Light - 1. Poem

I had a light

bright in it's fixture

morose in it's picture

I had a light

that flickered

it blinked

and it shadowed

then it's fixture was shattered

I had a light

where there's a black stain

Round and smudged

the middle white

an empty space

for where I once had a light

A simple poem with heartache feeling. A good read. straight to the point and no mis-conception. But could add something extra? something something to the end. :D

Actually, I had a similar thought I was planning to put into a poem. You did it so well, so I'm not even gonna try. :)

Nothing to add hun, I liked this much.

This made me a little sad :( But I guess it's good that a poem gets people to feel something, right?

It's okay. I was sad when writing it. If you felt something while reading it, then I guess it did it's job. :)

It sounds like you are up for metaphors. Sounds like life to me. Bright, glowing and then gone. Interesting take any way you look at it.

That's how I felt when I told my "mom" I was into both guys and girls. Just the look she gave me made me feel like I had this big blank spot inside me where the gender definition should've been. A good poem and very emotion invoking.
