They found a mouthpiece in Black to speak the hateful and idiotic bigoted ill thoughts that they deem gospel on the front page of The Seattle Times. If this wasn�t crazy enough, they found a person of tainted cloth to preach hatred and oppression. I guess that they were betting on the fact that since the man is a man of man preaching man�s words, it�ll hold true to the unsuspecting public. And since it�s coming from an Oreo point of view their crap isn�t one sided. No, this wasn�t enough to turn me blonde and blue eyed from the shock of it all. The Hate Rally at Safeco Field nearly was though! Thank God, for the Gay Activists and Supporters of our cause kicking their ass in a counter attack. This is another Saga at another time. Okay, let�s get back to where it all started which was the Headline screaming; �Gays are not the nation�s new African Americans.� This was the teaser into the same old yawn and gag bullshit, which is homophobia at it�s hateful only this time in Black. The Religious Wrong and Clipped Wing dimwitted view was repeated in its stupidity by Ken Hutcherson, Cult Leader of Anti-Christ Bible Church in Redmond. There goes the neighborhood! First of all, Gays never claimed to be the new African Americans. Number one, gays aren�t from African nor are they American. It�s Gay Nation, okay? Number two, who wants to be deemed as the new niggers of the 21st Century? I don�t! I don�t like being the old nigger of decades past. Of course, if this were true, I�d be a nigger twice, which isn�t as nice. Since it�s not, I say to this Satanic Leader, �BULLSHIT!� The same bullshit that Mr. Hutcherson stepped in then wiped on the front page of The Seattle Times. He credits over 100 Black Clergy who met in Atlanta to publicly object to the comparison of gay marriage to the civil-rights movement. Duh? There�s no comparison except for the fact that Blacks weren�t allowed to marry which is why common-law marriage is still the norm in the Black Community. This is also why Blacks �Jumped over the broom� which became the traditional marriage rituals for Blacks in the earlier days. This is an attempt to make the Black community believe that gay marriage is wrong. This is also an attempt to make the society think that Blacks feel the same way that the Religious Wrong and Clipped Wing do towards us. Damn shame, ain�t it? You read it here first, the majority of your Black ministers are closeted, paranoid, Queens in denial who are out and about on the �low-down�. Yes, this is low-down, but I�m talking about Black men who have sex with other men and claim that it�s not gay sex since they�re not gay. If you�re getting dick on both ends you�re gay! No ifs, buts, or lying about it! This is why I joined the Catholic Church where Queens rule the altar with no hesitation or denial about their sexuality. Being gay is taboo in the Black community but at the same time they don�t hassle you about it. Why? Because it�s a well-known fact in the hood that you don�t mess with sissies. They�ll f**k you up or have somebody f**k yor ass up! On the logical side, Blacks had to fight long and hard to get a facsimile of Civil Rights. They�re the last to deny others the same rights that they struggled for and still are. In Washington alone, racism and discrimination are as subtle as a train wreck. You know it�s true! Blacks also know that the same arguments used against them are now being used against Gays. Most Blacks don�t discriminate against others because they�re discriminated against themselves. Most Blacks don�t listen to what being said in their so-called churches and think for themselves. Amen, to this! Then there are those Blacks who believe everything someone tells them especially in church where homophobia gets deemed as the living word. These are the same people who get off putting someone else down to make themselves look good. It�s inferiority in Black! This same lot will also tell you that someone else said the hateful crap and they�re just repeating what they heard. Too ghetto for me! At first people weren�t too concerned about gay marriage because it looked like impossibility. Now, that it�s a possibility becoming more and more of a reality with gays and lesbians marrying. People are against it. Don�t go figure! It�s the same for equal rights for gays; people are against it the same bigoted way that they were against civil rights for Blacks. They got over the Black issue now it�s time for these dimwits to get over the gay issues. Ken Hutcherson needs to focus on the main issue at large in the Black community. Which is, Blacks being a large part of the AIDS/HIV+ epidemic. 67% of Black women are infected with AIDS/HIV from heterosexual sex. As I mentioned in an earlier Saga, 10% of Seattle�s population is Black with 3% being infected with AIDS/HIV. It�s more than this because Blacks don�t get tested for the virus. Nor do they use condoms which is considered to be unmanly. In a CDC report published in the February 20th issue of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, 64% of newly reported HIV cases stemming from heterosexual contack were among women and 74% were among Blacks. Overall, 55% of new HIV infections were among blacks, compared with 31% among whites and 11% among Hispanics. And get this, Blacks and Hispanics represent only 21% of the population in the states examined in the report, they accounted for 84% of new HIV case acquired through heterosexual contact, according to the report of Marchione, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 2/19. Among young people, young women and young minority Americans have been particularly infected. In 2001, teen girls represented more than half at 56% of reported HIV cases among those 13-19. Young African Americans represented 61% of new AIDS case among 13-19. Younger men who have sex with men and younger men of color who have sex with men and are lying about it are at high risk with the numbers to prove it. With numbers like this, these so-called Black clergy and other concerned Black citizens should start cleaning up in their own kitchen and stay out of ours. Blacks don�t think that AIDS is an issue to them because they consider it to be a White disease caused by genocide. At the same time they believe that it�s God�s will for gays who are infected and die from it. As individuals we are strive to change for the better and life is full of changes that take place during our journey. Throughout our daily lives we encounter many programs designed to help us manage ourselves, our work and even our families. There are computer programs, weight programs, 12-step programs and educational programs. We choose from programs that direct, maintain and improve the spirtual aspect of our lives. We are all unique beings with the unique responsibility of expressing the goodness of God as only we as individuals can. We have our own prayer program to keep us consciously connected with God. We have our own program that insures us to treat our fellow man with love and compassion. Our spiritual program covers every aspect of our life. It includes an effort to deliberately look for opportunities to express love, time for prayer, meditation and study. For those of us on a spiritual journey and growing into strong, positive, spiritual beings this works miracles. Many of us, though not in college, seem to be majoring in the minor things of life. We have placed so much attention on the minor irritations in our lives that they have become major. Minor irritations include stressing over the choices that others have made for their lives. Minor irritations come when we try to force our choices on others. Minor irritations are often things that are not our business. Our focus on their presence and our efforts to manipulate give them power and cause them to grown into major issues. There are those of us who declared a new major, "Healing and Restoration of Self" or "Peace, Joy and Happiness." The first required course is "Changing Thoughts 101. As we change our thoughts, we put God first. With the realization of our desire for a new life and start majoring in God's Blessings for our life. Change starts with one's self. The Saga Continues.... Straight From D Hard! By Nevin Jefferson My best friend of 24 years confided in me about a problem that he's been experiencing lately. I've been hearing the same moans, groans, complaints, and boo-hoo's from many people. With my best friend, he wants an answer and he wanted it yesterday! In the development of strange in the Land of Queerdom, it seems that men are saying, "I love you" way too early in the spectrum of things. My friend feels that the person doesn't know him completely as a person yet nor does the person know that much about him to say that they love him. He questions the person who states this acclamation of affection and desire with his throwing the person out afterwards. The other problem is that once he has sex with the person they become obsessive and possessive. Not to mention demanding his full attention, closing him off from his social contacts while questioning his friendships with others. Things got to the point where my friend and his now ex were out at a bar and the guy went ballistic when my friend started a conversation with an old acquaintance. The guy, who isn't a memory to my friend at this point in time, announced to the entire bar that my friend was his and nobodies else and that he belonged to him. During their brief courtship the guy kept professing his undying love to my friend who "liked" the guy with nothing more to add to it. I was asked to give the perfect answer and reaction when somebody blinds sides you with "I love you" after two weeks. I told him to tell the person "I'm very fond of you" or "I like you a lot" then look the person directly in the eyes and make the suggestion that they take it slow. After a series of "I love you" encounters my best friend stopped dating for an entire year with getting close with a man being the last thing on his mind. If someone asked him out, he'd cuss the person out! It wasn't Blue Skies or Rainbows during this exile from the romance department. My friend braved the storm and accepted a date from a guy whom he'd known for a while and felt comfortable being around. It was also one of the ill-fated guys who had asked him out earlier and got called every name but the one his mother gave him. After a night of passion, the guy rolls over and says; "I love you!" My friend sat up in bed and lit a cigarette and responded with; "Get your ass out of that door!" Now my best friend wants me to explain to him why men act this way. Why say "I love you" when you really don't know the person well enough to love them? Why do men act obsessive, jealous, and possessive after having sex with you? The rest of my camp wants to know the answer to this as well with my answer better being the one that they want to hear while helping them understand this situation. There is an answer to dealing with a person who humiliates you in public, tries to breakup your friendships, has jealous rages, and is obsessive towards you. Exit stage left! It could be a great many of things that causes a person to blurt out those three magic words to some and a death sentence to others. There's love at first sight. By Nevin Jefferson Are your looks worth dying for? In a recent study it was greatly noted that HIV patients are willing to risk their health by not taking Aids medications that cause Lipodystrophy. They would rather die than experience sunken and gaunt faces, large abdomens that look like an overdue pregnancy, large waists, breasts, fat pockets in the groin area and buffalo humps on the back and behind the neck. It also causes fat deposits in the blood stream that cause the heart to pump harder putting one at risk for open heart surgery. It's deformity of obesity with the fat deposits not burning off with regular diet and exercise as your body distributes fat deposits with hideous results. Are looks that important? According to these patients, this side effect is worst than the HIV virus itself. They want to keep their appearance the way it is than go on the medications that cure you with a cost. They don't want to pay it off in looks! Appearance is everything. They're willing to face a greater risk of death as a sacrifice to save their looks. It's all for Beauty and zilch for becoming a Beast that'll get them shunned and scorned in the gay community. The vanity factor wins! Then let's not forget about the emotional trauma that a person goes through during a life altering experience. The person has to learn to cope with the situation without losing their mind! Going from Body Beautiful to the Incredible Bulk complete with ripping clothes and popping buttons is a major freak out. So is it better to die first? Is the thought of not being able to wear yellow again because people will yell; "Hey Taxi!" too much to bear? In the beginning there were no treatments for lipodystrophy and Doctors didn't have a clue on what it was or what caused it. The Pharmacy Industry refused to take any of the blame with some of them funding research to back them up. There are treatments available with cosmetic surgery being one of them. Are the treatments worth it? I asked my best friend who's suffering from lipodystrophy and he commented the following: "There are other medicinal avenues now, that supposedly, do not contribute to lipo. I am on kalitra, agenerace, and ziagen. My hump has seemed to have stopped growing, but will now need to be removed by a plastic surgeon. The injectable, serostim, did not help me, in fact made things worse, as far as arthritic inflammation. I stuck with it for 4 months, but said f**k it. My joints were swell and aching way too much, for me to continue this unaffective treatment. I hope these few words will help." We're back to damn if you do, and damned if you don't! The key factor here is dealing with it and finding a treatment that works. The Medical profession is still uncertain on what causes this and they don't have an accurate count on how many people suffer from it. This is another one of those things that's being kept hush-hush to avoid hell, havoc, and pandemonium from breaking out. With people opting to chunk their meds with Death camping on their doorstep, I can see why. Due to finger pointing and confusion on the subject, you the dear public are being lead to believe that the cases are few. They're not! I went from former Dancer, Model, Runner up in a Beauty Contest, and Poster Boy to Classic case of Lipodystrophy. Talk about your titles gang! I went from being a perfectly active person to an immobile flab of flesh with all of the ugly trimmings. I had the fat, sunken, face with a buffalo hump, tits for days, fat pocket in my groin area and the good and knocked up look. I also had pinched nerves, a shot lower back from all of the weight, swollen feet, with a case of Neuropathy (muscle deterioration) to keep it company. I went from a size 32 waist to a size 53 and from a large to triple X in shirt size. I went from a solid 188lbs to a scale breaking 398lbs not to mention furniture breaking. It was my furniture; I bought it, so it wasn't a big deal. I just went out and bought sturdier furniture to hold the excess tonnage that I was carrying. Did I want to die? Nah! I was already dying from resistance and mutation so I didn't have this as an option. I was bummed out over the fact that I would make an ugly corpse. Which was why I voted for a sealed and nailed shut coffin. My lover moved into the guest bedroom and locked the door at night so I couldn't come in for sex. He also began an affair leaving me at home alone with only the company of Bootsie. My Blunder Kitty who loved to make a spot on my stomach and go to sleep. Of course, I rolled over on him more times than many. With my having a pissed off Kitty who hissed at me before going into hiding. I was in chronic pain and very sensitive to the touch. Did I want to die? Nah! I wanted to enter a baton twirling competition but couldn't because I couldn't fit the skirt. I had to quit singing in the church choir because the walk down the aisle wiped me out. I was in total discomfort with nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue adding on to the fun. Did I want to die? Nah! The rate of the users sexual partners rose to an average of 5.4% . Living up to its 'rep as a sexual stimulant those not suffering from the limp noodle syndrome are popping em like crazy. This paid off dividends in the sum of a new STD to 50% of the users. The At Risk payoff is in the sum of overdose benefits , priapism, an erection that lasts for hours with extreme pain adding interest to potentially disabling effects. Speed, Ecstasy, and Poppers are used as a catch which is odd because the above three drugs are the major cause of impotence. Which is why Viagra is a buy for poor judgment in the Bull Market. When Viagra is combined with Poppers this could pay off in the sum of a drop in blood pressure , crashing into fainting, heart attacks, and strokes. And that's it for the Cock Market News! Underneath the tip of the iceberg lay the real problem, here gang. The chilling factor is Self-Destructive behavior in the gay community. Substance and Alcohol abuse is a way of life for some who need something more to make it through the day. Abusive relationships exist because one believes that they deserve it and will never do any better. And besides, it beats being alone. In a world filled with hatred, bigotry, ignorance, and major stupidity of the worst degree, it's no wonder that some people get excessive in their behavior. Being the odd man out and the puzzle piece that doesn't fit in the picture, has it's effects. One can get a feeling of being lost, alone, and empty. Everyday problems mount as tensions build causing a raging inferno inside one's self. An escape is needed, something to make everything go away. Via substance or alcohol you seek the rush that will numb you with the hurt not being as bad. You need your own private world where you can seek refuge and solace from life. The thing is that problems don?t go away, they get worst and so do you! Misery loves company, so you'll attract negative likes of people who completely gave up and plan to stay that way. They hold you down and during the process, point out that you have a problem when their habits are twice as bad as yours. Welcome to the world of Hell! In order to break free of substances that you can't live or have fun without, you need a timeout. A time to soul search and put things into perspective by going deep inside yourself and making changes. You'll pull yourself up with your inner strength and slowly begin to put things into balance. You have to cut the cords that bind and set yourself free of those who don't have your best interest at heart. You want to stay on the positive side eliminating the negative as it arises in your life. Life isn't easy, you're going to have challenges which life is all about. Conquering those challenges and standing victorious as the rumble and dust clears makes you a winner. In the process, you'll learn to love yourself, others, and have a loving relationship with another person. This is hard work, but the payoff is worth it as you cash in on a better you. Once upon a time, I was a depressed, suicidal, sissy lost of all hopes and dreams. I couldn't deal with my sexuality, myself, or pretending to be the person that everyone wanted me to be. I feared that if I told anyone that I was gay, no one would like me or have anything to do with me. I already felt alone and I really didn't want end up abandoned by those who supposedly loved me. I knocked off a half a gallon of rum and a case a beer a day. I hit the lines standing in a pretty roll from a mirror and I did poppers on the dance floor and in the bedroom. I did it all, I didn't care! Then one morning while laying in bed feeling like over done crap I cried out to God, who heard me and answered my prayers. With wisdom, I realized that I preferred men and I shouldn't be ashamed of it. I was the same person with nothing being different except the fact that I LOVE MEN. If a person truly cared about me, it wouldn?t make any difference what-so-ever. The kicker to this was, that I was grown, took care of myself, and was responsible for myself. What I did was my business! I lost the desire to drink and do the drugs that made life bearable. I went into therapy with my problems ending as my sessions came to an end. This was my happy ending. This was 18 years ago, which I refer to as my Days of Low where I hit bottom and bounced myself back up into a better me. Life became a gift which I cherish each and everyday. I'm not giving anyone or anything the power to take this gift away from me. It's mine! I got a life in the process of becoming the person that I am now. I joined a gay bowling league, joined and became a Board Member of two social organizations, have Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner for people who don?t have anywhere to go or have a family to share the day with. I got active and involved in the gay community determined to help make a difference by being different. Being who I am, and transforming into the individual that I am today. Yes, I'm still in therapy to help me deal with things while continuing to build myself into the better person that I am. So, to those of you with self -destructive tendencies, I strongly give you the advice that it isn't that deep! Imagine the best for yourself with treasures bestowing upon you each and everyday. Then start living by setting your mind to do something and accomplish it. You can do anything that you want to, if you really want to. This isn't easy, if it was, everyone including their mother would be doing it. As a whole, the gay community has a lot going for itself with people like you and I to make it a better place. The Saga Continues.... The Right Stroke! By Nevin Jefferson Oh joy, girls and studs! Another first in Gayville, a gay couple is expecting a bundle of four in August. Yes, a ready-made family consisting of three boys and one girl for a hair stylist and his lover who own a salon. No doubt about it, somebody is definitely have to be a stay at home Mom. The surrogate mother is a client of the salon and is said to be doing fine with four loaves in the oven. The couple hails from Lexington, Kentucky the State that asks the question; "If a couple gets divorced are they still brother and sister?" The breeder genes were intact as the cup runneth over for the in-vitro fertilization process with a result of quadruplets. According to the couple, raising children is important and they're going to raise their kids to be good people. One gets to play "Father Knows Best" with the other playing "Donna Reed".Can't you just die?! A sonogram hangs on the wall of the salon for all to see and share in their joy. Now of course, we live in a world where your house is either bombed or burned while you're in it by mindless twits with hearts of hate. There are those who say that the happy couple should stay private while others say; "Go for it!" and go for the perks like John Q. Breeder would in this situation. Quadruplets are uncommon with 18 sets being born in Kentucky since 1975 with the latest addition being more uncommon and a triumph for gay couples all over. My sexy female friend, who has gone from slinging and posing around my home to putting together my lawn mower and showing me how to mow a lawn, thinks that this incident is going to be ignored by the media just like the birth of quadruplets to a Black couple would be. What a world, huh? I would love to see this couple get the free diapers,baby food, toys, cash, and everything else that is deserving of the happy family.Why shouldn't they take all of the endorsements that they can get and then some? Wouldn't it be nice to have Gerber Babies that are from our very own? Why can't these be Fisher-Price Kids? Martha Steward is gay-friendly wouldn't it be nice if she did a kids line for this happy family to be? That and child proof the house on her show. The possibilities are endless. Why shouldn't they be on the Morning Shows aplenty? They should also do the talk show circuit with an audience of their peers without the so-called opposing sides that producers insist on. They should do interviews and photo shoots for all of the Family magazines including the cover.Family is the latest craze with most people opting to have one, so why not? This is a family! This is the real world that we live in where gays are capable of raising children and have been for years. Our joy shouldn't be wrecked by fear nor should our sense of peace be shattered by the stupidity on parade from the unmoral majority. Anyone in his or her right mind knows that you never piss off a hairdresser,look at Anita Bryant. To this day she still can't get her hair and makeup done. Or more recently the Super Model who mouthed off about Ru Paul using her name in his hit song "Super Model". At her next big show no hair dresser or makeup artist would go near her forcing her to do her own. When she hit the runway, she looked like a street chick with big knockers with nobody recognizing her. She immediately apologized and retracted her statement to save face, for real! With this in mind, the happy couple can milk the cow dry without a worry. Then there's the old adage,never screw around with gays, they will get you in the long run and it's going to be real cute! It makes quite the gossip and a good story to make the rounds through the community. And have I got news for my fellow lesbians who want to add a little dividend to their relationship. My Doctor placed me on blood pressure mediation that retained water. I had matching giant chafes that went with my swollen feet. I went from a size 32 waist to a size 53 and from a large to triple X in shirt size. I went from a solid 188 lbs. to a scale breaking 398 lbs., not to mention breaking furniture. It was my furniture. I bought it, so it wasn't a big deal. I just went out and bought sturdier furniture to hold the excess tonnage that I was carrying. Did I want to die? Nah! I was already dying from resistance and mutation so I didn't have this as an option. I was bummed out over the fact that I would make an ugly corpse. Which was why I voted for a sealed and nailed shut coffin. My lover moved into the guest bedroom and locked the door at night so I couldn't come in for sex. He also began an affair, leaving me at home alone with only the company of Bootsie. My blunder kitty who loved to make a spot on my stomach and go to sleep. Of course, I rolled over on him more times than once. With my having a pissed off Kitty who hissed at me before going into hiding. I was in chronic pain and was very sensitive to the touch. Did I want to die? Nah! I wanted to enter a baton twirling competition, but couldn't because I couldn't fit the skirt. I had to quit singing in the church choir, because the walk down the aisle wiped me out. I was in total discomfort with nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue adding on to the fun. Did I want to die? Nah! At times in church I was tempted to climb up on the cross and ask God to take me. Now, that's a sacrifice! Disfigured and dying, what was one to do? Me? I prayed and meditated a lot to forget about the cruel comments made by people. I nearly started a bonfire when lighting candles in church to forgive the treatment that I received in the bars. The girls and studs weren't too kind in passing on the street either, which almost caused the church to get burned down. Were my prayers answered? Let's see, God is good, right? Well I started doing good things to help others while learning that I had more than my looks going for me. I agreed to let the Interns at Madison Clinic examine me as a learning patient with Lipodystrophy. And, I agreed to let Dr. Spock (Madison Clinic) take photos to be used at upcoming seminars about Lipodystrophy. I had my inner beauty, the spirit of Christ, and God. I was asked to pose for the new safe and safer sex campaign for POCAAN (People of Color Against Aids Network). At first, I declined, then, I realized that this wasn't about me! It was for the cause and to show people one of the many faces of people living with AIDS/HIV. Yes gang, I was a fuller figure model! You should have seen the looks I got when I passed out the condom kit with my bigger than life photo on it. You should have seen how quickly people moved their drinks, covered them up, or left them after I explained lipodystrophy to them. Did I want to die? Nah! I prayed for a nicer Gay community that was capable of being loving, kind, caring and supportive. I'm more compassionate to people of size because I know now how vicious and cruel people can be towards them. I'm more giving of myself and - through the grace of God - have the power to conquer life's challenges. I'm more loving and forgiving with my sense of humor getting me through the bad times and turmoil. So, are looks important? No, self-respect, self-dignity, and loving yourself are. Outer appearances can be deceiving, which is why you should look inside a person and see their soul; overlooking the flaws and seeing the person as they truly are. My Doctor knew that I was an experienced lab rat and suggested that I try serostim, a hormone injection. It made me sicker than a dog and the sight of food turned my stomach. My lipids turned back to fat that burned off with diet and exercise. It took me three years to burn off the flab factor with a few problem areas still to go. My advise to those facing lipodystrophy is this, stick it out! Dying is too easy, living out the story line increases the chapters in one's book of life's lessons.

Yes gang, the misbehaving in the Gay Community made front-page news with Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public thinking that all gay men are whores in eternal heat. Not to mention selfish, self-centered, and insensitive with a twist of suicidal sissies to the delight of all of the anti-gay groups and the Religious Wrong. Public health officials estimate the infection rate in gay men will jump by 60% if the latest rave of complacency, recklessness or prevention burnout is carried on with a vengeance. New HIV infection rates are running high because of unsafe sexual behavior due in part of irresponsibility and stupidity of the worst degree. Complacency is much too kind because how can one be unaware of the dangers involved when it's in your face every direction you look. Ignoring the real fact of the manner and denying it doesn't make it go away. Nor does saying; "AIDS is not a problem." It is, it shall be, and is an epidemic staring us in the face. Recklessness is a cute way of saying that someone has self-destructive tendencies and needs therapy. Prevention burnout? Let's get real here! Preventive measures are the best way to go regardless of the inconvenience "The new information is frightening. It's astounding." Dr. Bob Wood, director of the HIV/AIDS program for Public Health, Seattle and King County. This is coming from the same guy who thinks that barebacking isn't a problem in the gay community. Doesn't he know that unsafe sex and barebacking are one in the same? Guess not! The agency's clinics identified 94 new HIV infections in gay men tested last year. Testing through April indicates there could be more than 150 cases by the end of this year. The clinics account for only a fraction of HIV testing in the county the numbers is considered to be a representative sampling. The spread of the AIDS virus in Seattle's gay community is appalling, but not something to be surprised or shocked about. Health officials have been reporting increased rates of sexually transmitted diseases and warning that HIV would make an entrance on the scene for the past several years. Aids Activists and concerned citizens have been trying to stop the stupidity for the longest time only to get slammed into a brick wall. Syphilis had been eliminated from King County then made an epidemic come back with health officials guess-a-mating 100 case of syphilis, mostly among gay men. According to Bob Wood, the up rise in STD rates indicates more risky sexual behavior and warns that it could lead to a second wave of HIV infection in Seattle and King County. With condoms being a forgotten fad like the hula-hoop and nobody caring enough about themselves or the people involved the outcome was already evident. "Aids is no longer as scary as it used to be." Bob Wood. Really? A disease with no cure or with no vaccine over boiling in a beacon in a labotorory is considered to be no basic biggie. On that logic along gay men are sucking and f**king like there's no tomorrow without condoms or telling their HIV status or failing to notice a sore or lesion in the genitals. Bob Wood is also under the impression that AIDS is a long-term, manageable disease. Let's try treatable with side effects, resistance, and mutation lurking around the corner. Then there's the strain of AIDS that 's resistance to all medicines causing the person to have a funeral on stand-by. The fear factor is gone and unsafe behavior is becoming an high infection rate due to the above it all attitude. The going theory is that young gay men may be complacent about the disease while older gay men waiting for a cure or vaccine may be tired after two decades and experience what experts call prevention burnout. Which generation wins the "unclear of the concept" award for the century? Curing a virus is easier said than done with an estimated cure factor not estimating at all. The logical approach to this is to practice safe and safer sex while taking the prescribed drugs until a cure does happen to concoct in the research labs. Bob Wood also points out that people still die from AIDS. With a death factor involved you'd think that people would adept and knock off the weirdo, wacko, risky sexual behavior. The mindset that being gay is all about having sex without any other interests shows that the light bulb is busted with the thinker in total darkness. "It's up to the gay community to fight the trend. I don't think it's just complacency, it's also denial and carelessness. " Jack Johnston director of Positive Power, an educational program designed to educate HIV+ people about reducing their risk of spreading the disease. Sexually active gay and bisexual men aren't unique in wanting to avoid the stigma and fear that can accompany a positive HIV test. Sexually active gay and bisexual men don't want to be held accountable for their actions. It's easier to not get tested and infect others without either partner knowing. It's easier to snub people who are HIV+ and tell the interested party their status getting their feelings hurt and made to feel like a leper. HIV+ people have more at stake here, they're more subjective to germs, infections, and can get the super infection if they don't play by the rules. A sexually active person can wipe them out and not know if they're infected themselves especially if they've never been tested. Not knowing what you're leaving behind seems to work for the sexually active people who are HIV+ bound. Try as you may, you won't escape unscathed. Johnston believes that members of the gay community can lead the way in creating an open, positive dialogue that can make everyone safer. According to David Richart, director of education and prevention for Lifelong Aids Alliance cuts in funding for AIDS prevention programs have made it harder to reach those most at risk. Lifelong Aids Alliance will start a public education campaign in July that features bus placards and involves reaching people through the Internet. "There's a lot of stuff on the Web promoting unsafe sex." David Richart. Yes, there is and I've exposed them to you my dear readers in an effort to do my part in this War against AIDS and STD's. With HIV infections soaring and the use of condoms plunging, public health officials and AIDS activists are urging members of the gay and bisexual community to engage in safe sex and get tested for HIV and STD's. The Saga Continues... Big Brother to the Rescue! By Nevin Jefferson My Sister,Juanez called me over the weekend from Texas. For the past weeks she's being trying to get help with her mortgage. Only to be told that"I don't know how to do the paperwork!" She asked me if I had any suggestions?I told her that I'd think on it and write a Saga about it. And now the Saga... The Burning Bush left ashes of a trillion dollar deficit complete with a 14 month recession and a broken financial system. This was President Obama's inheritance after being sworn into office twice due to a nervous Republican Supreme Court Judge. The consensus in the Black community is that he did it on purpose because President Obama didn't vote for him when he was in the Senate. After a powerful State of the Union Address with solutions to help rebuild America with the hope of better tomorrow finally arriving on that day. Cheers and Kudzu's to you President Obama! Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana gave the rebuttal address with an immediate refusal of the Stimulus money. This refusal and slam was also coming from the Republican Governors Association. Republican Party. This was after all who the Republican party chose to represent them. He slapped Stimulus money for unemployment and other funding assistance back into the face of President Obama. As well as a kick in the teeth to the people of the State Louisiana People where there people are still hurting from Katrina and are of need of the unemployment money since unemployment is bad there. Now get this gang, Governor Jindal boasted of being a Proud Native America. No proud Native America would snub a Black man who was voted in as the President of the United States and refuse the help being offered to his State. Nor would he deny the promise made to uphold and care for the State of Louisiana in in which he was elected to. In the Black Community Governor Jindal is the irrelevant of "Uncle Tom with a Forked Tongue". If a White Republican gave this same speech all hell would have broke loose. Because it's very oblivious that some Whites are having a problem with a Black President in office. The racist actions and discrimination towards the President and the America Public is crawling out of the woodworks. Roots of the Burning Bush are still deep in the Republican Party. As money from the economic stimulus packages flows other Republican Governors are rejecting their states share of 7 billion for enhanced unemployment benefits with the reason being that the strings that Congress attached would lead to higher business taxes. In order to get the funding States must expand unemployment benefits which will include part-time workers who lose their jobs. Texas had an unemployment rate of 6.4% in January and is entitled to $555 million. This would be the help that the citizens of Texas could use. Texas Governor Rick Perry is rejecting the money because his state would have to raise taxes on business or cut back the benefits once the federal funding runs out. I strongly doubt that $555 million would run out too soon. I see this total depleting on if the The Deplorable Ex-Factor Bush files for unemployment. The State of Texas would be deeply screwed again without a kiss.Republican Governor Association chairman Mark Sanford of South Carolina leds the posse of conservative GOP Governors who have rejected or considered rejecting the unemployment money or other funding from the 787 billion stimulus package. Get this,South Carolina had the nations second highest unemployment rate in January at 10.4%. Haley Barbour of Mississippi and Bob Riley of Alabama also have rejected the unemployment funds. The time to put aside petty agendas and politics during the economic crisis is now. These are the same goof ball boys network who helped incur the trillion dollar deficit. The damages done was just fine by them because they couldn't care less.Their rejection of the expanded unemployment benefit is going to hurt laid off workers who will need the benefits to survive. Without the help the laid off workers could find themselves homeless. If funds for the homeless is included in the stimulus they're be double screwed again without a kiss. The Republicans doesn't care about anything or anyone but themselves. They're pissed because a Black President is now over them all along with the majority of Democrats. And a mighty fine First Lady. History repeats itself with the cycles going full circle with the Dumb Old South rising again from Hell! Social bigotry is on the rise and it's charmed every so Southern. Complete with hatred racism. and discrimination. Blacks are a majority with them hurting the most by the denial and rejection of stimulus money promised to them by President Obama. The promised help and all of their hopes were denied leaving them out in the cold. Where's the light of hope that they need? Who's going to help strangle the government with red tape? What are people to do when they're repeatedly told that they cant' get help with their mortgages because they don't know how to do the paperwork? Will someone please this chick! And this is said with glee and malice at the end of the line from the Banks and Agencies in the South. It's a power play that's being played out and put to bed.God's people are suffering again down yonder! With Answered Prayers, we will take the fate of getting the stimulus into the South's hands. I'm in all favor of a giant Protest March Demanding an Impeachment of all of the Governors involved. I'm all in favor of canvassing and pledging people for a Class Action Suit Against the Governors,Not the States. The suit would hold the Governors responsible for their actions and all parties involved who didn't follow the direct orders from their Black President. A Class Action Law Suit is the best way to get the stimulus money into the hands of the people. When it'comes to money its best to have someone who knows dollars and cents. Face it, The governors are saying no to the money that isn't theirs. And they can't spent it. This alone is giving them conniption fits. The Civil Rights movement started in the churches of the south, so it's only fitting that we put God first again in his Temple. Almighty Fortress is Our God! From the churches into homes then venturing out into Neighborhoods ,Malls,Businesses, and Community Centers. Cavessing in local neighborhoods both at the doors and in high traffic ares is the most effective way to to reach out those who want to stand up and be counted out some dough. Back in 1776 our Declaration of Independence was signed by our founding Fathers in powered wigs,knickers, and white stockings with big buckles on their shoes. Fast forward to 1972 when asked on a History exam to describe this period of time? I called it Early American Sissies without the purses and other accessories. My teacher called me a "Radical Hippie" then returned my paper an "F". I told him that I was a Senior and already had my diploma waiting in the administration office. So no basic biggie! I handed him back the test paper after writing on it with the red pen I borrowed off of his desk. "Give this F- To Your Mama,Chump!" With that I swished out of the classroom and down the hallway. What? It was my freedom of speech to pull a Nevinism on the dear old chap. I have Freedom of Speech and everything else. Just like the zealots of this day have the freedom to do the low down and dirty B.S. Soaked with Fear,Hatred,Racism and Bigotry. Thirty-Seven Years later,I'm a radical Episcopalian in discernment and a "Gonna-"B" St. Francis Friar. What? He called and I answered with half of Washington hearing my booming voice that carries well without a microphone or bullhorn. Both calls! Things happen in two in my life my spiritual advisor told me 2 is for 2 witnesses with God joining in. It rang the church bells for me! So, how do pissed off en masses of people vote to have it changed? Stopped? An Initiative cast with the ignorant beliefs that anyone different from everyone else is wrong and is less than a citizen just like the Blacks were back in our day. Not only did they do it they became headline news as the new thing to do against the GLBT community who are equally pissed off as I was. Note,keyword here,"was pissed". I released,let go , and turned over to God.! Amen! Why is the Supreme Court stringing us along on this? From what I' m reading about the court case is that the Judges are kissing up to the Prosecution and belittling our Defense. The thing that irked me the most was that the great number of Blacks who voted "AGAINST" instead of "FOR" They of all people should know how it feels to be denied rights that flashes back to that brief moment in time when we could have lost ours. Had Blacks lost out it wouldn't have been pretty! How can they of all people vote for oppression,discrimination,and a strong show of hated for the GLBT community. Talk about Nerve!
