Reflecting in Haiku - 1. Loneliness
Yesterday was rough for me. In my journal I scribbled a freeform poem about loneliness and isolation. It was dark and raw, but it helped to say those words on paper. I slept on it, and today I spent time reflecting on the nature of loneliness. I hope sharing my thoughts will inspire some of your own! Much love!
It is like a clot,
Slowly creeping towards my chest.
Loneliness can kill.
. . .
Alone and lonely,
No one else will understand.
My mind lies to me.
. . .
Silence surrounds me;
The noise in my head deafens.
Speaking fills the void.
. . .
Nobody knows me,
I work hard to keep it so.
I long to be known.
. . .
Loneliness smothers,
A deprived soul aches for friends.
Breathe companionship.
. . .
You say I’m alone,
Unlovable and depraved.
Fuck you, loneliness!
Thank you for allowing me to plant my words into your mind. I hope something beautiful grows as a result!
