Pain of Love II - 9. When I Woke up This Morning

(a song)

When I woke up this morning

my head was still filled with the memories

of sweet dreams of you

and I wanted to tell you,

to tell you I love you

and how you had haunted my dreams

and I wanted to tell you

to tell you how much every word

that you say means to me

So I got up this morning

and rushed out to look for the words

that you always would leave

and I wanted to read them

to read them and hear them

and feel all the things in your heart

and I wanted to read them

and know that the message

I left you had brought you a smile

But then I remembered

the words that had taken my dreams

and had thrown them away

And then I remembered

your words would not be there

they’d never give light to my day

But you said that you loved me

that you’d always love me

that you’d never leave me

that time couldn’t tear us apart.

But you said that you loved me

but now you are gone from me

dead as the grave to me

buried with my empty heart

But I’ll always love you

just as I’ve loved you

so many times in my soul’s past

And I’ll always miss you

and wait for you always

‘til your soul joins with mine at last

When I woke up this morning

my head was still filled with the memories

of sweet dreams of you

and I wanted to tell you,

to tell you I love you

and how you had haunted my dreams

and I wanted to tell you

to tell you how much every word

that you say means to me

And still I will tell you…

tell you I love you

and how much your love means to me

And still I will tell you

tell you have me

from now until eternity

Cause I’ll always love you

just as I’ve loved you

so many times in my soul’s past

And I’ll always miss you

and wait for you always

‘til your soul joins with mine at last

When I woke up this morning

I knew you still loved me

and that’s all I needed to know
