With 16 million strong the Southern Baptist Convention, the Protestant denomination that's still behind McDonald's sales in the U. S. of A. Wants to serve their fellow gays and lesbians in a way we've never been served before and never will be if we have any say about it. Get ready to bite into the hankie and clutch those pearls, girls! The SBC has gone public with their insane notion to liberate gays from their homosexuality. Once again, this is an oxymoron since gay and homosexual are one in the same. It's a gay thing, okay? Just like Negro and Black. It's a Black thing with Afro-America not being strong suited enough for today's Blacks. I'm not from Africa and I'm very Un-American and proud of it. Gay Nation lives! Try as they may, the SBC is hell bend on getting 42,000 churches to convince gays that Jesus can save them and change their sexual orientation. I'll take goodwill in my prayers thank you! Actually, Jesus needs to save us from the SBC and those bright idea gone dark thinkers like them. We all need to be saved from this mass insanity of the Religious Wrong who's thinking keeps going to the left. Jesus, help us now! Amen! Yes gang; Operation Gay No More rises from hell with a vengeance complete with an Associated Press report. Once again, people will see their mouths moving while their brains are standing perfectly still. "Homosexuals can find freedom from this sinful, destructive lifestyle. They can be redeemed. They can be liberated." Stated Richard Land, head of the Southern Baptists. Gone aren't the days! I'm liberated! I burnt my Calvin Klein underwear, which plunged me into the essence of an Independent Raging Queen with hope, promise, and the pursuit of not getting screwed with. To Thy Self Be True! "If homosexuality is a disease, let's all call in queer to work. "Hello. Can't work today, still queer." Robin Tyler. "I'd rather be Black than gay because when you're Black you don't have to tell your mother." Charles Pierce. "My lesbianism is an act of Christian charity. All those women out there praying for a man and I'm giving them my share." Rita Mae Brown. "This is yet another attempt by the leadership of the Southern Baptist Convention to distort and manipulate their congregation's faith to attack gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. This kind of anti-gay prejudice flies in the face of scientific evidence, common sense and basic decency and it fuels discrimination that can lead to violence against GLBT American." Stated David Smith, communications director at the Washington, D.C. based Human Rights Campaign. Better known as the HRC for those who are into initials because it sounds so cute. "We have been trying to persuade them that converting gays in nothing but spiritual violence. But the dichotomy here is that on one hand they say they welcome gays and on the other they call homosexuality a sinful lifestyle." Laura Montgomery Rutt, communications director of Soulforce. The group, whom the SBC beefed up security, rented entire public spaces and adopted measures to keep Soulforce and groups like theirs who are an interfaith movement dedicated to ending spiritual violence against GLBT people by the wayside. Sean Cahill, director of policy at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force called this latest brain dead stunt, "absurd, sad and offensive". "I wish the Southern Baptist had learned from the shameful and brutal history of forced conversions of Native American into Christians in the United States and of Jews in Europe." Sean Cahill. "Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" Ernest Gaines. "You could move." Abigail Van Buren, "Dear Abby", In response to a reader who complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know that he could do to improve the quality of the neighborhood. As individuals we are strive to change for the better and life is full of changes that take place during our journey. There are those who fight change causing an inner battle soon to emerge with a victory within one's self. Change starts from within and comes from without. Simple logic, simple fact. Throughout our daily lives we encounter many programs designed to help us manage ourselves, our work and even our families. There are computer programs, weight programs, 12-step programs and educational programs. We choose from programs that direct, maintain and improve the spirtual aspect of our lives. We are all unique beings with the unique responsibility of expressing the goodness of God as only we as individuals can. We have our own prayer program to keep us consciously connected with God. We have our own program that insures us to treat our fellow man with love and compassion. Our spiritual program covers every aspect of our life. It includes an effort to deliberately look for opportunities to express love, time for prayer, meditation and study. For those of us on a spiritual journey and growing into strong, positive, spiritual beings this works miracles. Many of us, though not in college, seem to be majoring in the minor things of life. We have placed so much attention on the minor irritations in our lives that they have become major. Minor irritations include stressing over the choices that others have made for their lives. Minor irritations come when we try to force our choices on others. Minor irritations are often things that are not our business. Our focus on their presence and our efforts to manipulate give them power and cause them to grown into major issues. There are those of us who declared a new major, "Healing and Restoration of Self" or "Peace, Joy and Happiness." The first required course is "Changing Thoughts 101. As we change our thoughts, we put God first. With the realization of our desire for a new life and start majoring in God's Blessings for our life. Change starts with one's self. Nobody can force change on you. "My own belief is that there is hardly anyone whose sexual life, if it were broadcast, would not fill the world at large with surprise and horror." W. Somerset Maugham. "Drag is when a man wears everything a lesbian won't." Unknown Quoted. "If male homosexuals are called "gay", then female homosexuals should be called "ecstatic". Shelly Roberts. "It always seemed to me a bit pointless to disapprove of homosexuality. It's like disapproving of rain." Francis Maude. "The only queer people are those who don't love anybody." Rita Mae Brown. "The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to the heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." Lynn Lavner. For grins and giggles, I polled my friends and people who don't know me, but do now! The following question; "Do you think that the SBC can pray me straight?" The main consensus was that even with 24/7 prayers, an exorcism, and candle lighting, which would burn down the State. It wouldn't work! With that in mind, I should go off and close them down. Then again, this latest idiot flavored thought with sprinkles of corrosion doesn't have a prayer. Neither does the SBC and those like them.

have you heard of something called The Simple Way? A guy called Shane Claiborne started it and has written a book about his life as a christian so far. starting off as conservative and ending up somewhere very different. anyway, one of the stories is of when he and a friend got tickets to the Republic Conference I think it was 1998 or it may have been later. They even managed to sit near the front, and then when Bush started to speak, they ripped off their suits and revealed t-shirts printed with what they began shouting some key verses on the poor will make it first etc. eventually they got dragged away, locked in a cupboard and he heard the secret service say, "what can do with them, if they are protesters we can arrest them" so when they opened the door and he was asked, are you a protester, he said "errr .... I am ... a prophet", and so they released them :) . anyway that story makes me smile. x
