99-Cent Love Poems - 2. He Wore Heart on His Sleeve

He Wore Heart on His Sleeve

He thought love was a happy delusion,
so he wore it on his sleeve.
It made him see things in different light,
so bright, it blinded him.

He dreamed so hard of the perfect one,
he refused to sleep on it.
People looked at him with doleful eyes,
he thought they were green with envy.

Until one day he found the one
who sent his heart flying.
Dark cloud loomed, our unlucky hero
the rejection felt like skydiving
with no site for proper landing.

He finally woke up
after many insomniac nights.
As if nothing had happened
he dried his pillow, then stood on his feet.

He thought love was a happy delusion,
so he wore it on his sleeve.
It made him see things in different light,
so bright, it blinded him.

An old poem I wrote a long time ago when I first joined GA.  Now it's found again.  :2thumbs:

It is a heart touching poem Ashi. I know the feeling because I'd loved a wimp. But I never get rejected but he turned out to be the worst guy ever. Thank God, I never get to connected with him.

It's better to remember you have loved than never have experienced it. I think someone wise once said that (or very similar to it). I am sure you'll find someone better, Emi. :)
