Reflecting in Haiku - 2. 47th President

I have been having a hard time concentrating on anything this week. This is a purge of feelings. The majority of voters wanted this man to lead my country (again). The minority are afraid. I am afraid.

Orange man with a smirk,
Makes promises of progress.
He revokes our rights.

He has the power;
He promises to use it.
My country hates me.

He stirs emotions,
Through words, ideas, actions.
His platform is hate.

All men are equal,
Some truths are self-evident.
White, cis, straight anyway.

America’s dream:
Life, Liberty, Happiness.
It’s not for everyone!

You smile like a wolf,
You are loved by the shepherds.
Will you eat the sheep?

Crude, mean, indecent,
The country has made its choice.
We elected Trump.

Not a haiku

Ask not what you can do for your country,
but what your country can do to you.
