Those Nights of My Life - 6. Chapter 6 - There's Nothing Wrong With Us

The final chapter! Short and sweet!

Xavier will be talking in this font.

Kade will be in this text

Okay, final stretch people! The finale, chapter 6!

I'll be blunt, Mom and Dad split up not long after the whole knocking on Kade's door thing. We moved from that house to the other side of town. I was still attending the same high school, though.

Because of the new place, Ben and I had to share a room. Which we were fine with, I mean we're twins. Chandler found it hilarious that we share a room, calling us stereotypical.

School went pretty good. Quentin settled down a bit. I guess he found out some version of the whole story and felt bad. Either way he didn't bother me, in fact, he stood up for me more than once.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS CHAPTER IS FOR!!

It's for the moment Kade, and I told our parents we were... well a thing.

It started on a night where Kade had driven us to the lake for the day. Just the two of us. We stayed there all day and now it was like 9pm, and we were just looking up at the stars.

“They are so pretty,” I said in awe of the vast sky above us.

Kade chuckled. “If you consider fiery balls of gas pretty.”

I snorted and hit him. “Stop it with your facts!”

“You are right, they are pretty.” I leaned into him; he was to my right. Next thing I knew, his lips were pressed to mine. We were making out in a blink of an eye.

When we separated, we couldn't tear our eyes from each other. “That was nice...”

“Xavier, will you be mine?” Kade just flat out said it. I knew it was coming, but there was still a surprise to it.

I remember my face heating up, blushing no doubt. “Yes, Kade Wilken Jr. I will be yours, only if you are mine.”

Kade rolled his eyes. “You're perfect.” Now I wanna say we had really dirty long sex... but we didn't.

It was 9pm after all. My curfew hadn't changed just got easier to show up a few minutes later.

So when Kade dropped me off at my place, he came inside with me. Mom was in the kitchen, making some kind of desert. When she heard us come in she spoke. “Hello, boys.”

She knew Kade was with me? Mom’s sometimes. “Hey, mom. What are you making?”

“Well, made.” She looked towards Kade. When I looked over to him, he had this shit eating grin on his face.

“What do you two know that I don't?”

“Well Xavier, as the kind gentlemen I am, I asked your mother if you could be my boyfriend before asking you.” I was surprised. Kade had never shown his gentlemen side until then. And nowadays he only shows it to me.

“River and Elsa had some warnings for him, but they ultimately gave him their blessing. Since you two are in here, I assume you said yes?”

“How did you know I liked him?”

She shrugged. “Mother's intuition I guess. That and learn to clear internet history.” Oh, shit! Well... at least I wasn't in trouble for it. “Now who wants cake!?”

The next day we told Kade's mom and Step-dad. The day after we told his dad. We were accepted by everyone with open arms.

Years later I told my dad about us. Once he had gotten help and stuff. He was happy for me that I found someone to make me happy. And then he told me not to fuck it up.

And now here we are... 20 years after that happy...

This story started out with me being a, scared of his home kind of kid. It ended in a really different light. It's not an easy road finding the light in darkness, but if you stick to the path you'll make it. I promise.
