Nowhere to Run - 1. Poem

Nowhere to Run

Here I am in the midst of a storm, nowhere to run and nowhere to hide

Those I loved before, they left with nary a word, leaving this void in my heart

Into the dark chasm I tarry with tears of lost love's agony

Nowhere to run, I stumble through the cavern

Not knowing where to find rays of hope

Here I am lost in the barren snow, no one who knows and no one who cares

Though I needed them so, I must have lost them forever, leaving bitterness in my soul

Into the endless snow I tarry with tears of glacial water

Nowhere to run, I wade through deepening snow

Not knowing when I will find the sun

Here I am waiting for him right now, no need to run and no need for haste

Though he's not here now, I still have his great love, filling the void in my heart

Into the gleaming light I tarry with tears of everlasting joy

Nowhere to run, I wait for him to return

Not knowing when I will see his smile
