You had the sense to not let those "bad" people get to you. I know that, if I were Owen, I think I'd be a better person by finding a way to leave my parents; they'd be a bad influence, and I wouldn't want that in my life. Of course, this sort of ordeal is both heartbreaking and difficult to deal with, but that's why it makes you all the while stronger for being able to fix the problem. I don't know, something about what Dennis said just got to me, and I'd like to know what Dom meant by it. Any other feedback would be appreciated I ask you all because my real life friends have never read this story, and I think they may have different opinions if they had read it.
  7. Thank God I read this all AFTER I finished the story (though, believe me, it was hard NOT to peek in these damn forums lol). I think everyone's made good points so far, and it may be safe to assume that both Travis and Dennis have lines said about them in ITFL that points to them being both tops and bottoms. Dennis has experience...Travis thinks that nothing's been up his butt so far...and then of course, there's all the actual emotions (such as Dennis being "masculine" and "in-the-closet", and Travis being carefree, etc etc) to consider too.. So for now, I'd say that Dennis bottomed (again, pointing to the quote where he urged Travis on faster/harder/whatever)...but it would be reasonable to say they could switch off in the future. And hopefully, we'll actually get to see it happen this time though with how ITFL has been going, I'm not sure if any really sexual scenes will come up. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. I only scanned most of the replies, so $5 says I basically repeated everything without knowing it ^^ I'm a tool.
  8. I'm fairly new here, but even I have Dom Syndrome. *sigh* Man these stories are addicting..
