A Child's Life - Prologue. A Child's Life - Prologue

It had finally happened.

The day Joannah had feared would never come.

Max was himself once more, but Maxine was dead. She had had to kill her daughter in order to save her son.

It was a day she had not been looking forward to. She had tried to justify it to herself time and time again, but couldn’t. This was something far beyond rhyme and reason; what she had done wasn’t illegal, and it sure as shit couldn’t be punished by the courts. However, Max would be an entirely different story.

Maxine was who he had lived for. She had given him happiness beyond description. She had been a part of his life since he was seven years old. Yet as far as Joannah was concerned, Maxine was the biggest threat imaginable to her son’s safety.

Joannah knew that he would have a hard time accepting Maxine’s death, but Joannah wanted her son back. The only way was for her to kill Maxine.

They say that a mother will move Heaven and Earth for her child.

They say that a mother values the life of her child above her own.

It is doubtful anyone has ever said that a mother is capable of murdering her daughter to save her son.
